I must say I was surprised. First of all, the price is very low parallel to all the other hotels nearby and the location is perfect. So I was looking for a catch. The idea is very simple. A cubicle with a bed and a shower. That's it. But very comfortable and quiet. Who needs more? I really enjoyed the environment, the staff (Luiza and Bruno are the ones I remember but all of them were kind, ready to help with everything and gave a feeling of home), the great bar and the rooftop and sauna. I mean, it's another kind of feeling. Great place! Next time when I'm in porto I will come back there.

It's not for everyone. I think that families with children will find this not a suitable for them. Some people will have a problem with the fact that there is no windows or a closet. And the air conditioning is controlized so you can't really low the temperature less then 20 degrees.

Staff friendliness is definite. The concept of the hotel well suited our expectation of the city and showed us how ambitious they are. The concept is well passed down to all the staff. It is a very “socialising” hotel to stay if that is your style of travelling. The hotel clearly states their concept and what they would provide. It is comfortable. However if one is expecting an all-inclusive resort experience, you might be disappointed and I cannot say the blame is on the hotel.

Nothing much. We got the soundproofing issue. However we brought ourselves some earplugs after reading the reviews before departing.

This property is very unique! I didn’t know what to expect but was not disappointed - if you’re after something different then definitely stay here! Everything is clean and well presented and has a very cool vibe in the main lobby. The rooftop is also great! offering breakfast at an extra cost. it seems that they are very inflexible on early check in even if the room is available. It seemed that no matter what, check in would be at 3pm so I wouldn’t even bother pushing this. But in saying that they do have large storage facilities for your bags which is helpful so you can leave them before/after checkout if you need

Location - Centrally located. Everything is pretty much accessible from this property Room - As name said, its a room inside the box but extremely cosy room and bathroom is also quite spacious and clean. I mean if you are staying for couple of days then you don't need much of room amenity right Few other important remarks which I really like in the property 1. They have sauna in the property which is free of charge 2. You have a movie room on the top floor where you can connect your netflix and enjoy a movie night 3. Also they have a tanker like pool on the roof which is quite unique and you can take a dive into that. 4. Last but not the least, they have a storage facility as well so you can keep your luggage and you only have to pay 1 euro for that.

Just stayed for a night so don't have anything to add on what we did not like.

This was a perfect stay: the staff were super friendly and helpful, the location was perfect - lots of restaurants, cafes and shops nearby, it's located quite centrally but nonetheless in a very quiet area. The hotel decor is awesome: a few quirky rooms, e.g. there is a rooftop where you can enjoy your drinks or just chill, a cinema room, a really good restaurant in the hotel itself. A great selection of drinks at the bar also. The rooms are also fantastic: large comfy beds, great shower, everything was really clean and the temperature was perfect (can be varied with an AC). I really really enjoyed my stay! Would certainly recommend anyone travelling to Porto to check this place out.

The only downside is that the rooms are not entirely soundproof: the lovely guests outside wanted to do some chanting and have loud discussions outside of my door despite the entrance telling everyone explicitly to be quiet in the common areas. But hey, it is a box after all :)

Great location. André at the front desk gave me a tour when I arrived and was very helpful. The room is as advertised and the bed was very comfortable.

Loved the location and all the facilities the hotel has to offer. It was a very cool place featuring many environments to relax in. The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. At the desk when I visited was João. He was so professional and easy to chat with - a credit to Zero Box Lodge. Also, there was a young women (I didn't catch her name) but she was also very helpful when I asked for directions to get a few things. The room itself had everything you would need, plus a great bed. The use of wood and concrete works so well. I will definitely visit again.

Honestly, it is amazing, the only negatives or things that could be improved were maybe a slightly better drain in the shower as the water built up a little. And maybe (just a suggestion) to have a built-in desk in the room that can come out of the wall.

Everyone was so friendly! João, Irini, Claudia, Barbara and all of the other staff were exceptionally helpful and welcoming. From pointing out the best attractions to teaching me how to use the crepe maker, they were always available. Also the place was always spotless; common areas were impecable and the elevators always smelled floral.

None of the boxes have windows, but at least you know that up front. So, it's not actually a complaint, just posting to overcommunicate in the reviews!

The location was spot on. 5 minute walk from the metro station, 15 minute walk to the druro river. Bars and restaurants were along the way in each of these directions. Accommodation was brilliant, quirky but really to a high quality standard. Staff were all friendly and polite. Our first night we ate in the butcher style restaurant and if you like your meat this is definitely a place for you as you get to pick your own and also weigh it out. Found it really good value for money, no mod cons but definitely felt very cosy once inside.

The only thing I will say is a glass in your lodge would be great. There wasn’t anything for you to drink out of day if you woke up in the early hours and needed a drink of water. We reused the carlsberg bottle we were given on arrival but this wasn’t 100% practical.

Interesting and novel consept of dropping preconstructed room into a building presumably cutting construction costs. Ironically, the lack of windows helped as I got food poisoning (elsewhere) and was able to sleep through the next day without daylight interference. The rooms were well insulated, so there was no noise from adjacent rooms. Breakfast was good value. Lounge, and rooftop bar/breakfast area available if you want to spend time out of the room.

The bed was a little low to the floor. It would have been nice if raise to allow sitting on edge and even possibly for beds to be slid under the bed to save space. Shower was nice, but the shower gel and shampoo should be on the side nearer the door to increase space in the corner when opening and closing the door.
