Location , beds very comfy

We were on the 6th floor, when people say 6 floors in other reviews the reality is over 120 steps in a narrow circular winding staircase with the need of 2 handrails for the majority of the floors which it does not have . Appreciate this is an old building but if you have any concerns over negotiating this amount of stairs every time you go in or out of the property this accommodation would not be for you.

Great Apartment in a Problematic Location I'm giving Otília Apartamentos ten stars because the apartment and staff are wonderful. The kitchen is ideal for those wanting to cook. The shower and bathroom are very nice. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit for three weeks. Here are some helpful things to know about the apartment. The mattresses are good. It's clean. The bathroom is large. The hot water is a gas on-demand system, so if you shut your shower off to save water, you will get a whole bunch of cold water while it fires back up. The front of the gas stove hood pulls out to turn on the exhaust fan and light (not obvious). The apartment is five floors up—lots of stair climbing. But Lisbon is constant climbing anyway! There is no washer or dryer and only one laundromat nearby—which is very busy on weekends. It's in the center of action, so it's loud until the wee hours like any apartment in a similar location. It has a beautiful view and a small balcony for watching people below. This is your place if you want to stay in an area designed for a swarm of tourists.

I would never stay in this apartment or any other in this location. While walking in the area, we were approached daily by dozens of people standing outside their restaurant, assertively asking us to eat there. We were also constantly approached by people asking for money or selling things. People would even come into restaurants while we were trapped at our table. Many of these conversations were uncomfortable, and some people were aggressive and manipulative. After the first week, we simply left the area as quickly as possible each morning and had a fantastic time in surrounding neighborhoods and small towns easily reachable by walking, metro, train, trolley, or bus.

Location- location- location! You are right in the middle of Rua Augusta- so many stores and restaurants in walking distance. You close the windows and you don’t hear anything. Super comfy beds- no elevator- so it is quite a hike up the stairs but worth it. The staff is amazing- so kind, responsive, and always ready to help.

Stairs- it was my fault and I didn’t realize there wasn’t an elevator. But so worth it!

Met at floor level on arrival by friendly staff member who introduced herself and accompanied me to 5th floor - with help carrying my luggage! Rooms in our 2BR apartment were nicely furnished with many quirky literary touches - one bedroom wallpapered with pages from an old book, the other with a stacked bookcase above the bed, large picture of female Portuguese author in the sitting room, typewriter in the kitchen, quotes on the walls - and a lovely view from the two bedroom balconies along Rua Augusta Very well-equipped kitchen - appreciated the complimentary Pastel de Nata from the best bakery in Lisbon! Great location - not noisy despite being on a main restaurant strip The lack of a lift and the 100 steps to the top floor might be a concern for some, but we were fine!

Hot water was a bit unreliable, towels were a bit tired

COLLECTED PROPERTY KEYS FROM STAFF ON ARRIVAL AT RECEPTION DESK STAFF VERY FRIENDLY, HELPFUL & WELCOMING WITH EXCELLENT COMMUNICATION THROUGHOUT WALKED THROUGH THE PROPERTY WITH THE STAFF WHO SHOWED THE BEDROOMS & WHERE EVERYTHING WAS SUCH AS SPARE TOWELS, WIFI CODE, ETC

REQUESTED A QUIET ROOM HOWEVER NOT INFORMED THAT THERE IS A RATHER (IN)FAMOUS SINGER & HIS EXTREMELY LOUD FEMALE GROUPIES PERFORMING JUST OUTSIDE THE BEDROOMS AS MUSIC DIDN'T STOP UNTIL 23:00 WHICH IS NOT IDEAL WHEN EXHAUSTED FROM TRAVELLING

Location is perfect for a few days and the walking street area have tons of eat and drink opportunities but some of the best places are a bit off the area where it is less touristed.

Maybe I oversaw it at booking but getting a room on 6th floor, without elevator is a problem with luggage and the 50 kg small girls who offered to help would never be able to carry those suitcases up :-) A top room in an old building do not have straight walls but having so little space that you cannot get to the toilet og in bed without banging your head more times is absolutely not convient. Located i nthe walking street you have to expect noice but it stopped around 23.00 so no problem.

For a first time visit to Lisbon location was excellent. Exceptional view. Apartment was spacious (particularly the bathroom), well-appointed, light, and very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Administration of the booking was efficient and friendly.

The very central location was bound to be noisy but most street noise stopped by 10.30/11pm, and the window glazing is excellent. More annoying was noise from other residents on the echoing stairwell and voices/TV from other apartments. Given that there is no lift, people do make quite a lot of noise going up and down the stairwell with their luggage etc. Maybe a more explicit reminder to guests might be a good idea?

Beautiful apartment in a wonderful location. The decorating details highlighted special facets of Portugal (swallows, beautiful tiles, cork, Fado singing), which we really loved. It was special to have local pastries waiting for us in our kitchen. Those special touches made us feel very welcomed and taken care of. We loved the close proximity to the metro and amazing restaurants and plazas. It was quiet even though we were above a busy pedestrian area. The receptionists were very polite and communication was wonderful. Highly recommend!

We absolutely love this beautiful apartment in the best location in Lisbon. The design and furnishings are full of character. We were warmly greeted by three lovely people who helped carry my suitcase upstairs. They even treated us to delicious tarts from a famous pastry shop across the street. The view from our window is amazing, and we enjoyed a free concert on the street below in the evening. Despite the activity outside, it was very quiet inside with the windows shut, and we didn't hear any noise from upstairs either. We wish we could have stayed longer.

There is no elevator or washer/dryer

Fantastic location right on the Main Street with everything within walking distance. Comfy beds, clean and helpful staff! Would definitely return for another stay and recommend.

As others have mentioned there is NO lift and a steep spiral staircase. We were allocated an apartment on the 6th floor so bear that in mind before booking (if you have mobility issues or young children) or request a 1st or 2nd floor apartment. We took it in good humour and figured it was a free daily workout! Also bear in mind the top floor does have slanted ceilings so if you are tall you need to be mindful not to knock your head!
