This is an absolutely amazing location - located close so that everything I needed was easily in walking distance, but just enough distance away from central that it was reasonably quiet. The suite was lovely, comfortable, and well insulated from road noise. The spa bath was a dream! I did greatly appreciate the make up removers provided as part of the bathroom facilities, and overall was very impressed with what had been provided. The owner is very knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly accomodating. While I didn’t have the time to visit the recommended locations, I will absolutely make time to do so in my next visit. I will be exclusively staying here every time I have a trip to Dunedin now.

The only thing for me was that it took me a couple of tries to properly understand how the washer/dryer worked, as I couldn’t easily find instructions in the room but a quick google search took care of that for me so not really a biggie. It didn’t make an impact on my overall experience.

Our hosts Barry & Donna were delightful and very welcoming and gave us lots of ideas of things to do and places to go in and around Dunedin. The accommodation was immaculate inside & out, spacious and extremely well maintained - a real gem. It's self contained and provided everything we needed, along with some extra treats. Its central location meant we could walk to many great historic attractions, eateries, shops and gardens. A delightful drive along Portobello Road right on the water front led to a turn off to the beautiful, historic Larnarch Castle & gardens, a Dunedin icon. A wonderful afternoon and both attractions, along with the Dunedin Railway station and Settlers Museum not to be missed. We loved Dunedin, enhanced by our stay at Amross Motel. Thank you so much Barry & Donna. We hope to get back to Dunedin and will definitely stay there again. Very highly recommended particularly if you can stay for a few nights or more!

Pleasantly furnished large rooms with a very comfortable bed. Good size parking spaces, enough for each room. Cooking and eating utensils, towels and bed linen all spotless and new. Excellent toiletries including makeup remover pads and dark face towel. Hosts especially nice and helpful, lovely people. Just a block or two walk to a large supermarket, cafes, restaurants and the main mall. Good location.

Nothing to do with the Amross Hotel, but there was some renovation at the building next door and the guys did start quite early during the week. Guess they will finish soon?

Comfortable room in convenient location for exploring Dunedin. All areas of the city were easily walkable.

Would have liked a dining table to eat at for self catering although we managed with the arm chairs and low coffee table. It was a bit noisy from rowdy students in the early hours on Friday and Saturday nights but we think that was because the university students were all returning for their orientation week when we stayed. Sunday night was very quiet as they were hopefully partied out!

As soon as we arrived Donna proactively gave us a quick tour of the city on what we can do, where we can go, where to eat etc which was so helpful given that we were there just for one night. The property exceeded our expectation. We also had a hot tub (jacuzzi) in the room. The room was clean and had all amenities. Would highly recommend staying here if you are exploring Dunedin. It's a beautiful town with beautiful architecture & more

Nothing about the property but wished we spent more time in Dunedin as it has lots to offer.

We had a 2 bedroom & one bathroom unit which is on the second level. It was clean and spacious. Parking was available and convenient. The property owners were friendly and welcoming and gave us some local tips about things to do and see.

The location is on the main road in the city centre and close to the university so there was a bit of street noise at night. Loud voices, people out partying. Our room was towards the front of the property which probably didn’t help but closing the windows did!

The entire property was very well maintained and clean with free parking. The owners were on site and phenomenal to deal with. They helped us with our bags, gave dining recommendations, and made sure that everything was perfect. Our apartment had two bedrooms, a kitchen, and common area and everything was clean, comfortable, and updated. The property was convenient to the majority of our activities in Dunedin and we would definitely stay here again!

A great gem in Dunedin. Nice and central and walking distance to the town centre. A great place called Buster Greens is FANTASTIC for all food and easy walking distance. Room was spotless, well appointed and the bed - comfy! The hosts Barry and Donna were exceptional and we would highly recommend this motel to anyone wanting value, comfort, convenience and cleanliness in Dunedin. Thanks Barry and Donna.

This was my second time staying here. The room had lots of space, was warm, and had windows on 3 sides. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and would always chat with you as you walked past. The location is great - a 10-minute walk into town and the gardens. Tea/coffee/biscuits were topped up daily as were the towels. Would definitely stay again!

There is not much not to like.

The facilities were excellent and attention to detail was fantastic eg the bedside lamps had 2 settings so could get low light - most others use white LED’s. Barry at Reception actually greeted us - so often these luxury (loose interpretations) stand alone “Apartments“ and “Villas”,have no one at reception and leave notes etc for entry instructions. One even left us notes to take the garbage bins out to the kerb. I also loved the fact they offered Sky service. Most of the ‘stand alones’ advertise Netflix but that’s only the preloaded app on the TV - you have to use your own account??
