I paid my visit at the restaurant of this hotel two years ago. And decided to stay here for 6 nights this time. It was a memorable place. The check in was pleasant the front clerk who I didn’t catch the name was nice Even bought us a complimentary dessert and wine to our room. Room was spacious and with a nice view. The hotel located in the middle of town close to everything. All the staff were friendly. I was waiting at my ride in the lobby. I saw one staff chattering up with an older Korean couple. When the old lady even shouted love you to him before she took off with her ride. It was a cutest thing. They have a shoes polisher by the elevator was a life savour after a walk in the raining muddy day. The cleaning lady always greet us daily and asked if we want anything for the room. Great service and nice vibes.

It is the location and the staff . For me as a solo traveller, the location really played an important role in choosing the hotel. I really liked the location as it is in the middle of everything, from the train station to the shopping district and to the sightseeing places. The staff was fantastic- everyone was very helpful ! Thank you so much for making my stay in Porto the best experience ever! This was my first time traveling to Porto and my first solo birthday trip to celebrate my special day. I had never done this before, and I’m very happy to have made the right decision in choosing you, Pestana Porto - A Brasileira! Your staff was fantastic—from the reception to housekeeping, bell boy and the breakfast team. I may not remember all the names, but from the moment I checked in on January 29th at 11:00 AM, despite initially only intending to leave my luggage at reception, Catarina (hopefully I got her name right) informed me that my room was already ready! That was such a pleasant surprise, and I was truly thankful for it. Later that night, another surprise awaited me when Rita from the reception came to my room with a slice of birthday cake and a cute bottle of port wine, wishing me a happy birthday. It was such a sweet and thoughtful gesture! The surprises didn’t stop there. The next morning during breakfast, the staff brought to me another slice of birthday cake with a candle on it! I was truly touched by these thoughtful gestures. Thank you so much again everyone at Pestana Porto - A Brasileira (Catarina, Luis, Rita, Tiago, the housekeeping staff, the breakfast team and few more which I could not remember the name but you know whom I’m referring to, for making my birthday trip to Porto to be the most memorable and wonderful experience ever. The breakfasts were lovely plenty of choice in the main area and excellent alternatives on the menu board with omelettes and selection of different coffees The staff were very very good in the breakfast area and the main person unfortunately we did not catch her name in charge of proceedings was so polite and nothing was too much trouble for her always a cheerful smile and always very attentive

The area below the main dining area is poorly run and the staff not so quite attentive. lovely room but something lacking The evening menu for the dining room is pretty poor and basic but we had recommendations from the desk staff and the choices to end out were exceptional

We especially liked the size of our room (meaning it was comparatively larger than most). We had a nice city view. The bed was very comfortable. Everything was clean and well-maintained. Hotel is conveniently located on Porto side of river in and near shopping and restaurants.

We were told when checking in that Breakfast was served at 730 and so on. They implied that it was included. When we checked out it wa discoverd it was NOT included and we were charged about $12 per person per day. The cost was reasonable. The buffet was nicely done so the complaint is minor. The Booking.com reservation did not say breakfast was included so the error was ours. However, I feel it would have helped us to state on the reservation NOT INCLUDED or the front desk at the hotel also explaining that.

The location of the hotel was super central. It is very easy to walk around and catch the metro as well. We booked an executive room with a view. The room was spacious enough, not too big nor too small. The staff were really nice and accommodating, especially the ladies at the breakfast as well as the front office staff. It was my birthday, so they sent a complimentary cake and processo to the room. Everything was clean and well maintained. I am really happy to have chosen this hotel for our trip.

The staff were pleasant, the location was useful, the room was quiet, the famous cafe was ok, generally an OK hotel.

The room service menu was a shortened version of the restaurant’s offerings, with prices marked up by 12-15%. The first two items I wanted were unavailable, so I opted for a simple snack: chicken wings priced at €9. The order was taken efficiently and delivered promptly. However, I was surprised when the maid requested payment at the door with a card machine and even more so when I noticed an additional €8 delivery charge—an 89% markup on top of the already elevated menu prices compared to the restaurant downstairs. After finishing, I placed the tray outside my door, where it remained for 18 hours. I'm puzzled as to how this establishment maintains a 5-star rating; perhaps the standards in Porto are lower than expected. Ps the in room coffee is a kettle with a sachet of Nescafé

Very good location, near train station, restaurants (thanks to staff for suggestions!), grocery store and other shops. Easy to walk everywhere. Comfortable, spacious room with good AC. Staff very helpful!

Only the metro construction which is a temporary thing and didn’t bother us in the hotel, just had to walk through areas with barriers to get by the station area. Some noise from vendors in the street when we sat outside on the terrace, otherwise very quiet at night. Breakfast was okay but coffee not hot enough, service is a bit slow there. Could use more charging stations in the room. Two per person is ideal. A bit pricey compared to similar Lisbon hotel.

The location was great. The bed was very comfortable. The front desk staff were wonderful! The breakfast amazing.

The service that we received from the Front Desk staff Guilherme & Pedro was superb. We were welcomed with a complimentary drink which was very nice. During check in we have asked about an urgent dry cleaning service as my coat got dirty on the plane, it was very late but they guys managed to find and recommend a self service laundry very close to the hotel that was still open. After we came back to the room we have found 2 more complimentary drinks and a piece of cake with a candle on it as I mentioned to Guilherme and Pedro during check in that it was my birthday. It was a very kind and thoughtful gesture. Very good breakfast buffet with an option to order from a menu. Friendly and pleasant staff. Perfect location, rooms are comfortable and clean. 
I highly recommend the hotel.

The location is great! Very close to the Sao Bento station. The staff was excellent. The beds were comfortable and the room was pretty spacious (considering this is an old building). There is a mini fridge and a kettle to make tea/coffee which was nice. Even though its on a busy street, the windows really block out the noisy. The WiFi was very good.

Skip the restaurant. The food isn’t very good and they are short staffed.
