The rooms are an excellent size and staff are helpful and friendly. Food is good

The pool and pool area is a little small. At times the pool was over crowded there were no loungers available. Half of the lounger cushions are not great quality / comfortable. It seems a shame that there is a whole sun deck that unused (adults area / quiet zone). This is set up with tables and chairs but in the two weeks we were there I didn’t see it used once. It seems to me that this would be the perfect place for a extra loungers and perhaps a smaller plunge pool or similar?

Due to the weather falling in the mid teens , the pool was freezing so children could not access a pool to swim , was even hard for an adult to stay in longer than 10 mins . While I completely understand the indoor pool is adults only, I feel in the off season the hotel should allow access to the pool for even an hour a day for children as it is their holiday as well , and it was disappointing that kids could not access a pool for the trip due to the temperature.

Great value for money. Staff were highly helpful and attentive. We liked the spa area, which is silent, clean and well-maintained. Quinta do Lago area was also very impressive. You just need to drive in 10-15 minutes to get to cool walking paths, and amazing restaurants.

Great selection at breakfast, comfortable room and although not there to stay in and watch TV, it was great to have Sky Channels (especially Sky golf which meant we could watch the latch finish to the US Open).

The initial welcome at reception could have been a little warmer from one staff member in particular. The same member of staff came to us three nights later whilst we were in the bar having a drink to advise us that our room was ready. He was clearly mixing us up with another couple waiting to check in but having already been there for 3 days, it showed a little lack of attention to detail when recognising guests. Not a great issue but sometimes the little detail is the difference between a good customer experience and exceptional.

The service in the restaurant was extremely inefficient. Staff seemed to be new and there was an air of chaos. One main course was not delivered even after almost an hour of waiting

Staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful. The suites are spotlessly clean, well equipped, modern and comfortable. The welcome fruit tray is a lovely touch. The breakfast is outstanding with plenty of choice - something for all tastes and needs. We loved the relaxing ambience at breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble for staff and it was lovely to enjoy breakfast without feeling rushed.

It may be the time of year, but we found the suite quite dark and needed to have lights on at all times. There is very little privacy when sitting outside, with just a corner hedgerow dividing spaces. Unfortunately, in spite of attentive staff and a reasonable food offering, the bar is abysmal. It totally lacks atmosphere, with very few guests using it. Drink prices are expensive, which may prevent guests from using the bar. A car is essential if staying at the Wyndham, which is a little off the beaten track. There are only so many times one can walk the Fermosa (beautiful as it is!)

Great location and service. Rooms were spacious and extremely clean. Breakfast is mostly good. Childcare was attentive and well organized. Overall it is a great hotel with dedicated and highly professional staff.

The parking underground is horrible. Difficult to enter or exit and extremely tight spaces. The coffee in the hotel is absolutely NOT ok, for a 5 star premium hotel serving burnt tasting Nespresso is simply unacceptable. Nespresso is for ok for an AirBnB and Bed& Breakfast but NOT a top of the line resort. Lastly the beds were very uncomfortable.

The suite was great, notwithstanding the initial issue with neighbours cooking smells and a leaking sink, but overall it was exactly what we wanted for our stay and we were delighted with it. I felt that the restaurants could be better. The main restaurant had what we felt was a pretty limited range and it wasn't cheap. The bar food was absolutely fine, although again not cheap, and the service sometimes left something to be desired. Overally all though it was lovely and the staff dealt with the issues we had very promptly and professionally. We would certainly go back.

Cleanliness, friendly & helpful staff, excellent rooms

Housekeeping rarely made up our room before 4pm Despite numerous requests, we were rarely able to get hot tea at breakfast. It was invariably lukewarm. It seems that the water is now kept in flasks. We never had that problem before The quality of the breakfast offering, although still decent, has dropped since our previous visit in January The XXL restaurant is poor value for money in comparison with external restaurants of comparable quality. We probably won’t use it on future visits
