The room was very clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. The location was perfect. For this price, maybe one of the best hotels. I have been in Porto for 3 nights, 2 of them I stayed in another hotel with approximately the same price, the difference was huge. If I will ever visit Porto again, this hotel will be my first choice. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Porto is very noisy city, and noise isolation is very important, the only problem of this hotel is noise isolation, only because of this fact I am rating this hotel 9/10.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location is great — close to a nice shopping mall — and the price was very reasonable. The room was well-stocked with plenty of towels, everything worked fine, and it was surprisingly quiet. We didn’t encounter any neighbors at all, even though we know the hotel was fully booked, so it never felt crowded.

A few things could be improved: adding a small drying rack or foldable stand for laundry in the room, providing bottled drinking water for each guest upon arrival, and including hand soap.

I liked the location. Close to plenty of stores, restaurants and shops. The beds were soft and comfortable. We did have a view of the street which was nice because there was plenty of light in the morning. The shower pressure was great. The elevator and ac are a plus for sure. I would stay here again

The bathroom is pretty outdated. Maybe some new paint and hooks on an empty wall would look nice. There's nowhere to hang anything in the bathroom. No plug in the bathroom either. No fridge either.

The stay at the hotel was very nice, the location is great, all the main Porto sights are easily accessible by foot and if your plan is too see the city, this is a great option. The room was nice and clean, the beds were comfortable. Also, all the staff members we met, were nice and helpful.

The hotel is quite old, so there was some noise coming from the elevator we heard while sleeping, but it is understandable, also it might just be the location of the room. Also, unfortunately the hotel parking was fully booked at the time of our arrival, so it was a bit inconvenient, but the receptionist helped us solve this problem and offered a different parking nearby.

The hotel Sao Jose is very close to the metro Station Bolhao and the Food Market. From there you reach everything very easily, the walking distance (downhill) to the river and the "Dom Luis I Bridge" is about 15-20 minutes, depending on your speed. The breakfast was good, everything you need for a good start into the day was offered. My room was quiet and furnished typically portuguese - a bit like vintage, I liked it a lot. There is an AC in the room. Everything was clean and and the staff was nice.

The view from my room wasn't that beautiful - but everything else met my expectations :-) So nothing to complain about really.

The staff is great! Everyone was really nice and helpful. The location is unbeatable. You're literally within walking distance of everywhere. It doesn't take longer than 2-3 minutes to get to some of the nicest walking streets, shops and restaurants, and top sights. Plus, the rooms feel a bit more antique in the photos but they're really nice in real life. So, the photos don't really show how nice the rooms are. Everything was super clean. The rooms are cleaned every day and everyone is just really there for you to help if there's anything.

Everything was great! 100% recommend and I'd absolutely stay here again.

The staff were very sweet and helpful. Very close to public transport, and the hotel itself is slap bang in the middle of downtown Porto. Room was clean and comfortable.

The hotel has a parking lot that you can use, but be warned, getting in and out of the parking if you have anything other than a VERY compact car requires a good 10 minutes of maneuvering. We were in a Peugeot 308 and it was a STRUGGLE. That was the only con, otherwise we were very happy with our stay

The location is excellent, a very good base to explore Porto. Right next to Capela das Almas, Bolhao and Rua de Santa Catarina. Very convenient if you travel by car, it has a small parking for small cars and there are two parking stations around the corner. The room was very big (actually consisting of two rooms, one with a small double bed and one with two singles). The price was very good for Porto. The bistro at the corner and the food court in the shopping center are worth a visit.

It is a dated hotel and the furniture in the rooms reflect this. The bathroom could use some tender loving care. A bit noisy at times. The night staff did not speak adequate English.

The location of the hotel was excellent within walking distance of most of the central features of Oporto. The metro station was just down the street. The room was good with good ensuite facilities. The breakfast was excellent with a very good choice. The hotel staff were excellent at providing answers to questions.

The lighting in the room was not strong enough. The fittings needed stronger bulbs. The bathroom lighting was OK.

Very good location, comfortable. It really felt like a good vacation.

The hotel is advertised as having parking. Partially true. They have a very limited parking space underground and only if you have a small car and good driving skills you can fit in. Usually they redirect you to a private parking near by, that gives you a discount as being a hotel customer. 12 euros instead of 32 per day
