The room we had faced a busy alleyway but with the windows and shutters closed, it was perfectly quiet. The only noises came from patrons slamming the door shut downstairs. Downstairs is a bijou wine bar with the most exceptional tapas made by Nazare (spelling) chef - she was definitely Michelin* and creative with her tapas (mackerel ceviche, tomato salad with tomato ice cream, pulpo ). The room and bathroom were very clean and well presented and stocked with welcome goodies of water, juice and muffin. The room also had a good stash of coffee pods and green tea for the coffee machine. Definitely local to Santiago de Compostela and On the Caminho de Santiago route. Worth it even though a little pricey (light bulb needs changing on the staircase as it’s dark).

Front door slams shut (rather than a quiet closure) - parents could be more considerate? Maybe perhaps the lack of light on the staircase - important when arriving late at night and leaving early morning …

Great location on Rua do Franco within walking distance of train/bus stations and the university, the great Parque Alameda and of course the cathedral -- probably 7-10 minute walk. Dozens of bars and restaurants within the area. But the street level of this Hostal has a wine bar and restaurant that is very good, without the tourist vibe of most of the rest of the street. Excellent staff and creative food, including a well-priced tasting menu. Loved it. The room was very nice, great bed and super shower and thick, fluffy towels. Has a mini-fridge, a one shot coffee/tea maker and large TV. Shuttered windows open onto the often busy street. For a fairly hopping Friday/Sat stay it was quiet after 11pm. Just a very homey, comfortable quality spot.

Todos es bueno ..

Really nice and spacious room that has been renovated to high standards. Lots of space. Great bathroom. Large bed. Nice views. Fridge + snack facilities. Very comfortable and welcoming place to stay right in the middle of the main restuarant street in old town. Was not expecting it to be so nice - highly recommend as a place to stay.

Nothing - was excellent overall. Only thing to deal with is access as it is in a pedestrian zone so need to carry bags a few hundred meters...but very small inconvenience and unavoidable

Located right in the heart of Santiago on a busy pedestrian street - right next to the Santiago Cake shop. Despite this, the room was quiet at night, once all the shutters had been shut.

Small double bed. Room is big enough to accommodate a larger bed.

The cleanliness, charming and modern decor lending to its welcoming atmosphere. And the owner/manager as well as the staff were also helpful and very friendly.

What could have been better? Maybe change the flooring. The other guest who was staying on the floor above us and directly over our room came back at 1:20am and whatever he/she was doing, walking from one end of the room to the other was audible almost palpable. This went on for a good hr. Then noise from hotel restaurant guests in the ground floor as well as nearby restos were also noisy past 12pm. The staff who eventually left late past midnight kept trying to punch in the code to lock up and the noise just kept on. I am unfortunately a light sleeper so a slight noise eventually wakes me up.

This was my 6th time in Santiago, and I’ve stayed at various hotels in the old town after walking the Camiño - but this one is the best! It’s incredibly central, yet surprisingly quiet after midnight. The room had air conditioning, which I really appreciated since it was quite chilly during my stay. I loved the minimalistic yet comfortable interior, the perfect location, smooth communication, and the thoughtful touch of umbrellas available to borrow. Highly recommend.

The location is fantastic, very close to the cathedral. Big room, clean, easy entry. The staff wer friendly and gave us necessary directions and accomodated special requests. Our room was also surprisingly quiet in the evening despite the guest house being in a middle of the old town street busy with tourists.

It's not really a hostel (is this some kind of trick with "hostal" in the name?), rather individual apartments. There is no common space for the guests and no kitchen. Some of the photos were misleading as they showed some couches - but the couch was just another bed in our room.

Friendly communication via WhatsApp, easy access via door codes, clean room, two umbrellas available, soap and blow dryer. Central location, therefore the noise is to be expected. Earplugs were kindly supplied! Water, juice in the fridge, coffeemaker (didn´t use it).

The odour of the floor detergent was literally breathtaking for more than one day. One more blanket would be nice as there were two separate beds. Expensive - priced like a hotel but without the amenities.

This Hostal is located only a 5 minute walk from the Cathedral in an area full of restaurants and bars - what a perfect location! Our large two-bed room was spacious and had very comfortable beds and linen. Having air conditioning was wonderful! This was the most comfortable and luxurious of any accommodations we experienced on the entire Camino, and at a reasonable price. We plan to use this facility when we next visit Santiago de Compostela.

Central location in the old town. Very close to the Cathedral. Good sized room with extra touches such as muffin and juice in room for breakfast. Also had a kettle. Very clean and comfortable.

Had to enter through the restaurant/bar. Was a little noisy if facing the street. Required internet to get entry codes and to know if the room was ready. A little difficult if only relying on wifi.
