I had booked a nearby AirBnB that was not as described and needed an emergency place to stay. This place was clean, comfortable and had lovely, helpful staff. This hotel saved my trip! I observed staff emptying the contents of a large book cabinet and clean the inside and organize all the books, the gardens are lovely, the staff was welcoming and kind to me. I was happy with how quiet my room was. A gem!

The breakfast could use more variety, like the eggs served in the metal warmer were cold and the breakfast eggs/bacon were the same every morning. More variety would be nice (pancakes, waffles, French toast, hard boiled eggs). Nice fruit options though. I would have preferred a scalding hot shower

Great rooms with all necessary items for a long stay in a beautiful and calm location. Incredible staff, very friendly and helpful, they even surprised us with a fruit basket and bottle of champagne on our anniversary. Would definitely recommend for a couple for a short or long stay.

Because of the garden and nature sometimes their is a lot of noise for maintenance. However, this is not really a big issue when you are in the room because they are well isolated.

The rooms were nothing short of spectacular. Spacious, elegantly furnished, and equipped with every conceivable amenity, they redefine the meaning of comfort. About the breakfast – a delight that set the tone for each day of my stay. It was very efficient breakfast full of fresh Island products. The bathrooms were a marvel in themselves. In conclusion, this hotel has undoubtedly set a new standard for excellence in comfort and hospitality. I cannot recommend it highly enough to fellow travelers seeking an exceptional experience. Lovely hotel (it does have plenty of parking!), nice separate bungalows each with bedroom, bathroom and open plan kitchen/living room gives lots of space and privacy. Breakfast were simple but surely good enough (made cheese and ham toasties, had scrambled eggs too, there were cereal and fruit salad and pie was delicious; coffee was not from the machine but still far better than in USA hotels). Lovely garden & pool (didn't use it though). Kitchen had all cutlery, pots & pans, fridge, kettle etc for cooking.

Hotel should correct it as on booking.com it is marked that it has no parking - had not booked it just for that, but decided to call and check. If hotel parking is full there's ample parking right across the street (parked in both). Only small issue was that windows and doors are not sealed properly so during heavy rain water leaks on window sills and underneath the door - so it's best to keep your shoes or other stuff a bit further.

on the second night of the stay there was a loud party organized in the basement of the hotel, which is completely not understandable. like it wasn't a wedding or something where the people staying over would rent the space for a celebration but a party with posters open to people from outside, organized underneath the hotel rooms ... does the establishment want to be a hotel or a venue? does the management of the establishment have conflicting ideas ?

very quaint old convent setting with beautiful gardens and nice dining area and pool. Felt remote but only 15 minutes from airport.

Our room faced the street and there was road noise from car/truck traffic all throughout the night making for a rough night of sleep…suggest you request a room that does not face the street. If we had stayed for more than 1 night we definitely would have requested to be moved. Breakfast and dinner were both decent, although nothing special.

We had a great stay at Solar do Conde. The room was large and comfortable which was nice because the weather was a bit soggy and windy. The breakfast was ample with lots to choose from and served in a restaurant instead of the lobby 😊

The wiper snipper operator buzzed around our cottage when he could have gone to another unoccupied cottage. The gardens have been neglected. The once old botanical gardens have been neglected for a very long time. Our cottage had broken glass pane. So window was fogged.

Bungalow was separate and was really good. Fully equipped kitchen, good air quality management, cosy view around and outside. Cosy dining area. Nicely illuminated hotel area in evening. It could be perfect place for young couple.

One of the main reasons for ordering this place was "breakfast included". They do offer breakfast and there are things to choose from. But everything from too economical side - sausage instead of bacon, coffee from boiler instead of machine, rather strange desert. Last morning I took just cup of coffee and left for airport... Normally I do enjoy "breakfast included". But everything else was very good.

We loved the little cottages. They were all close, but no noise, very private. Breakfast was great. We enjoyed a short walk into town for dinner and the staff at reception were very helpful with directions and helping with a rental car for the day. We wish we had been there longer.

If some of the people on the bus had not helped us get off the bus at the location, we may not have even seen it. Possibly needs more signage.
