This is a smaller hostel and a lovely, clean and happy place. The staff couldn't have been more helpful, they allowed us to drop our bags early and even hang there till our room was cleaned. The kitchen area has a big table and it was so nice to sit and eat there and get to chat with other guests - there was a real mix of people and all were lovely. The Metro was about 3 mins away and that takes you right into the centre of Lisbon in moments. The Hostel is in an officeblock on the 2nd floor (so, walk up steps to ground floor, up two floors and it's there on the left. There's a lift also. There's lockers along the corridor, bathrooms are clean and kept well-stocked with paper. There were no queues whilst we were there. I read some reviews where people ranted about tiny toilets, shared showers and other nonsense. I had been worried by this unnecessarily. Once we arrived we saw for ourselves the situation - yes, toilets are a bit small, but it's not a problem, there's nothing the hostel can do to fix this. One of the showers in the Ladies is a double shower...I LOVED this as I'm a larger lady and it gave me room. Also it was fabulous for a family staying there as they could take their kids in with them. Others mentioned the hostel was hard to find...we found it no problem, it's quite clear, it just doesn't have a giant sign lit up; just go by the address.

Here's something we would STRONGLY suggest to hostel manager - buy an portable electric double hotplate for the kitchen. Simple and cheap. Having this and a couple of saucepans would have made the world of difference for us. It was too hard to cook food in just a microwave...please, put a double hotplate in there and everyone will love you for it!

We stayed in a double room to ourselves. The room was very comfortable and the host was also very welcoming. We did arrive early to the check in time however were still made welcome and had the option to stay and wait or leave luggage and come back soon when it’s ready. The property in general was very clean and easy to spot, we also got a very good tour of where everything is by the host which was useful.

The property is on a Main Street so does tend to be a little louder, however for us this wasn’t a big issue. The toilets are small and showers do only have curtains (no locks or anything) however the price does reflect that and toilets are visibly kept clean daily. Keep in mind that although the property is not that far from centre, it is still around a 20-30 min walk and Lisbon does have many hills too. However it is still a good location as there are many stores and restaurants nearby as well as public transport.

Very easy to reach, simple check in procedure! The room was very comfortable and clean! The kitchen was very cosy and the whole place has a modern vibe. The showers, even though shared, are good quality with good water pressure and temperature regulation (had a very good shower actually!). We only stayed for one night but were very pleased! The quality/price ratio is also very good! Will use again when we come back to lisbon!

Our door was a bit difficult to close without making a lot of noise and the view from the room wasn't the prettiest but these are very minor things that didn't affect our stay at all! Still very good !

It was clean with tasteful decor. Room nice. Bed comfortable.

The traffic was a little bit noisy at night but earplugs helped and I had a decent rest. This is also what one can expect if you book on a busy road in a big city, so not the hostel's fault. I was also a little bit cold, a thin blanket would have been nice.

Bed super comfortable, silent in general, kitchen, terrace, nice showers although shared, intimate, cozy and 100% recommended.

It was quite noisy when someone was taking a shower and sometimes from the street. The window was huge and as a result some cold got in, but with the blankets it was warm and cozy.

The hostel is a short walk from a metro stop that quickly and easily takes you to the city centre (metro is very cheap). Otherwise, the neighbourhood was a nice area and the walk down to the city centre was lovely too, if you don’t want to get on the metro. The room was very clean and with good facilities, and the building has an elevator to take you up to the second floor with your heavy bags! The lady who greeted us was very kind and made check-in easy.

Although it was no fault of the hostel, the downstairs neighbour was doing construction work that started with very loud drilling at 8am on both mornings we stayed, which made it almost impossible to sleep after that time. The bedroom window was also thin and we were in a room above the road, this was fine for getting to sleep at night as we were tired but maybe something to bear in mind when booking if you’re a light sleeper.

Convenient location, easy check-in process, helpful personnel. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious for its category.

No toiletries in the room. A bit noisy both from the busy street and from the other guests who one can hear moving around even if they are considerate.

clean rooms, clean bed linen, comfortable beds, good, clean and bright kitchen, quiet, can’t hear the neighbors. the manager is a very nice woman, she explained in great detail how to get where we wanted to go, and answered all our questions.

There were minor inconveniences due to the lack of an electric kettle. but we found a solution and boiled water in the microwave

Receptionist was very nice and helpful. He also gave us recommendations on parking options nearby. Location was great overall. We have loved nearby park on the hill. You can eat and drink anywhere nearby. We have walked the city and had no problem seeing a lot of Lisabon and getting back to our hostel. Hostel itself was very clean, guests were polite, cleanliness, nice and quiet. The kitchen had enough appliances. Room itself was good enough for a hostel. Windows are huge and old so there is enough light and air change in the room for a price of a lower room temperature. We have not had any problems with sleeping tho.

Acoustics between the rooms are not really great but enough for this kind of accommodation. We have found the hostel on the street but had to look for it on our own inside the building. If I remember it right - the Liberty hostel was on the third floor. I realized the hostel is not giving towels (at least not for our room). And something not related to the hostel - watch out for parking in the Lisbon. Parking prices in garages and on the street are hardly ever shown but they are quite high during work days.
