Perfect accommodation in a perfect location. We stayed in a Studio with Balcony which looked straight onto the river & Dom Luís bridge, a room with a view. We felt part of the river front atmosphere. Room was beautiful. Breakfast is downstairs in Ribeira 50 cafe/bar. Lovely buffet breakfast. Bar has small range of snacks & food great to come back to at the end of the day. We were delighted with Porto River. There is an excellent restaurant next door called Casario, we went 3 times. Be sure to book & request terrace seating.

Nothing it was perfect

The view was spectacular. The room very comfortable.

Provide two racks for luggage. The buskers outside became annoying. They were there day and night, playing the same songs over and over. We could not block out the noise which was particularly a problem when my husband was unwell one day. We like to open the doors for fresh air but could not when we wanted to rest because of the buskers.

It was very clean, modern, big beautiful room and bathroom, exactly as in the photos. Towels, robes, slippers etc were provided. Staff were lovely. Breakfast was good too. The hotel is right on the riverwalk, which is a great location, and the views out the window are fantastic.

We underestimated how noisy it would be because of the riverwalk. There is nothing the hotel can do about that of course, but just keep it in mind. Real quiet hours are ~ 1am-6am Unfortunately we were bed bound due to food poisoning both days we were there so this was a lot more noticeable to us. During the day it is incredibly loud, no chance of taking a nap without earplugs

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. We expected to hear noise from the bars/restaurants all around the property, but we were pleasantly surprised with our quietest sleep anywhere in our 3 weeks in Portugal. The staff was fantastic, answering our questions, loaning us an umbrella, and offering a different room (without us asking) when there was a minor maintenance issue

A little difficult to find the hotel, a picture accompanying the pre-arrival message / email would have been helpful, especially when arriving in peak time when the restaurants are busy and many people are on the street

The view of the river, The Luís 1 Bridge, and opposite to Gaia was fantastic. The apartment was modern and spacious, and smelled lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was nice, with a selection of bread, cheeses, fruit, yogurt and cakes with optional limited cooked breakfast.

We weren’t prepared for how noisy it was by the river in Ribeiro. The noise lasted until the early hours, so it was difficult to sleep. I guess it’s the price to pay for having such a beautiful location. The bedroom had very little storage, just a hanging rail and no drawers. The bathroom was limited for space too.

If you want to feel the city of Porto stay here. It is the perfect blend of historical Porto with modern touches to the rooms and amenities. Because of the smart adaptions to the historical building the views at the hotel are absolutely unbeatable. We love to stay here as a family (3 times so far) because we are able to meet everyday for breakfast and happy hour on the terrace bar which offers comfortable and unbeatable views of the famous bridge, the Duoro river and the promenade down below. You are really in the middle of the life of the city. The staff and amenities make it very easy to stay here as a family or big group but if you are traveling as a pair or looking for romance this hotel is perfect for a romantic getaway. It is a great price for the clean, luxurious and comfortable feel of the hotel.

I love everything!!!! But keep in mind the following: It is a historic city and building. So just call ahead and make the staff aware of any physical limitations you might have so they can give you the easiest room to access, otherwise every room is accessible with an elevator. The hotel is on the promenade so you do hear the sounds of LIFE! This did not bother us at all but bring ear plugs if you are a very light sleeper as the seagulls can be loud in the morning. We slept very deeply as the rooms are modernized to keep noise out.

This was our second time at Porto River, we were kindly upgraded to one of the new apartments in the adjacent building (we stayed in the main last time). Rooms are stylish, comfortable, well appointed and most importantly air conditioned! They have an excellent breakfast, though service can be a little slow during busy times for specific orders.

Service could be a little slow at times, and there was some confusion at check out regarding use of the mini bar. But these are minor issues - the place is lovely and we will certainly be back.

This is an outstanding apartment/hotel! The staff is wonderful and we like having an apartment with a reception desk like a hotel. The apartment was beautiful and clean like no one had ever stayed there. We had a separate bedroom from the living area and a small kitchen. The bed and the furnishings within the apartment were very comfortable. Our apartment had 4 double doors that opened to a small balcony over the pedestrian area and had an outstanding view of the Duro river. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this property.

Everything was fantastic! Excellent location right in front of the Douro River and convenient to main tourist attractions. The river front was busy and lively during the afternoon and early evening, but quiet and peaceful the rest of the day and night. You wouldn’t hear much at all, except some seagulls in the morning when waking up (10am for us). We were in room 2/2, unbeatable! Check photo attached! The breakfast was included and it was nice and fresh, nice fruits, good coffee, fried eggs on demand, fresh orange juice, nice bread!! Parking was public and a few blocks away (5 min walk). The young lady working the reception (she was from Cordoba, Argentina - sorry I did not get her name) was so nice, friendly, smart and knowledgeable. You could tell she loves her job. In five minutes, maybe ten, she made great recommendations for touring the city, all the explanation using the city map. She’s been in Porto for six months, but she is a true expert! She even gives tips on where to get elevators to get to the higher parts of the city, which roads to walk, places to visit. She was a jewel!! Thanks!

Large apartment with good amount of space. two beds and bathrooms. Phenomenal location on the water, lots of restaurants and things to do right outside. Nicely decorated and renovated old building. Great breakfast with filtered coffee! Comfortable bed and linens. Taxis can pick you up in front of hotel. Good a/c and water pressure (had some issues with both)

Hard place with a car, no place to stop easily to drop bags off, closest garage is about 10 minutes walking and is $50 a day to park. Don't recommend having a car here. While river location is great, the main town is a relatively short walk which is all uphill. Slightly hard to find my entrance as restaurant tables are blocking the entrance. Smaller bedroom A/C leaked water on the first causing us to have to turn it off, staff fixed it and worked fine after that. Oddly one morning the water was shut off in entire apartment and took 20 minutes to get turned back on, which was hard since I had just started showering.
