Lisbon is a large, active, and bustling city which is very fun to explore and enjoy, but this hotel was like an oasis of peace and beauty in the middle of all that action. It was so amazingly well appointed, gorgeous, and quiet in Casa do Patio. We absolutely loved our stay here and would definitely choose this exact hotel again for our next stay. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! We couldn't help but take pictures of the spreads because there were so many fresh choices each day, including eggs cooked to order! The staff were absolutely wonderful and very helpful. The courtyard area was so peaceful and a wonderful place to hang out with a glass of wine after a long day of walking the steep inclines of the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone!
Nothing negative to say about this place at all, it was wonderful!

When we checked-in in the evening, the man who worked at the reception offered us a drink of local cherry as a welcome and told us where he recommends to go within 4 days. It was very hospitable of him, immediately made us feel warm. He also gave us a free room upgrade and gave us an apartment with the most beautiful view.

Great location; quiet and secure! The A/C was obviously a bonus during the heat wave of up to 37degrees and the other facilities available in the suite (bathroom etc.) were sublime. The breakfast is fantastic and there are also places to hang clothes to dry if you need in the small courtyard that connects most rooms. It’s a really lovely spot to hang, read, journal, or chat with staff. There are two small shops on the street so you can buy water, snacks, an extra coffee if you need and chat with the neighbors. It is a 5min walk from a great lookout spot that was perfect to watch the sunsets with an apéro. Close to most public transport locations as well. The staff here are super helpful and kind - they are open to questions about any sightseeing trips or excisions if needed. This company has other locations nearby as well, but this one was wonderful! 10/10 would recommend

There's one thing that sets this place apart and makes it top quallity. However, before getting to that, the other stuff. There are little apartments onto a wee, central square but if you are in one of the apartments next door - take note of the "there is no lift" warning. We were on the top floor which was great as no noise from above through the floor or from the street (not that there is much noise from the street anyway). However, the 8 flights of steep, narrow stairs up to it were pretty hard to get the cases up. We didn't mind the ups and downs all the time at all as we like exercise but if you have any kind of mobility problems- you need one of the central apartments, not the flats. Lisbon is extremely hilly - and not just downwards towards the river, and upwards away from it....you might be going only two streets over and still find yourself going 40 degrees downhill for one street then 40 degrees up the next - it is exhausting and the streets are pretty rough. If you are mobile enough to walk around Lisbon then any of the flats will be fine for you but be warned - everything is steep! The apartment itself was spacious and clean. We would have liked somewhere to sit and look at the view but with small windows and no balcony the best place to sit would be down in the central square. We just spent all our time out roaming the city so no problem. The location is good - in a historic part of town and far enough away from chiado and pink street etc to not have a load of noise at night. Be warned though that it is in a restricted traffic area (even if you could manage to drive a car around the tiny, steep little streets) so hiring a car would mean parking outside of the area. We didn't. The walk down to, for example, the little supermarket is very steep, even though it is only about 200 yards. It is great though and you can get the tram just outside it to go upwards towards the town centre. So, onto what really sets this place apart......
Having some sort of balcony to survey the view from the apartment would have made it perfect but you can't have everything!

The hotel is hidden in a quiet, green backyard in one of Lisbons most beautiful neighbourhoods. There are many bars, shops and restaurants (for example on Green Street) just a short walk away and even the riverside and main sights are in walkable distance (or one could take the Tram 28E). The room was really spacious, neatly decorated, with a comfy bed and served as a perfect base for us to explore Lisbon. On top of that, the staff was very kind and helpful and the delicious, freshly prepared breakfast in the backyard was the best way to start the day.

This was our fourth stay in last five years and we always love to come back, especially because of the amazing breakfast that keeps really good quality during all the years. The location is quiet, but close by to everything you might need and you can easily reach it by walking, rooms are nice and cozy, after renovation, the staff always helpful. This place would be always my first choice during our Lisbon stays.
The only minus (that doesn't influence my opinion about Casa do Patio) this year was, that our room had no wifi signal at all, you had to go out from the room or to the reception. We mentioned this by the reception and they made noticed try to get repeator or any other solution, because we were not the first one complaining.

You enter to the hotel's courtyard from a narrow historical street. The center of the courtyard is the hotel's patio. The rooms are dispersed in the perimeter of the courtyard. Maximum 2 store small white houses that are leaning on each other. The room was spacious with a large bathroom. The breakfast was the best I have ever seen in Europe, with 4 different cheese, sweet and salty pastries, egg, bacon, etc....
Our room had a common entrance with the staff storage room. In the morning the staff started the day early like 06:45 and they made a lot of noises while opening and closing the staff room door.

I had a wonderful stay at Casa do Pátio by Shiadu during my trip to Lisbon! The room was spotless and incredibly comfortable, and the homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious, featuring a delightful variety of dishes made with fresh eggs that I thoroughly enjoyed. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional service and kindness of the hotel staff. They were always friendly, welcoming, and provided outstanding service throughout my stay. A special thanks to them for preparing a lovely picnic breakfast box on my check-out day, as I had to leave early. It was such a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated. Thank you for the excellent hospitality! I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return!

The breakfast provided exceeded my expectation, the range of choice was amazing and if it wasn't there the friendly staff were more than happy to oblige with any request. The area was also made available during the day for coffee, water and snacks, this was highly appreciative.
Having to travel up and down the fourth level was nothing short of breath taking, especially with luggage, but very quickly got used to it and became what I would describe as a pleasurable experience and great exercise. It is after all a preserved historic building with character and elevators are simply not available.
