Location was excellent in quiet area with lovely gardens and view of sea and beach. Room (320) was large and clean with excellent view. Hotel was quiet. Lifts were fast and efficient. Pool was clean and large and well kept. .

Hot food at Buffet evening meal was dull poorly presented and unappetising. Carpets throughout building were grubby and stained in places. There was no bath mat in slippery shower or kettle etc in room (junior suite) though both were provided when requested. Bed was large but too firm for our backs so we developed backache over the week we stayed there. .

Beach is so so class and it is a real beach! There is a huge garden with sport facilities. Room was comfortable with very clever window/ calving design which allowed to have it open even when it was raining. Service is lovely and very very friendly and professional!

Location: it is a bit remote and if not for hired car it would be difficult to get even to Villa Franca de Campo (nearest town) Food: this might be due to the not really season started but variety of breakfast/ evening buffet was quite small. At the same time service was lovely! We were avoiding buffets for evening.

The whole experience at Pestana Bahia Praia was just a bliss. The staff is incredibly helpful, the rooms are absolutely stunning and without a doubt worth the money. The breakfast variety was great, everything was delicious. I doubt anyone will find a better view than the one you get from this Hotel. A special shout out to Mrs. Nelia Neto from the housekeeping staff - she absolutely won our heart, she has an incredible attention to detail and guests needs, and went above and beyond by surprising us in our room with a special decor.

There is probably very little to nothing to say about any dislikes - perhaps the "fresh juices" for breakfast that do taste very artificial. And lastly the sauna - we have tried to use it a couple of times, but it never really heated up. We have tried to bring this up to the attention of the front desk, but were met with an excuse that the sauna wouldnt heat up to 80oC due to applicable local law - when it clearly stated outside that was an 80oC sauna. Frankly we were fine with this because we could also use the steam sauna and it wasnt a big deal, but I would just rather have someone tell me the sauna is broken/needs fixing, than hearing some sort of non-sense excuse.

Location (if having a rented car), breakfast & buffet dinner (we had half board), big room w/balcony, in a non-urban quite area, close to a nice beach (nice for strolling after dinner).

There was no a/c as we were told that it was still the "winter season" (we stayed there late May). It was a bit hot in the room on our arrival day (it was a sunny warm day), but the situation was not that bad as the weather was overall pleasant during our stay, we could use the balcony, and the staff provided us with a fan.

Staff was excellent. Shout out to Filipe at the front desk was very pleasant and helpful. And Claudia who patiently cooked my eggs every morning. Next to the beach/ocean. Awesome views. Grocery store and gas station nearby.

Sauna and gym close early at 8 PM. SAME BREAKFAST BUFFET MENU EVERY SINGLE DAY ! AND WE WERE THERE FOR 8 DAYS ! Although the wait staff was excellent ! And the Dinner Buffet for €30 was not worth it. AC DIDN’T WORK THE WHOLE TIME.

The rooms were spacious, as were the bathrooms. Pool & beach accessibility was lovely. The front desk staff was polite & helpful & aided us in 1 restaurant & 1 activity reservation, both of which were very helpful.

The mattress was very uncomfortable & we found it hard to sleep. The restaurant was fine for breakfast, however, we had dinner on our first night as we were too tired to go out & for 30 euro per person, we were very disappointed in the food. The quality wasn't there & the 1 or 2 things that were decent were almost gone & not replaced.

This hotel is in perfect location for exploring the island if you rent a car. We loved the spacious room (junior suite) with a huge bathroom and the well-kept surroundings of the hotel. Breakfast is always the same but there are enough options for all tastes. We are especially grateful to Marta for her attention and great advice on planning our trips on the island. In short, we loved our stay.

It is standard for a 4 star hotel to have kettle and tea/coffee in the room (however, I was informed that kettle is available for a small additional charge).

We upgraded to get the ocean view at a small charge. We had fabulous sea views with a small balcony. The room/suite we were in was huge, the bed super, the bathroom exceptional. The staff were extremely helpful. Highly recommend and very good value.

The evening buffet style meal was plentiful and OK, , but at 30 Euros per person, excluding drinks, we felt was on the expensive side.
