Room spacious and clean. Kitchen well stocked. Window don’t open wide enough for ventilation during hot periods due to locks. Bathroom would benefit from large, flat vanity surface around sink for setting out toilet bags, towels etc. to keep dry and clean.

Would benefit from two small easy chairs to relax in. Also minimum sized Double bed. Door in corridor right next to our room very noisy during the night due to constant traffic and some sort of air lock, so that the slow close spring did not seem to work. Corridors very hot and stuffy all the time, with apparently no ventilation.

The Un-Hostel! Fantastic place to stay for the money charged. We had a room with a double bed, en suite bathroom with toilet and sink and shower. We had access to the full kitchen shared on the flat. We used the on-site laundry twice. We had access to all the busses in town from two equidistant stops. Clean duvet, clean towels, and an oscillating fan for the asking. We had wonderful discussions with the front desk staff. For instance, “How many seagulls live and squawk on the roof?" “Too many” and “Millions” were both judged correct.

Seagulls were a noisy problem. Earplugs were available for free from the front desk. No air conditioning but electric fans were available.

Simple but nicely furnished dorm in Block A. Mine faced the courtyard, which I recommend since the other side faces the road and train tracks. My “flat” had about five rooms aligned on a short hallway with a kitchen and dining/sitting area at the end. The kitchen had a few utensils and dishes…enough to make a few days stay comfortable. I like that my room had its own bathroom with shower and that I was able to do my laundry in the building. The staff are all young people…most likely students, and they took good care of me. There are some good coffee and dining options nearby - to include Easter Road. It’s a bit of a walk into the center of town (20 minutes), but buying a day pass on the bus/tram system ensures that you will have good and pretty timely access to the rest of the city

Excellent location. Staff very helpful. Exactly what we expected. Our room was very clean, mattress and pillows really comfy. The room is quite compact, but that’s what you expect with student accommodation. Very secure and safe. I stayed there with my 16yr old daughter and I’d definitely stay there again for a short break. Great wifi, which when travelling with a teen is paramount!

It is pretty hot in the rooms but a huge (very noisy) fan was provided, which helped. You can hear noise from other doors closing that’s mentioned in other reviews, but it wasn’t enough to spoil our stay as it’s expected in shared accommodation. Shower was slow to drain but absolutely manageable for a short stay.

We had a great stay. Location was easy to reach by foot (the whole city is pretty walkable), and very close to Holyrood Park, which we found by accident when walking to the city center. 24/7 staff was very helpful. They provided us with a fan and with laundry detergent for free. Safe environment. Comfortable room and bathroom. I'd gladly stay here again!

The bed was a wee small for two friends to share, but not undoable. From our room we could hear seagulls outside, which later we learned is a common thing throughout Scotland. Not too problematic though. It adds to the ambience. 😅

Easy to find check in was easy ,rooms clean and comfortable with lots of storage optio ,cheap late checkout of £10 for an extra 2 hours sleep ,large shower in a small toilet,darkened curtains reducing sunlight ,overall pleasant place to rent for our overnight

The heat was uncomfortable even with the fan supplied and small window in the room open fully, room service chapped us 2x and we had the late checkout sign out on view,could be her just been being cautious that we were up ,but at 11am when the first knock at the door was given we still had a full hour before checking out then again at 11.45 knocked on the door for the 2nd time ,our alarm was set for 11.30 that extra 30 mins after clubbing in the town till 4.30 would have been an advantage tbh (stramash totally to blame for time of return lol, we would highly recommend for a place where you can dance meet random people and live music to suit any genre)

I think you just need to remember that this place is not a hotel it’s student accommodation. It’s a lot cheaper than a hotel so doesn’t have the same standards. It’s still very clean and tidy. The staff are helpful. It has everything you need.

There isn’t really much not to like like. It’s what you need when staying somewhere like Edinburgh. Just somewhere to get some sleep before another full day out. The only think I would say is maybe more than one pillow per person. I’m not sure if you could ask for extras or not?

Great value, 10 minute stroll to the High Street/Royal Mile. Holyrood Palace 2 mins away as was Scottish Parliament. Room comfortable. Small double bed ...not a problem I thought. Large kitchen/TV area. Exceptionally clean. Take food with you, 2 large fridges to store....pots, crockery and cutlery in the kitchen as is an ironing board,24 hr front desk. Staff all friendly. Secure. About £10 cab ride from Waverley Station. Toiletries, tea, milk etc readily available free at reception desk. We will stay here again.....

No TV in room. But not an great issue....

Our room was on upper flor with nice view. The location is excellent, walkable distance to all major touristic points. Studio with kitchen was spacious and suitable for 2. Bathroom was clean and cleaning tools available for self-service.

Room was very hot in sunny days since windows cannot be opened but they provided cooler. Unfortunately it was leaking but we somehow fixed it. Also airing through doors helped. Nevertheless not having locked windows would be probably sufficient.

Fantastic value for money, excellent location with buses running to and from centre of princes street or an easy walk if you prefer. Lovely staff, immaculately clean rooms, better value and better appointed than the budget hotels, particularly during the festival when they put all the prices up. Oh and we had a stunning view too

Big windows made the room very hot and windows only opened a little bit. Bed was a little small but perfectly adequate for us but maybe wouldn't suit everyone
