Room was very clean and serviced each day. Bed was really comfortable. Meals in evening on the whole where good. Staff are friendly and efficient

Breakfast was poor 1st morning waited 40 mins there were only 6 people having breakfast. I asked for poached egg on toast they were like hard boiled eggs!! Bread for toast is really nice bread but not suitable for toast. Hubby had full english mushrooms seemed as if they had been reheated.or stale fryed egg was hard and breakfast was luke warm 2nd morning we ordered beans & egg on toast and beans & mushroom on toast. Again was luke warm and same issue with toast. Where not offered any cereal we chose not to have breakfast there the other 2 days.

Beautiful old pub set in the picturesque Port Sunlight. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. For the price the food was excellent. Ideal location for the Gladstone theatre where we enjoyed an excellent show.

Room was clean but very basic. That said it satisfied our needs so no big grumble there. Problem was in the morning I turned the shower on and had a decent flow of water so I waited for it to warm up for my morning ablutions, and waited, and waited and waited. Double checked the taps and then waited, and waited. You get the picture. I eventually gave up had a cold wash as best I could dressed and went for my very good breakfast. Explained the cold water problem at reception and was informed by a very polite and pleasant receptionist that the hot water does take a long time to reach the rooms. OK but this was like over the ten minutes I’d given it so if it was that then please put one of your little notices up advising us that it takes a while to warm up. Forewarned and forearmed?

Let’s get one thing straight, the Bridge Inn is a 19th-century hotel. I’ve seen some reviews from people clearly expecting a 5-star experience at 2-star prices, which always baffles me. For me, the staff made the stay exceptional. Sean was the first person I met on arrival and gave me the distinct impression he had two identical brothers working with him because he seemed to be everywhere at once! 🙏 The hotel is in a fantastic spot, just an eight-minute walk from the train station and set in a beautiful location. It’s very central for getting around, and considering the price, they offer a lot of value. All in all, definitely a great place to stay and enjoy the area.

If I’m being picky, there’s room for a bit more attention to detail. A small light in my room wasn't working and the chips at oneeal were a touch overdone. Honestly, nothing that would put me off staying again.

We have stayed here twice now because of its location in beautiful Port Sunlight. Free Parking. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. Lovely big room. The train station is a 10 minute walk away, and there are regular trains to the centre of Liverpool or Chester. For £7.50 you can get a smart card with a day's travel anywhere in Liverpool on train, bus and ferry across the Mersey. (£1 for reusable card + £6.50 for train, bus ferry travel)

The only negative is that the stair carpet leading to rooms needs replacing. It is covered in tape on the edges for safety, but it is off-putting when you first arrive and are being taken to your room. But this did not detract from our wonderful stay.

It has period charm. Having the pub/restaurant within the same building made it perfect for us. Enjoyed having breakfast in the separate restaurant. Beds were very comfortable. Sean and the team were first class.

Whilst the staff work hard to ensure that rooms are clean, the room could benefit from a refurbishment. It is looking very tired and scruffy in places - carpet and paintwork in particular.

The room was very good, the bed really comfortable. The staff were helpful and courteous and the overall impression was of a clean, welcoming establishment that was worth the charges. The food was good and sufficient for me.

There were a small number of things that could have been a little better. I had a major issue, however, with the shower. I am age 82, disabled in several ways, not the least of which is Arthritis of the spine, neck and ankles and, as there were no 'Grab Rails' for physical support and steadying myself making it dangerous for me should I have stepped into the bath to shower. The carpet on the stairs up to the rooms is somewhat heavily threadbare in places which leaves an impression of lack of care (I know that this is an expensive point but, feel it wise to be honest. Lastly, the Full English Breakfast was let down by the fact that the sausage was over cooked and the mushrooms appeared to have been cooked in to much oil/fat.

Excellent location in Port Sunlight. Ideal location for visiting Art Gallery, Museum, Gladstone Theatre and walking around heritage site. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food choices extensive, well prepared and reasonably priced. Well stocked bar Bedroom a little dated but clean, comfortable. Usual facilities hair drier, ironing board etc. Large car park

Generally Hotel requires refurbishing and redecorating/ updating inside and out, stair carpets worn and patched. General air of a little run- down. Does not detract from advantage of location

The room was clean and well equipped . The bed was very comfortable, nice soft duvet and bedding. Good shower and lovely towels. Good breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We only ate in on one of the evenings, with friends, and we were all very pleased with the meals, especially the steaks.

Some of the decor and carpets in the corridors are rather worn, but that is understandable in such an old listed building.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Simple but very comfy room (lovely bed) with all the facilities necessary. It's a bit quirky because its an Edwardian building (120 years oldish) with lots of the original features - lots of heavy, dark wood about and stained glass in every door. There was also a lovely smell of a coal fire in the lobby (not the bedrooms). Some of the corridor carpets might have been installed on new build! :-) The local area Port Sunlight - is great for an evening walk and architecturally very interesting. If you need a super new, anti septic hotel its not for you but if you want somewhere with character book it now.

The Room is lovely..and the place welcome pets..sorry but we only needed the room..we did not have food in this place. The staff were good enough to print me the map to go to Wirral because I ran out of data on my phone...Thank you very much for the very kind staff who were on duty on the 8 of the 8th..It is very highly appreciated.

I find it hard to operate the shower..i spend more time working the right temperature than having a shower so I just ran the bath instead which is not very much for my liking
