I love the location of this hotel, the staff are the best, Cyril especially, she almost missed her lunch break trying to help us

apartment 403. We did not like the condition of the room, the repair and maintenance have a lot to be desired, eg: there was a wall light shade missing, the plug in the bathroom hand basin did not work, one of the electric plugs near the sink you had to wriggle the plug to make it work, sometimes the entry door latch did not work leaving it open to robbery, the wooden screen doors was in great disrepair, the bedroom wall was missing giving the main bedroom no privacy, the floor was not as clean as I would have expected. I have stayed in this hotel for three consecutive years in three different apartments and this was the worst one there was minimal furniture not homely at all.

Perfect location on the waterfront and right opposite the lagoon. Bars, restaurants and boat tours all at your doorstep. Great night food market downstairs also.

Room cleans daily. but in saying this it was outlined that cleans would only happen weekly. Just would be nice to have a tidy and bed made etc daily as part of the stay.

The location is probably the best in Cairns. It’s situated right above the Night Market, just steps from the Esplanade Lagoon—you can easily go back and forth in your swimwear. There’s a café at the market entrance that serves great coffee and pastries from early morning. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

However, the property was more worn-out than expected. The furniture and kitchenware felt quite cheap, and there was a gap under the front door that let in a lot of noise and wind, making the room poorly soundproofed. Although it seemed relatively quiet despite being above the market, on the last night, drunk guests were loudly talking and slamming doors until 4am (the doors of their own rooms). I didn’t call anyone, assuming there were no staff on duty at night, but apparently you can contact an emergency number and a staff member will assist you—good to know in advance. It was peak season, so the price was quite high, and for that rate, there were definitely some disappointments. I think I would have been more satisfied had I stayed during the low season.

Location was excellent. Situated above the night markets, cafes and restaurants on the Esplanade. We had an ocean view apartment with balcony, apartment 501 on the 5th floor which was fabulous overlooking the ocean and the Cairns Lagoon. This apartment is only serviced once weekly, however if you need extra toilet paper or towels in the meantime they will provide them for you. No Breakfast at this property but has a nice kitchen with cooking facilities, fridge, kettle, washing machine, utensils, cutlery, plates, bowls, glasses etc. Woolworths supermarket and BWS is 180m walk away. Large bathroom with walk in shower. 2 min walk to Cairns Marina where tours leave from. 10 mins to Airport, an Uber costs less than $20. This property has a small pool onsite and only 1 min walk to the Lagoon. we couldn’t have picked a better location for our stay. There is also a Toyr desk onsite, this property is family friendly and well worth a stay!

Excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, clean establishment - just a few reasons we have booked Breakfree Royal Harbour stays regularly for quite a few years now.

It was unfortunate that the spa bath in our Ocean View apartment no longer works and had been decommissioned, but fully understood that these are basically unserviceable due to the major de-construction work that would be required to access any components. The spa unit will need to be converted to a walk-in shower, a much better solution as we found the spa bath floor to be slippery when getting in and out and also when standing in it to use the shower, making it necessary to keep one hand holding onto the grab handle as much as possible for safety. It was also unfortunate that Booking.com whom we booked through this time, instead of direct with the hotel as is our usual practice, show that the Ocean View apartment has a spa.

Top location with fantastic views. Clean and tidy apartment . Never had any problems parking. All the team on front desk are very nice. We arrived late due to flight time but the receptionist just leaving went back inside to assist us. Very thoughtful. Didn't use the pool but it looked clean and the garden area was well tended. Cairns is wonderful with the excellent brewery Hemingways on the waterfront. We did a self drive to the Kuranda Sky rail / train / bus back to car and it worked really well.

Maybe it was a little dated and the bathroom had a tiny musty smell (as there is no fan) but really for the view and location and everything else it did offer, it was absolutely not a problem for us. We would happily return.

The location is fantastic, you are so close to restaurants, bars, supermarket and the harbour. The garden area with barbecue facilities are well kept with lovely garden area and clean barbecue area. We had a garden view room, but it was high enough to see the sea, it was a lovely view through the day and the evening you had the view of the wheel. Although your so close to everything the nouse levels were fine. The apartment was big enough for 3 of us with my son in the living room on the sofa bed. Overall we loved it and would deffo recommend

The bathroom was a smaller than needed for 3 people, we did find it slightly small and restricted wity a shower & washing machine in the same room but understand there isnt much that can be done and having the washing machine was a great benefit. The one main feedback is the cooking and eating utensils were lacking if you wanted to eat in. But there is so many places to choose from eating in we didnt really do.

Really nice room, view, location, staff we had really great time thanks to BreakFree Royal. Also kids really liked pool too! So closes to supermarket and Esplanade and I really want thank hotel staff members since they are very nice and supportive.

1)Room wifi was portable Wifi and we could not connect device more than 4. 2)the price we paid on booking.com website and charged by hotel were bit different. We leaned that there was credit card surcharge in Australia. It might less confusing if booking.com could include credit card surcharge on prince on website

Fabulous location, great views over the water. Very very close to the Esplanade and harbour which is where you want to be whether you're a family, couple, or single traveler. Soo awesome to have a washer, too. Great value for Cairns. Kitchenette was terrific and jacuzzi bath was a bonus. Would definitely stay again.

There was a festival going on and it was quite noisy because that was right under us. Also nightlife...think bands playing in bars and typical party sounds. It didn't really bother us that much when we were inside and we even had a baby (she didn't wake up). If you keep your door shut it's pretty muted. But it did take the fun out of sitting on the balcony. It's the price you pay for being so conveniently located.

Staff were super friendly and helpful. Location was amazing. The apartment was good value for money and had everything we needed.

Perhaps an air con or fan in the bedroom would be good. As we had three people staying in the one bedroom apartment (one on sofa bed in living area) we couldn’t leave air con on all night as person in living room would get cold. As there were no windows in the bedroom it did feel slightly stuffy. However, this wouldn’t be an issue for just two people staying.
