We had an excellent stay in Porto at this hotel, which is extremely well-located (convenient for restaurants, public transport) and within walking distance of nearly all the activities to do in Porto. The value for money is great : clean, with a very simple breakfast (croissants, bread, butter, jam, yogurt, fruit, milk/coffee) but filling, and the staff are very attentive (they speak English for those who don’t speak Portuguese). The hotel’s decor is a bit dated, but when you pay so little for a hotel in such a great location, you have to make some compromises. The most important thing is that it’s clean — which it was during our stay.

It was very central. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom had a bath in it and I prefer a bath to a shower. It was perfect for my needs, as when I visit a city I want to see the sights and experience the attractions that it offers; consequently, all I need from an hotel are a central location, a comfortable bed and a bath.

Very good location, within walking distance of the city centre, shops, restaurants and the river front. Staff was friendly, spoke English and answered all my questions and requests. Room was clean and warm, and the towels were changed daily. The room was bigger than expected. I booked a double room and it had a double bed and a single bed which was a nice surprise.

The lighting in the room and bathroom was not great but I was still able to see everything clearly (I believe that changing the light bulbs with white light will solve the problem). Also, the water in the shower was only half coming out but it was hot enough and I was still able to wash properly.

The location is perfect... Close to everything. Booked the trip close to the booking date. Spent most of the time exploring Porto

The bed was extremely hard. The room layout was different (1 bed in the hallway inside the room) another 3 in the main room. A lot of foot traffic and cars passing the hotel room. Was woken up multiple times due to outside noise.

The location is amazing, staff were friendly, some of them they do not speak English but they try their best to help. And some they speak good English and willing to help as well.

Not many facilities in the hotel but I did not care much as it is almost near everything you may need.

Staff is very polite and very helpful. It's near the train station. Also, a walking distance to the Douro River and well known touristic bridge. You can cross to Gaia and see a beautiful view from Porto and also enjoy a beautiful sunset. I recommend Hotel Girassol.

the accessibility to everything, centrally located, near to hypermarket, restaurants, shops. the staff are also helpful & give you advice. wi-fi works well, rooms are well maintained.

It was the second time I stayed at Girassol. The location is perfect, you are near to São Bento station and a lot of restaurants. The room is comfortable and the bathroom has a good size. Staff is always willing to help.

Great location. Comfy bed. Very clean. Friendly staff. The hotel is ideal for staying in Porto if you just need a room to sleep in. The hotel is near to all the main attractions with most in walking distance.

Perhaps more drawers in the room to store belongings and clothing.

Staff were all excellent and the location superb. Book a room at the front with a balcony on the street. 502 is the one to ask for.

Hotel had some faded grandeur about it. A loose screw here, a broken tile there. The addition of a handyman/women to the team could restore some of the lost glory.
