I would absolutely reccomend Pestana Rua Augusta Hotel! We stayed there for a week in March and we could not complain about anything. The hotel is located in a central area. We thought that it might get noisy because of that, but it wasn't, maybe because our room was located on the top floor. The rooms are on the small side, but beatifully decorated, cosy and clean. There is a coffee machine in the room, the beds are incredibly comfortable, the bathroom has all the amenities (even hair conditioner, yay!). The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not included in the room price, but there is a restaurat next to the hotel which offers delicios breakfast options. You dont even have to walk out the hotel door, the restaurant entrance is next to the reception area. There are also lots of pastry shops and cafeterias nearby when you can have breakfast.

There wasn't anything we didn't like, just some things to keep in mind: - the wardrobe is an open one, no shelves or drawers, but there are plenty of hangers for the clothes. -no bathrobe. The hotel does not have a spa, so there is no need for bathrobe, just mentioning it. - if you want to charge breakfast on your credit card and pay at the end, the procedure is a bit complicated. But you can always pay right after breakfast at the restaurant, no need to put it on the room. - if you need to call a cab (uber/bolt), especially at arrival/departure when you have luggage, keep in mind that it is a very busy area and they might or might not be able to stop right in front of the hotel. We weren't really bothered by any of these, it's just that it's worth mentioning it.

I am a very experienced traveler across the world, and I found everything to be perfect and ideal - the location, room, cleaning, breakfast, and cooks there worked with true love. The receptionists were very helpful. Very welcoming environment.

I recommend that the hotel manager build a reception office that would be pleasant, representative, and comfortable for workers. There are just a couple of desks in the lobby for receptionists, which doesn't look like a proper reception area. Moreover, it's quite cold and even windy in that place now, which are inadmissible conditions for receptionists' work.

We liked everything about this hotel! The location was absolutely ideal for us, the staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful, the breakfast was brilliant, our room was lovely, always clean and tidy, and very comfortable. We received some lovely complimentary gifts in our room, and there was fresh water and a coffee maker. We requested a kettle and that was delivered in an instant. And even though we were in a very busy part of the city, the room was quiet and cosy.

There was nothing we didn't like! Everything was perfect! We wondered if we should have chosen a hotel with an evening restaurant but the reception staff recommended some lovely nearby restaurants, and it was always nice to return to the hotel for a late night drink after dinner.

Loved the whole experience. I stayed in a cosy room and it was beautifully decorated with ample space for one, a bit tight for a couple.

Room was over looking a busy pedestrianised street, I thought that I might not get to sleep from the noise at night. However, this was not the case as the first night I slept soundly so good insulation from the street. On the second night it was a different story, obviously the rooms around me had not been occupied that first night. I could hear sounds coming from the other rooms around me, I don't generally mind hearing muffled sounds but my bug bear is when I can hear someone using the bathroom.

Location is just amazing right next to the Arch of Lisbon. Walking distance to many attractions. The room was new and great. The heating was excellent. Breakfast was provided at a nearby 5 start hotel of the same group and was really worth the 2 minute walk to get there. Probably was the best breakfast we had in Lisbon.

Brilliant location right near the arch, close to shops, restaurants and all the key sights. The hotel is modern, clean and very well presented. We booked a junior suite and it was excellent. Spacious, quiet, comfortable bed, great shower, and nice extras like coffee pods and complimentary mini bar drinks. Everything felt fresh and well thought out. Staff were friendly and helpful, and happy to organise a tuk tuk tour and order taxis. We were also lucky to be given early check-in which was a huge bonus after a long journey.

The hotel only offers breakfast during set hours and doesn’t have a proper restaurant for dinner, just pizza. There are lots of places to eat nearby but some are quite touristy, so definitely worth asking the staff for their recommendations. We tried room service one night and it wasn’t great. It seemed like the food came from outside and it was expensive for what it was. We couldn’t eat some of it, which was disappointing.

Staying at this hotel exceeded my expectations. I am most impressed with the staff. During our stay we decided to leave the city and spend a couple of days on the beach. The lady at the reception, Sara Fundo, made numerous phone calls (on a Sunday!) and organized a swap between Pestana Hotel in Lisbon with Pestana in Alvor for a couple of nights, without us paying a cent. Overall, the hotel is very clean and well maintained. As I already mentioned, the staff is exceptional. The location is great, right in the center of the city and close to numerous landmarks.

Amazing hotel in a very ideal location! Staff was always polite and helpful. Rooms were super clean, spacious and nicely decorated. Complimentary drinks and chocolates were offered every day. The hotel is centrally located, right next to Augusta Arch and closed to restaurants, coffee shops, bars, museums and shops. Absolutely recommend and we will be back for sure!

A minor detail, there’s no kettle or coffee machine in the room.
