What a beautiful hotel. Stunning! And in such a great position, albeit it's a bit of a steep walk up the hill after a long day at the beach right down below, but once you're up there, it's stunning, with views over Positano. With a gorgeous deck to sit and relax, eat or have a drink overlooking the water, boats, views of Positano, and amongst the vines and bougainvillea and lemon trees, and the HUGE rooms, which were so comfortable, with lots of space for luggage, and a tea/coffee facilities, free wifi, ensuite, and a balcony overlooking the same incredible views, well this hotel is definitely worth a stay. Shops and bars and restaurants right outside, a short walk down the hill to the main beach, but there's so much to see on the way down, and close enough to walk up towards Cafe Positano, and also on the doorstep of all of the best shops, this is a great location. Valeria and the staff were all fantastic, and so helpful, they booked our car, explained how to get around, and were just friendly all of the time. The only issue with this room is the shower is inside a bath, so a little tricky to get into and very small and slippery, so this may be a little tricky for many. But the room was airconditioned, quiet, comfy and spacious and beautifully decorated. No complaints here - we'll be back!

The ensuite shower inside the bath was tricky to get into and out of and no room to move and slightly slippery, so just be careful.

The view from Albergo Positano was stunning. We loved having breakfast on that balcony every morning before exploring the area. I actually proposed to my girlfriend on the balcony, that's how nice it was. Rooms were really nice. Very spacious, comfy bed, cute little balcony and an amazing bathroom - best from this trip so far. The people were great as well, they gave us a bottle of wine when we checked in and always took care of us.

The wifi was shocking. Definitely not the place to stay if you also need to get some work done.

The property was in a fantastic location with incredible views. Our room (61) had a beautiful corner window that overlooked the town and we had a balcony that overlooked the water, we like to think it was the best room in the hotel, best of both worlds! Fantastic shower and very spacey room. Staff were extremely helpful and breakfast was simple but lovely.

Mattress was quite hard but I’m a fan of a very soft mattress. Didn’t bother me but might be worth noting that there are no lifts, we had 3 flights of stairs to our room.

This was my second stay here. Great friendly family run hotel. The staff are amazing, very helpful and accommodating. They have done an amazing job of setting up a fine dining restaurant with fantastic food. The location is perfect with the best views overlooking Positano and only a short walk down the the beach and shops. Also very close to some of the nicer restaurants and bars in Positano.

I wish I could have stayed longer.

My husband and I stayed here for three nights and we absolutely loved it! The location couldn’t be more perfect, the best view of Positano from the rooms and from the terrace. The rooms were very clean, felt like out of an Italian movie, supplied everything we needed, and the hotel was very quiet and restful after a busy day in Positano. The staff was very nice and accommodating, everyone helped with a smile. Breakfast food was delicious, loved all the options, especially the fresh squeezed orange juice, no hotel had one like it. Loved that I could order a decaf latte, most places didn’t know what I was talking about. They had a lovely bookshelf filled with different options for guests. We would definitely stay again, our balcony view was to the best, we loved our stay 1,000,000/10.

Nothing, we can sometimes be picky people, but we had a very comfortable stay.

The hotel was fairly close to the beach (in Positano this still means a 5-10 minute walk up various staircases and walkways) and the view is incredible. The staff was extremely helpful - giving us various dining recommendations, holding our bags when we left, and allowing us to park a scooter in their garage for the evening free of charge. We had a private balcony (which was off the main entrance so it wasnt "private" but it was only our own). The bathroom was the best we had in our Italy travels. Great shower with great water pressure. Room was very clean.

The wifi was shotty and slow. This occasionally was a problem because of our international plan having limited data, so wifi was needed to get directions, research our plans, etc.

‏I never felt the need to write a review about an hotel until now, everything was perfect!!! Starting from the hotel itself every corner is beautiful the room is beautiful they thought about everything you’ll be needed! The view!! I can’t stop talking about the amazing view this hotel have, from the room balcony also The staff was incredibly nice and helpful the lady in the front desk did everything to help us with every little question we had and they even let us leave the car in their parking lot while we went to capri and helped us with everything, porter back to the hotel even though we weren’t their guest anymore and the warm welcome when we came back to take the car We’ll come back for sure the next time we’ll be in Positano Thank you for everything!!

The location is perfect for a trip to Positano - breakfast views rival the postcard views. The staff are all attentive and friendly. The breakfast was great - cold meat, eggs and pastries. A quiet hotel and very relaxed.

Our room was on the ground floor which meant we had people walking past our balcony and looking in very often , especially as you had to pass our balcony to get to the restaurant - which was busy every night.

The property was beautiful and I the most breathtaking location ! Near every thing you possibly need . My balcony view was to die for . The service was exceptional anything you ask for they will do it within mins. They have a restaurant attached that was convenient. Two doors down there is a coffee shop that I walked to everyday because it was that good . Outside of the hotel there are two spots where ppl line up to take pictures so what does that tell you about location . We had one problem only at checkout . We were leaving early morning at 4am so we had hotel arrange a driver for us to drop off at Naples train station and unfortunately they never showed up. We had a number of another driver so we called him at 410am and asked if he could take us . He already had another drop off but he was able to get us on his way.. thank goodness! So if the hotel arranges just be sure to get your drivers name and number and confirm the night before . All in all book this Gem you will not regret it . Positano Has my heart .

Everything was exceptional; the attentiveness and kindness of all of the staff. The hotel was impeccably clean, gorgeous clean white linens, beautiful, up to date room. The view was probably the best in Positano. The food at Don Giovanni's was extraordinary! I cannot wait to stay at Albergo California again and again.
