The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. The location was perfect. For this price, maybe one of the best hotels. I have been in Porto for 3 nights, 2 of them I stayed in another hotel with approximately the same price, the difference was huge. If I will ever visit Porto again, this hotel will be my first choice. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Porto is very noisy city, and noise isolation is very important, the only problem of this hotel is noise isolation, only because of this fact I am rating this hotel 9/10.

The stay at the hotel was very nice, the location is great, all the main Porto sights are easily accessible by foot and if your plan is too see the city, this is a great option. The room was nice and clean, the beds were comfortable. Also, all the staff members we met, were nice and helpful.

The hotel is quite old, so there was some noise coming from the elevator we heard while sleeping, but it is understandable, also it might just be the location of the room. Also, unfortunately the hotel parking was fully booked at the time of our arrival, so it was a bit inconvenient, but the receptionist helped us solve this problem and offered a different parking nearby.

The hotel Sao Jose is very close to the metro Station Bolhao and the Food Market. From there you reach everything very easily, the walking distance (downhill) to the river and the "Dom Luis I Bridge" is about 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed. The breakfast was good, everything you need for a good start into the day was offered. My room was quiet and furnished typically portuguese - a bit like vintage, I liked it a lot. There is an AC in the room. Everything was clean and and the staff was nice.

The view from my room wasn't that beautiful - but everything else met my expectations :-) So nothing to complain about really.

The staff is great! Everyone was really nice and helpful. The location is unbeatable. You're literally within walking distance of everywhere. It doesn't take longer than 2-3 minutes to get to some of the nicest walking streets, shops and restaurants, and top sights. Plus, the rooms feel a bit more antique in the photos but they're really nice in real life. So, the photos don't really show how nice the rooms are. Everything was super clean. The rooms are cleaned every day and everyone is just really there for you to help if there's anything.

Everything was great! 100% recommend and I'd absolutely stay here again.

The location is excellent, a very good base to explore Porto. Right next to Capela das Almas, Bolhao and Rua de Santa Catarina. Very convenient if you travel by car, it has a small parking for small cars and there are two parking stations around the corner. The room was very big (actually consisting of two rooms, one with a small double bed and one with two singles). The price was very good for Porto. The bistro at the corner and the food court in the shopping center are worth a visit.

It is a dated hotel and the furniture in the rooms reflect this. The bathroom could use some tender loving care. A bit noisy at times. The night staff did not speak adequate English.

The location of the hotel was excellent within walking distance of most of the central features of Oporto. The metro station was just down the street. The room was good with good ensuite facilities. The breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. The hotel staff were excellent at providing answers to questions.

The lighting in the room was not strong enough. The fittings needed stronger bulbs. The bathroom lighting was OK.

Stayed here 2 years ago and found the location excellent. The hotel was very clean and staff friendly and helpful. Would stay here again and tell friends to stay here. Thank you. Ingrid

Sometimes it was noisy at night, but it was people shouting on the street and not the problem with the hotel.

The hotel itself is clean and offers a weary traveler all the basic amenities - a big bed, a decent sized room, a nice hot shower. But what made it exceptionally good was the reception staff, who was very friendly and helpful with everything, including luggage hold. The location is 15-20 minutes walk from the main attractions but it’s easy, European walking. There’s a Starbucks within 1 minute, and a great restaurant Aquele Tasco, right across the hotel. All in all, a great pleasure staying here!

Walking distance from main attractions was 10-20 minutes. Not bad but could have been shorter.

My impression is that the hotel is a "business hotell." Efficient, straighforward, with no emphasis on charm or character. It was clean and nicely appointed with a fridge. That was nice. Staff was friendly, but I didn't really interact with them. I t was nicely located - only a 10-minute walk from the main sights in town. I would stay there again.

The hotel was what I wanted. A place to stay that was reliable and clean. It was not a "boutique" hotel with lots of history, or with a view over the historic center.

Great stay. Beds comfy, room clean and spacious. Good air con/heater. Great location. Small supermarket next door, large one 5 mins down road. Coffee shops and cafes surrounding. Central location. Bolhao tube station to airport a 3 min walk. We had a top floor (4th) end room and it was very quiet. Bathroom a bit outdated but clean. Hairdryer too.
