The location of the hotel is ideal for exploring Porto. We walked everywhere but it is only 200m from the metro station. One thing to note, getting a taxi currently isn't easy due to the amount of roadworks being carried out in the area, traffic is a standstill most the day. The staff are great, the communal areas & rooms are beautifully decorated too. The breakfast is delicious & plenty of choice. We had an early flight home so had a great takeaway breakfast arranged for us.

As with may of the reviews, the bedrooms are far too hot. We couldn't sleep for 2 out of the 4 nights. When I spoke to the reception about the heat issue, they delivered a fan to the room & whilst it was slightly better, still just blew hot air around the room. The A/C only blows out hot air so we were advised to turn it off, can't open the windows either. This is my only negative comment about the hotel stay, but it's quite a big one & needs addressing.

This is a great hotel in the center of Porto, walking distance to tons of shopping and restaurant options plus not too far from the river and all the sights the city has to offer. The room was well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom had everything we needed and the shower had great water pressure with an overhead rainforest option. The breakfast was abundant with excellent variety. The hotel bar was also a nice feature that offered sophisticated drinks which was a perfect way to end each day.

The area around the hotel was under construction but it's the whole center of the city at the moment. This isn't the hotel's fault AND it means that Porto is growing and developing which is only a good thing for tourists.

The location right in the centre of Porto.. All major attractions and sights could be walked to from the hotel. The staff were very friendly and offered wonderful suggestions both for dining out and places not to miss. The restaurant was well priced with good quality food. Breakfast was a buffet giving plenty of choice from hot and cold selections. Something for everyone. Room was comfortable and spacious. Bathroom had a free standing bath(junior suite) which was a nice touch. All in all a great place to stay. Highly recommended.

The hotel is well located for the main station and Metro to the airport. The room was well designed and met all our needs. The breakfast was extensive and good quality. The central heating appeared to require reception to activate it.

A waiter fluffed our credit card charge and instead of Euros we end up paying in GBPounds which cost us an extra 5%. More training needed for this individual.

Unfortunately the restaurant is being refurbished so things were a little disrupted

The desk staff were very helpful. The check in was fast & efficient, and they answered all my questions about local spots to visit.

The breakfast is quite expensive. All we wanted was a coffee and a croissant and it was $17. Just a coffee was $6. Went up the street to the bakery instead. Stop pumping perfume into the elevators. Some people are allergic!

The welcome was very warm and friendly with knowledgeable local team, very helpful The room was superb, the bed was so, so comfortable Location was perfect for train transfers, shopping, bus connections and places to eat. There's a lot of construction work going on and the hotel is just enough away from it so it not to be a bother. Breakfast delicious with plenty of choices for vegetarians, yummy little Portugese custard pastries too!

The lighting and plug sockets around where the kettle is, there was only one so coffee machine & kettle had to be operated separately (not the greatest of problems) but the lighting was a bit dim when machine was in the shelf, could have done with a light coming on !

Comfortable hotel with excellent staff. Breakfast had everything you could wish for. Room was well cleaned and serviced everyday. It was our birthdays whilst we were there and the hotel placed a nice cake and a bottle of sparkling wine in the room for us - very much appreciated. We had to leave very early in the morning for our flight, the hotel provided us with a very acceptable breakfast pack to take with us - great service.

Like most city hotel rooms, the room could have been a little bigger. There was an odd raised cushioned area in the corner of the room. This would be better replaced with a comfortable chair.

The room was fantastic.

Was an episode happened in the bar. We had a free/ welcome drink but when we ordered it and decided to pay for the extras we had. The waiter told us the drink we had wasn’t allowed to have it for free welcome drink. We were allowed only a beer but we had a pint of beer instead of small one and he wouldn’t allowed us to have at least one pint for both of us as a welcome drink. It was a bit frustrating because we paid hundreds of euro to spend the weekend at the hotel and where we are discussing about a welcome drink. The waiter could be more accommodating and helpful and not discussing with us. I did told him if the hotel want to give something for someone have to make clear what and when can the guests have or not offer at all.

The hotel was well located, and had a great ambience. The staff were fantastic from the time we arrived to the time we left. Special mention for Catia and Diogo on the Reception. Restaurant was also excellent, and again, friendly and efficient staff. The room was not large, but was comfortable. Parking in the nearby carpark worked fine. As a result of our experience here, we will be trying other hotels in the PortoBay group.

The restaurant opened for breakfast but there was no facility for someone who only wanted something light, for example a coffee and croissant.
