Toulouse is a wonderful city - vibrant and walkable. The Villa du Taur is really well located for exploring the old city and its cultural highlights, as well as access to cafes and restaurants. Contact before arrival was informative, easy and quick. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful. Dinner at the hotel's Restaurant 62 was excellent, and it certainly deserves to be busier.

Breakfast is good but expensive, given the amount of competition to be found a few steps away. Before arrival we were warned that our room was opposite the lift, but this was used as a rather crass pretext to upsell a higher cost room.

Lovely boutique hotel in a superb location. Excellent, helpful and friendly staff for whom nothing was too much trouble. We stayed for 5 nights and were happy with the service and facilities throughout. Lovely breakfast which accommodated my fussy dietary needs (gluten and lactose intolerant). Staff were knowledgeable about the area and local attractions and willing to converse both in French and English. Alexander and Estelle, in particular, were fantastic, though all staff were super helpful and polite. Would highly recommend for a few days either for a peaceful break in a gorgeous city or as a business trip stopover.

Lack of a fitness room.

The hotel is located beautifully near the Basilique Saint-Sernin and an artisanal bakery - we woke up to the smell of fresh patisserie. You can explore Toulouse on foot and are at the centre of the action without it being too loud or too busy. The staff was very nice and tried their best to make us feel comfortable. We found the bed very comfortable and liked the design of the room. We also felt that the good quality coffee machine, tea selection and welcome biscuits were a nice touch.

We had booked the hotel looking for hotels with parking. This is perhaps not the hotel's fault but booking.com showed the hotel as having parking. The parking was an 8min walk away and we had to pay 18 Euros for it, which we feel should be clearly visible on booking.com. It was impossible to find a way to access the hotel by car (neither on googlemaps or our car's navi), which was annoying as we had a lot of luggage. We would have appreciated if the hotel had given us advice on how to reach the property as they knew we were coming by car and had suggested we could drop off our luggage before parking the car. It cost us almost an hour trying to navigate Toulouse's many one-way streets and never reaching the hotel.

The hotel was in a perfect location - central to shops, restaurants and tourist sights, yet remained quiet and peaceful. The hotel staff were very helpful , friendly and professional. The breakfasts were delicious, great variety of fresh pastries, cooked eggs and bacon, fruit etc and hot and cold drinks. My friend and I had a Classic bedroom each - easily accessed by lift or stairs. Air con, room service, good bathroom with excellent shower, comfy bed etc. No noise from the hotel's outdoor restaurant or street sounds.

There was nothing I did not like about the hotel. It was perfect for my friend and I. We would have loved to have stayed longer.

The location is perfect, just next to Saint Sernin, 5 min walk from the Capitol square. I was offered a bigger room with a bath and a shower just for 40 euros, definitely worth it. The bathrooms were clean, toilet separated from the sink and the shower, which was super convenient. Enough shelves, good coffee machine.

When I arranged my shoes, I saw dust bunnies under the shelf - very unpleasant. At the breakfast they ran out of eggs and bacon (leave bacon alone, there were no eggs at all), I saw a staff member lift the lid and obviously see that the dish was empty, but nothing happened after that. No replenishing. I hadn't time to ask or to wait, after all eggs are basics, this is undoubtfully a flaw.

Half of the building was set on hot ventilation while the half was cool. We had to move rooms. We were in the warm room and had to keep the windows open. However, the noise outside kept us awake. The was a party or something downstairs and garbage collection early in the morning. After we moved, we could close the windows , turn on the air, and sleep!

Great location, comfortable, well appointed very clean room. Super helpful staff on reception.

Strange shower cubicle with plain glass opening up into the bedroom. Wasn’t a problem for us but easy to see how it could be. Room description on this site offered a terrace and view of inner courtyard. However on querying the lack of this in our Executive double room with reception we were told this was an error on Booking. Feel a bit cheated.

Really lovely hotel, I had an emergency and I needed to stay in Toulouse. I was upgraded which was a wonderful surprise! A very comfortable room fabulous shower, comfortable bed and nice attentions. I look forward to coming back on another stay.

The room was modern with a comfortable wide bed and walk-in shower. I thought it would be larger based on photos but we didn’t feel confined and enjoyed the open design. Loved the location near Capitole and St. Sernin

The coffee machine seems ineffective—neither a small footprint nor a fast espresso. Looks cool though.

Hotel was in a good location with interesting decor and a good breakfast selection

Air conditioning was not working in the room. Location over a bar and next to a busy street led to a disrupted sleep both nights as we had to open the windows. Early morning refuse collection and church bells do not make for a peaceful sleep.
