Hotel is just opposite one of the gates into Kensington Gardens. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful and allowed us to check-in early.

Perhaps their Bistro/restaurant could stay open until 11 pm for guests to have an after theatre snack.

I really liked everything about the Thistle Hotel in London! The location is central and convenient, perfect for exploring the city. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the showers were always hot with great water pressure. The staff were outstanding – always helpful, friendly, and welcoming. It truly felt like a home away from home. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again!

I’ve seen comments suggesting the hotel could use a refurb – but I’d bet many of those people chose it for the great value. If it were fully renovated (which I personally don’t think it needs), the charm might be lost and the price would likely go up. I love the character it has now – it’s comfortable, welcoming, and offers great service at a fair rate. That’s what keeps me coming back.

Comfortable hotel just across from Hyde Park and close to Queensway and Bayswater underground stations. Also a bus service nearby and Paddington Station within walking distance. Rooms were a good size, for a London hotel, and the bathroom was small but practical to use and well appointed. Sound proofing was excellent. There is a good smallish bar where food was available. The hotel looks like it was recently renovated and has a nice internal appearance. All the staff were pleasant.

We found that during a five day stay the two small elevators could note cope with peak demand and we had to use the stairs. The hotel is next to a petrol station which may concern some people.

The communication with the hotel before arriving was helpful and friendly, all the reception staff were LOVELY and very accommodating, breakfast was great and the dining room team were also excellent. The hotel looked after our luggage before and after check-in and check- out and the location was very handy for Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park, Natural History Museum etc. Tube station and lots of places to eat within a few hundred metres. We wanted some extra pillows and reception provided these really quickly with no problem. The customer service throughout was really excellent.

The beds were clean and we had fresh towels but the bathroom was quite dirty. The room had several dirty spills on the walls and curtains which was a little off-putting. We had booked a superior twin room and I don't think that was what we got as it didn't match the photos, but we didn't query or complain because we were just using it as a base. I think the bedroom we had needed a refresh overall.

Great location, there was AC in the summer, the room was clean, and the furniture was modern. It was nice how they gave us two free water bottles a day, although I feel like it should be unlimited. The bus s were extremely close by as well as having the underground and nice restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Oh and having a 24 hour convenience store right next to the hotel as well as the park being literally across the street.Nice view even without the park view.

The fact that there was no cart for the bags , had to argue with the lady at the front desk to get someone to help u. The room service never really put tissue boxes, we had to request them. Lastly,it was annoying how there was no fridge in the standard room

Everything! It was a special occasion for my sister and i and the staff had put balloons and prosecco in our room which was a very thoughtful touch ! Our room was high up that gave amazing views over the gardens towards the London skyline. Position of Hotel was perfect. 15 minute walk from Paddington Station and there were tube stations 5 minutes away Kensington gardens was literally across the road and if you walked straight within ten minutes you were at the Albert Hall! If you turned left you had fabulous walks straight to Hyde Park and beyond If you turned right you could walk to the fab Notting hill! I will definitely come back . The position was perfect! And staff were very kind and friendly!

I stayed at this property due to the reviews that indicated it is quiet, & it did not disappoint other than an occasional neighbor talking loudly in the hall. They also honored my request for a room on a high floor away from the elevator. Although I do not eat breakfast, I did have coffee & a roll two mornings to use my 7 GBP offer for declining room cleaning. As a safe the planet advocate, a brilliant idea. The buffet breakfast options were plentiful & varied. Large new fluffy towels, hairdryer, safe, bottled water, coffee, tea & kettle a plus. The staff were always friendly & helpful, especially Hassan at the front desk, & Sogand in the dinning room. The location is perfect across from the beautiful Hyde Park, close to numerous popular sites, & a few minutes walk to the tube, restaurants, take out, pubs, coffee shops & even a petro station. I will definitely stay here again when in London. Thanks for outstanding service.

The only negative event was when the manager of housekeeping came into the room to replace the decorative bed pillows even though I had placed both the "Do Not Disturb & Decline Room Cleaning" signs on my door.

The hotel is in fantastic location, immediately across from Hyde Park and only a couple of streets away from the Tube and a whole host of bars and restaurants. The staff were all extremely friendly and very helpful. The room had all the facilities we needed, the shower was probably the best I’ve ever used in a hotel, very powerful. The room was very clean and the bed extremely comfy.

The room was quite small, just about big enough to not be uncomfortable. The TV remote stopped working the first night, although in fairness we didn’t report the issue as we barely used it and I’m sure they would have fixed if asked.

Great Location, comfy bed, spotless linens, renovated room, opening window for fresh air. It was ideal - super restaurants nearby and close to Notting Hill area as well.

Great staff. When we arrived. Our rooms ready early ..which was brilliant . We had 3 rooms booked king garden view , sounds lovely . The rooms are over a petrol garage . Yes you can see the tops of the trees . The bed was super comfy. 2 rooms had walk in shower , and fridge . No biscuits with tea I. Rooms even cheaper hotels do. Thd 3rd room step in bath shower overhead . At to ask at reception for a bath mat and no fridge . Each room costing the same 370 pounds a night. Breakfast very busy in a small area . Both mornings had to ask for cutlery as box empty . Staff very friendly though . Would we stay again. Probably not . Expensive for the experience
