The service was great. The people working there were very kind. I went travelling on my own and felt safe in the hotel and in the area. I would recommend.

This is out of pure laziness, the room was at the very top of the hotel and there are no elevators. I got used to it immediately but after walking around London the last flight of stairs were often a struggle. However, the place is clean and original.

Accommodation: 8 Location: 10 Breakfast 7 Service: 10 Value for money: 10 Located in a great place for accessing tourist attractions either by bus, taxi, underground or cycle. Run by a lovely Latvian family, who were very attentive and tried to make everything a memorable experience. The rooms were standard but ideal for a base to explore the city and we had our own private bathroom; some rooms had to share. Our room was cleaned to a high standard. We had our windows open at night and it was surprisingly quiet. Breakfast was a bit disappointing in quantity but served lovingly by the family. Would definitely go back again and we’re now looking at going to Latvia for a break next year.

The bed was the big letdown; extremely hard with a mattress so thin we could feel the bars on our backs as we lay down. I only slept for four hours each night and kept waking up in pain (due to health issues mind). Our television wasn’t working and although a member of staff attempted this couldn’t be resolved, she apologised and that was fine. The other issue was the toilet in the bathroom; it was a bit wobbly and sometimes precarious! Looking forward I hope you can resolve these issues.

This turned out to be just great. Loved the location in Central London. Very, very good value. I had a single room, which was warm and cosy. Nice view out on to the back of the property. Having a TV with many channels in my room was really nice. Room cleaned and tea and coffee replenished every day, if needed. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic. Plenty of food. Shout out to the lovely blond lady who took care of all the guests at breakfast time. She always was so cheerful and hardworking. Bayswater nearby has everything you need including Tesco, Sainbury's, M&S, Waitrose, restaurants and bars. Tube station nearby, too.

Nothing. Frankly, I'm amazed that some individuals on here are complaining. You won't get anything nicer than this for the price in Central London. No pleasing some people.

Lovely room facing the courtyard breakfast area. Ground floor was great for a change. The hotel is operated by Latvians and is the centre for their l Latvian events. The staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for us genuinely cared we had a good time. It is the best stay we've had in London ever. As it was summer solstice they were celebrating in their restaurant area with a special traditional meal which was wonderful to experience new dishes and great service. Our breakfast was perfect a choices of hot drinks, fruit, yoghurts, cereals and a choice of.cooked breakfast to order which could be eaten indoors or in the pretty internal courtyard. A peaceful break with a run I Hyde Park in the morning. We slept well and all the home comforts in our room including a fan as its been a heatwave in London and a lovely work space for laptops. The reception desk staff were amazing full of useful information amd well organised. There didn't appear to be any ensuites and shower rooms right opposite which were super clean and an extra toilet. If this is important to you then do not.book this hotel.

Whilst it didn't bother us at all it may put you off not having your own shower facilities. That's the only downside if you're reading this review. It didn't affect us at all. We were told this from the outset to actually booking and reminded again so ots perfectly clear if you book what you are going to have.

I mostly chose this booking for the location and it was everything! 15 min walk from Paddington station, which is a straight line from Heathrow Airport. Next to the Central Line, Queensway and as a beautiful street full of restaurants and an Asian market just one street over. Also the park is literally across the street. For me who likes to walk and prefer using public transport it was perfect. I had a room with my own private bathroom. The room was small, but since I didn’t spend a lot of time inside it was fine, if two people need to use the room it might be a little bit of a squeeze with luggage’s, for a solo traveler it’s completely fine. The shower was small and the bathroom was not super spacious but for the short time I was there it was completely fine and very clean. If you like a hard bed you will be fine, it was ok for me but don’t expect a thick plush mattress, if that’s an issue for you…just so you know. Soap and shampoos were provided and I always had clean towels at night when I came back. The provided English breakfast was very good, you choose what items you want on the main plates. They had fruits every morning, yogourts, toast and cereal. The coffee machine is very good and you had the options of vanilla or caramel syrup 👍🏻 The building is on the older side, but very well taken care off and keep clean. All in all for the price, the location and the free breakfast this was a great experience.

Just that my room (7) was next to the shared bathroom so it could be a bit noisy at time, but really not that big of a deal. Just keep in mind it’s an old building and some people where not as careful as others when closing their doors which could resonate in the corridors.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Ace location – very near to the Tube station. Breakfast was spectacular. I hadn't remembered how substantial a hearty English breakfast can be. Enough of this Continental breakfast bs!

Rooms have very thin walls. You can hear when your neighbours get in late at night ... or wake up in the morning. No air-conditioning; but the fan was a reasonable substitute and adequate. No mini-fridge. The shower head holder was faulty. Shower head kept flopping down; which meant you had to use one hand to hold the shower head, the other hand to lather yourself and bathe.

Everything is spotlessly clean and well kept. The ladies are exceptionally friendly, always willing to assist and make your stay enjoyable. The location is perfect, close to Hyde Park, numerous bus routes and 3 Underground lines. Plentiful breakfast, cooked on request, not left in warmers, very good fresh fruit. Excellent value, ideal for me.

Sound can carry through thin walls, although some people would be noisy anywhere. Water flowing through basin taps in rooms can be loud. Not sure how this could be fixed, or even what causes it. But all these are minor, far outweighed by the many things done so well.

Very nice staff, happy and helpful ❣️ Cosy, nice location, clean. Better breakfast than expected, with also a warm option, including bacon, eggs, hash brown, baked beans, good coffee freshly ground from a nice machine, fresh bananas and apples, yogurt, serials, toast with jam selection🥰 Beds at a bit old, and not luxury, but we slept very well 🌸 There is a small general store just around the corner on a gas station.

It was a Goldilocks stay. Everything was just right. Our room was tiny but it was all we needed. It seemed different to the photos - less cluttered and I think the hotel must have been refurbished recently and the mattressesand bedding seemed brand new. Breakfast was bacon, fried egg, hash brown, beans. Lots of toast, real butter or margarine and choices of preserves, individual serial boxes, fruit, juices, tea, coffee, hot chocolate. A couple of streets away, there was every cuisine you can imagine. I collected food when we arrived at noght and it was lively and safe, but the hotel street was very quiet. Staff were so friendly and kind that we're planning our next holiday in Latvia.

There were no lifts and a lot of stairs to our room. I didn't like sharing a bathroom, however, I didn't have to wait. The metal beds were a bit squeaky. Only instant coffee for breakfast. I'm being very picky here. These were such minor things.

Very good location and on arrival was shown all around the property and everything explained. The staff on reception were exceptional and very helpful, helping me with a Royal Mail delayed letter. The ladies on breakfast duty were always smiling and cheerful. My room was great, the hotel was nicely furnished. My room didn't have en suite but the common wash room was kept spotless, with an excellent shower. Breakfast was good and included a cooked breakfast. Room cleaned daily. Queensway tube station about 4 minutes away. Storage of cases before and after the stay was not a problem. I will be back! Thank you
