It was the perfect location close to airport and Dublin. Surrounded by gardens it was an oasis. Love the history of the castle. Our room was very comfortable and clean. We stayed two days and our room was tided up while we were out. Very nice. We ate in the Knights Lounge both evenings and the food was delicious and no more expensive than other restaurants we ate at. We had the same server each time and Marta remembered us despite the crowds! The buffet breakfast was plentiful and good. The scones were particularly delicious. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.

Loved the property and the beautiful sitting space next to fireplace & the lore of the castle …. and I especially appreciated Marilena (sp? ; - ) and the rest of your wonderful front-desk staff. This is a minor observation — I recommend putting up some paintings or framed sketches or other touches of decor for the hallways leading down to the rooms on the first floor. The walls are empty and that doesn’t match the charming decor of the Central space. If it were decorated, the hallways would feel integrated with the rest of the place in a pleasant way.

I’ve stayed in Clontarf Castle before and it’s always lovely. The surroundings are beautiful, the Art Trail is an added bonus, the staff are most pleasant and helpful. The food options range from casual to fine dining so there’s something to suit everyone. I had contacted the hotel beforehand to clarify a request and they couldn’t have been more helpful. We arrived early, a few hours before scheduled check in time, were able to check in and leave our bags at the desk while we went for food. Our room was ready ahead of schedule and when we arrived to collect our room key we had been given a complimentary upgrade to a Junior suite. The room was delightful as was the bathroom. We loved the Field Day toiletries…great to see this hotel supporting Irish products. Breakfast next morning was perfect; lots of choice and great service.

There was nothing I didn’t like about the property and I hope to return again in the future.

The decor at this hotel is magical. We celebrated my daughter’s birthday and she got a lovely gift and we got a room upgraded. The room was stunning. The kids didn’t want to leave because the room was so fun to play in, and I really enjoyed relaxing in the room. We also really enjoyed exploring the art and the beautiful secret spaces and the little garden. The breakfast was to die for. The location was really nice too, close to the water, but also near a big grocery store, which helped with picky eaters. We feel most thoroughly spoiled.

There was an event at the hotel on one of the days, and from lunch till late at night there were so many people and there was no place to sit in the public spaces. It was kind of sad we could t explore the property as freely that day. We made up for it the next day though. But it would have been nice to know ahead of time there’s gonna be a long event, so we would have started our day earlier that day. That said, I am still so glad we came.

We were thrilled with the reception staff. Not overwhelmed with a young man in the bar area where we had dinner. Never checked on us and left his shift without a word. Had a lovely lady the next night when we went in for drinks. The staff at the breakfast in the morning where not overly helpful and never brought us coffee the first day. Had to ask the manager after 3 failed attempts to get some. He was amazing and checked on us the next morning to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall we loved our stay. I mean, it's a castle!! Our room was nice and quiet, we asked for robes and feather pillows which were brought up right away. Our room was made while we were at breakfast. We took our hotel given waters with us to head out for the day. Once we returned, we found fresh waters had been resupplied. We would definitely go back. ITS a CASTLE after all.

Service in the breakfast area, and The Bar as described, I don't think the young man wanted to be working.

The Staff were very professional and courteous throughout the Hotel. The Service was great and we were made to feel very welcome. The Room was Spotlessly clean, very comfortable and well presented. The Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast buffet was very well stocked with plenty of options and everything was delicious.

While we booked to stay at this hotel as a special treat to ourselves to avoid a trek back into City Centre on the Dart or in a Taxi after a concert locally, €399 per night for two guests still seemed a bit high.

This was the tail end of our two-week stay in Ireland. After a string of lower comfort lodgings, coming to the Clontarf Castle was a real treat with a comfortable bed, a quiet relaxing stay, and supportive staff. We greatly appreciated that even though our clothing felt out of place with the high quality of appearances, the staff treated us equally and politely!

Our room ended up being above the second floor bar and coming in on a Saturday night we could hear the hum of the party below us. While not terrible (great insulation between floors), it was felt with the sub woofers thumping.

We loved the room and the overall hotel decor! Our bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was perfect, and the view was magical with the castle and water view. We also really enjoyed the onsite restaurants (especially for lunch/dinner)—especially the caramel cheesecake!

I would have loved some additional breakfast options for American-style breakfast, such as an omelet station or pancakes (the scrambled eggs were very runny). The other suggestion would be to add a small marketplace area at the hotel where you can quickly purchase snacks/drinks, this would have helped a lot.

The Clontarf Castle is a most luxurious hotel to stay in. It is perfect. We have stayed in this beautiful castle and from the moment you step inside, the reception staff Robert is a gentleman and ever so pleasant, staff in knlights bar exceptionally nice Elaine and Louise what a welcome, smiling and chatty really nice ladies. Our room was fabulous, immaculate and wonderful decor as it is throughout the hotel, loved the artwork adorning the Castle walls. This hotel is what everyone expects from a hotel stay, lovely place, nice atmosphere and ambience, comfortable and luxurious with lovely staff enhancing your stay.

Bar staff in knights bar were a little disorganised and some of the glasses had lipstick on them, also heard another customer complaining in regard to this. It appeared to be an inconvenience to have cocktails made at one point. Waitress was slightly rude so we opted out of eating there. A table tab was started which we hadn’t agreed to mid way through for drinks (we had been paying cash at the bar ) although another younger waitress sorted this out and was apologetic for the error. However everything else was fine and the rest of the staff elsewhere were more than polite and friendly.
