I had a glorious weekend at Highfield Park, which impressed immediately due to the grandeur of the building and the very helpful and friendly staff. It was great to be able to read about the history of the building, as it was the former resident of Prime Minister Chamberlain. I loved the atmospheric bar, with its stylish green walls, the friendly bar staff, and the wonderful food in the restaurant. It was also great to sit outside on the terrace in the morning or evening looking out onto the distant pasture, and walking just on dusk around the grounds on an early summer evening was sublime. There is a lot of history to dig into in the area: St Michael's church is on the doorstep, a Commonwealth War cemetery just around the corner, small pathways past historical and new villas, and lovely country lanes - perfect for walking. I hope to stay again.

My room was lovely, clean and neat. There were tea and coffee facilities and some lovely smellies in the bathroom with plenty of towels. The staff were absolutely amazing, I could not fault them at all, they never missed a beat, even interacting with my son and ensuring we had everything we needed. The food was quite pricey but not overly so.....if im honest it was worth the cost, absolutely delicious, well presented and a good range. I will definitely visit this place again.
The bed was a little uncomfortable, I slept in a dip for 2 nights and on the 2nd day the water was cold and myself and my son had quite cold showers whoch wasnt great.

Environment, grounds, staff: Lovely property and charming staff. Reception area very welcoming, nicely arranged. The grounds were absolutely lovely. Room was spotless.
My overall experience was very pleasant. The following are just suggestions, small details that could make a big difference: Staff levels Potential minor 'understaffing' due to wedding event, staff did seem to be rather under pressure, though very gracious with any delays in service which I appreciated. Lighting in dining room very harsh and un-appealing, some ambient lighting would be inexpensive but would make a huge difference, potentially encourage more residents to dine. Guests sitting/reading room A nice touch to have some books or magazines in this area. Room No bedside table or lighting. Showerhead needs a good clean.

We had a most comfortable peaceful nights sleep in a lovely room. Perfect pillows - one firm and one soft. The setting is fields all around so no traffic noise yet you are a couple of minutes drive from the A33. The staff were charming and helpful. I liked the hydration station too, so I could help myself to chilled water with option for lemon infusion! We also had a walk in the grounds the next day.
If I had to find something to critique, and it would be hard, some of the windows need painting and repair on the outside. But mostly the hotel was in excellent decorative order. I’m sure this is next on the job list!

I was working a night shift locally and the reception staff was exceptionally helpful in allocating me a quiet and warm room in the courtyard. She also was super helpful at arranging me a continental breakfast, kept to one side for me to have late morning, after my post shift sleep. I really couldn't have asked for more. The decorations around the hotel were so beautiful, even though I was away with work, I felt properly in the festive spirit while there. I will be visiting again, bringing my husband next time!
The shelf in my bathroom was broken and the electric sockets in the bedroom were in a less than ideal position - minor points against an otherwise perfect stay.

Highfield Park is a mansion house with an annex likely converted from stables. Both the main house and the annex (Fir Tree Court) are well apointed, clean and bright, with a slight overtone of conference centre accommodation. The annex is a short walk across the car park to the main house for breakfast, which on a mild day may be enjoyed externallly under cover with views across the valley. Breakfast starts promptly from 0700hrs weekdays with full cooked breakfast buffet, together with cold meet, cheese, cereal, fruit salad, hot and cold drinks. The rooms are clean and well appointed with desk, chair tve, and hot drink making facilities, with ironing facilities available on request/demand. The main house also has a bar/lounge area, and electric vehicle charging points for hotel guests. If you have the time there is plenty of external space to explore and/or catch up on your early morning runs.
Nothing... rapidly becoming my 'go to' accommodation when in the area. (If you park in the main parking area, look out for the holly bushes, they are full of berries which will challenge your car's paintwork!)

I stayed here last summer and I'm here for another two consecutive weekends now... Great hotel - providing value for money... Room was comfortable and I ordered Gourmet burger meal which was really delicious... The pro's outweigh the cons.. I loved sitting outside on the patio area and lawns.. The views over Hampshire are spectacular...
I wish the staff were a bit more engaging and smiled more... They looked very busy and the bar was empty a lot of the time..

Everything, thought we was at the wrong place when we was driving down the long drive, came to the house it looked great. Was welcomed by a very friendly chap who was so helpful, he booked us in and showed us the way to our room., it was lovely and clean and comfortable. We was mistaken by the time for breakfast we thought it was 7 but that's at weekends, we was going to a car show so needed to leave early the same man arranged with the chef and breakfast staff to sort us out it was lovely and lots to choose from Our stay was great from start to finish. Well done to all of the staff, especially the friendly man that was there when we arrived.
Speedy ramps, but that was because our car was low.

My room was comfortable , and I liked the (double) bed being partially enclosed in a corner, which felt cosy. I had great views across the garden. The room was well-maintained, and the decor fresh. The location is peaceful and quiet.
I couldn't use the TV late evening because the next-door neighbour banged on the wall, which must have been pretty thin since I didn't turn the volume up high. I could have done with a slightly bigger surface space for kettle/tea tray, fan etc..

I liked the low-cost room rate I received at short notice. The bathroom was spacious, and the hotel staff were very accommodating. The scent running through Fir Tree Court was lovely. The grounds were nice, although I would have liked to explore more. Dave, who ran the breakfast room, was a sheer delight to see in the morning.
The room was compact. I'm only 5'1 but taller guests may find this an issue (top floor, room 30, fir tree court) The bed could have benefited from having a headboard and more power outlets in the room. The bar and restaurant did have a dated feel. But these are only tiny observations rather than issues that affected my stay. I would like it if I were to stay again, there could have been a brochure with a walking route around the grounds included in the room.
