Cute little hotel in an old traditional style. It was a little difficult to find where the reception desk was as it's a restaurant as well at the bottom floor but we found it eventually after some help from guests of the restaurant. In the centre of the village and it's easy to walk to the waterfall, the glacier and just stroll around enjoying the beauty of Lauterbrunnen.

It's right by the train station neighbouring the track so you'll hear the train going by a few times every hour. Check the timetables of when the train arrives so you can be aware of between which hours you'll hear the train, I think it didn't run during the night hours though.

Unbeatable location right next to the train station. I had only been able to get a room in the annexe rather than the main hotel- on checking in, was initially given a room with no view at all, but on requesting one, was kindly given a different room, thanks to their wonderful staff Jessica, which was in the annexe facing the main street and train lines- with a little balcony, perfect for people watching. In addition, one of the side windows also had a partial but beautiful view of Staubbach falls, albeit interrupted by construction work in a neighbouring building. I found all the staff very helpful- there was no kettle in the room originally to make tea or coffee, but when I asked for it, was promptly given one. Breakfast was served in the main hotel just across the street- it was very good with the usual cold cuts, cheeses, fresh fruit, juices, a variety of breads, as well as hot food in the form of scrambled eggs and bacon. We ate in the hotel pizzeria one night- excellent thin-crust pizza!

Nothing to complain about. The only thing I would mention is- take care when crossing from the annexe to the hotel- its hardly any distance, but there is no crossing place, cars come up the road at full speed- no fault of the hotel, though.

Great location & nice view from the balcony. We had dinner twice at the restaurant and enjoyed our meals, reasonably priced compared to others in the street (& given its Switzerland!). Breakfast was plentiful and nice provided you got there early. They didn’t seem to replenish the fresh fruit or the eggs and bacon which were cold two out of the three mornings we were there.

We found the mattress far too firm and uncomfortable. We used one of the single duvets as a mattress topper which made it bearable. The stairs to the rooms were brutal so pack light!

The staff was definately more than average helpful both at check in/out and at the restaurant. The hotel has a perfect location right next to the trainstation - just walk up the ramp and you are at the hotel. It is also a good starting point for exploring the village (Lauterbrunnen). Just walk south from the hotel (there aren't many sights on the northern side) and stay on the west side of the river if you want to see the main waterfall (Staubbachfall). Then when you turn back, you might find a good place to cross the river (at the camping for instance, or further south if your taking a longer hike) and walk on the east side of the river back to the hotel. Some real nice scenery. The hotel is also right next to the Bergbahn to Mürren, which is a quaint village higher up the mountain with beautiful sights of the nearby valley and the surrounding mountains.

Can't think of anything really. Some complained the trains were noisy since the hotel is so close to the train station. I slept in their annex on the other side of the road so it did not disturb me at all.

Hotel Steinbock is in a great location next to Lauterbrunnen train station and a parking garage. The hotel has its own parking space for those travelling by car. The apartments are located in two different buildings on opposite sides of the street. A Coop store is right next door. Although the hotel is located on the main street of Lauterbrunnen, it was quiet. The room was basic with a private bathroom and a balcony. The hotel restaurant served good food.

I loved the breakfast. I also loved how welcoming the staff was. The hot chocolate was so comforting paired with the view that faces the awesome part of the valley. the room we had was very clean and after a day of activities, it was all we needed. Using the key took some time figuring out, but it was also a novel experience to use a lock and key from several years in the past. We got our own little balcony that we used to cool our drinks that's ice cold and sit down to just look again at the awe inspiring view. Checkout was a breeze~ just leave the keys and all. Would recommend it 100%

The bed was on the stiffer side but because they provided a cushy comforter so it was all good. There are also no elevators but that was expected. I just don't think it would be easy for people carrying heavy luggages. Packing light is the best. maybe bring some earplugs cause it's a wooden structure where you can hear footsteps above you. but the noise was relatively good even without ear plugs or ear buds.

The room was clean and tidy, and perfect for what we needed it for! The location was perfect, right next to restaurants, shops, and transportation (but it was not noisy at all). The staff was very friendly and we really enjoyed talking with them. The associated restaurants was great as well. We spent both nights there, loved the food and the atmosphere/ambiance was so cute. Such a great value for the price, we would definitely stay here again.

There was no much that we didn't like. It was a simple room, and we knew that when booking. Our room was in another building a little further away, but still very convenient location

Location is perfect! You get the view of the village from the balcony. Very close to the train station, gondola to Murren, coop, bakery and bank/machine. Bed was comfy and big. Breakfast is good too - they had bacon, eggs, breads and jams, cold cuts and drinks. Staff is great too.

Since it's close to the train station, it could get noisy at times, plus you can hear the people walking/talking upstairs. But for me, that's minimal and still great overall.

Location: literally right outside the Lautrrbrunnen train station and also the cable car. Close to town and walking distance to the waterfalls. Small Coop just below the hotel. Room: one of the more spacious room we had in Switzerland Breakfast: Wide variety and yummy selection of breakfast Personnel: Super friendly and helpful reception. She even helped us carry a heavy luggage up the stairs. Didn't catch her name, young lady with long dark wavy hair and a beautiful smile.

Kettle in the room would have been nice but the lady offered to us warm water in a thermos No elevator

Breakfast was great. We had supper 3 times...the soup was incredible and after trying the Steinbock pizza on the recommendation of a local family...we concur- excellent pizza! Our rooms looked newly refurbished and we enjoyed looking at the mountains from our balcony. The hotel is located in the perfect location for transportation...train, bus and gondola! And the little bakery across the street was awesome! Coop is right there.
