What a real gem, we were travelling through the Cumbria this past week and we're so trilled we had pre booked this amazing treat. Great room, fabulous restaurant and a really nice little pub where locals meet of an evening, their faithful dogs sitting below them at the counter. Maria is just amazing so perfect as a front of house ambassador. We loved every minute and will deff be back. Guys make a point of going out of your way to experience such a gem.

Nothing, everything was just perfect thank you all at the Punch Bowl

The room was a delight. We knew beforehand this was a room without an exceptional view but it didn't matter because the outdoor seating area and the location in general are peaceful and lovely. Breakfast was excellent. It was calmly and professionally served in the lovely dining room setting.

Maybe a chair in the bedroom to sit up to the desk/bureau for a brief look at the laptop. But also somehow nice not to be able to do this. Really there was nothing we didn't like about our stay.

Beautiful location situated high above lake. Very scenic. Easy parking

Lighting in bathroom poor, no light over sink / mirror. No heating in bathroom but not very cold in September. Bed lumpy and pillows inadequate. No space to put items down and sit in front of mirror in bedroom. Tricky when using contact lenses.

Perfectly positioned on the top of a hill in the middle of Cumbria. A beautiful place called Crosswaite. Walking in the quiet countryside is a must. The warm comfortable bedrooms. Excellent restaurant. Fantastic wine list. Staff who all live what they do. Staff who go above and beyond to make you want to stay longer than first thought.

Everything, couldn’t fault it! Beautiful little traditional English Inn, room was much more spacious than we expected and so comfortable, food was excellent, staff so friendly… hope to find ourselves back there some day for longer.

Only that they didn’t have availability for another night!

Lovely old inn run by wonderfully accommodating staff who in an unfussy way want to be sure you have a lovely stay. And we did! Food lovely too.

Nothing to complain about. We stayed during the heatwave and it was hot in the night but I’m not sure many places in the UK are very equipped to deal with this yet!

Lovely country pub atmosphere and decor. Friendly staff, who made us feel very welcome. Well prepared and presented delicious food. Picturesque countryside.

Just the size of the shower, it was a bit snug, would have been better a bit bigger as there was room in the bathroom for one.

All was excellent. Fantastic food at restaurant.

Standard breakfast started at 8:30 which is too late for business travellers. However when I said at check in that I would need breakfast at 8:00 special arrangements were made so that was possible. Couldn't possibly ask for more! Above and beyond.

The complimentary afternoon tea with warm scones was an unexpected delight. We went on a walk around the locality. The countryside is breathtakingly beautiful and our dinner could have easily outshine many a top 5*London restaurant.

Nothing.
