Lovely place to spend your time in. This hotel is truly a gem hidden in this town, if you are after a comfortable, warm and inviting place to spend your time in - this is the place for you! We stayed in a delux bedroom which had a view out on to the pier and the sea! It was a pleasant sight to wake up to. There is a pub down the road, which I thought would impact on our stay, but it was not a problem at all! We had a comfortable, quiet nights rest and felt relaxed and refreshed the morning after. The morning was even made better with the delicious scent of breakfast wafting as it was being cooked. Debbie took very good care of us, kept us entertained with a lovely chat and fed us with the most tasty food! I would highly recommend this place (already have..!) to anyone visiting.

There's no parking outside of the hotel, but this isn't really an issue as there is public parking just a few minutes walk behind the hotel. The parking charge isn't too expensive either - won't break your bank.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hamiltons Boutique hotel and were made to feel very welcome (without excess fuss). The location is excellent for the seafront and heart of Southend. Breakfast was ample, delicious and with plenty of choices. Our rooms - the balcony suite - were impressively decorated (with recent refurbishment) and of a very good size to allow social (and/or working) space, in addition to the comfortable bedroom and compact bathroom.

The rooms were well-serviced daily with good attention to normal domestic hotel needs. In places, however, the rooms might benefit from a critical eye and a periodic 'blitz': e.g. thick dust in the bottom and on the rear face of the wardrobe (which had to be brushed off my suit); interior shelves in the bathroom cupboards looked grubby 'used' (so we kept our toiletries in travel bags) ... these are small refinements that would lift a very good hotel into the excellent category.

I’m not really one for what at first appears to be a Guest house but I booked this as my usual chain hotel was fully booked, however I was pleasantly surprised. This is most definitely a boutique hotel! The room was beautiful, clean and bright with a view of the sea. Room bigger than expected and wonderful decor that suits the period of the property. Bed comfortable and sleep really well! Didn’t hear noise from other guests or seagulls as you would typically expect at the seaside!! Easy check in, friendly staff and the most incredible breakfast I’ve ever had staying away from home!! I would definitely stay here again!

Everything was great!!

The property is iin an excellent location for visiting Southend. Debbie, the host, was very welcoming and looked after us. The property was very quiet and equipped with all the basic things you need for a short stay away. Our room was up a few flights of stairs, so it is not really ideal for those with mobility issues and there is very limited parking around the place, best to come in on public transport as we did. The English breakfast was lovely, well cooked and served hot. The bed was comfortable and bathroom facilities adequate. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable short stay and would definitely book to come back again.

This is a historic house beautifully presented, very clean, with excellent staff and management. Overlooking the Thames estuary, it has shops, two railways stations, walks and Adventure Land on its doorstep. The breakfast is buffet plus English Breakfast or avocado on toast. Southend transport services first class: take the bus or train to Leigh -on- Sea or Shoeburyness or even to Fort Tilbury. Overall 10/10.

A few floorboard squeaks but nothing to disturb a good nights sleep.

Good location for Cliffs Pavillion Theatre. Lovely road. Friendly staff. Overall clean room and powerful shower. Good amount of teas and coffee in room. Good value for the area.

Too many fluffy accessories for our taste. Dirty windowsill inside the room, behind the shutters. Looks like cleaning there has s been forgotten for a while. My breakfast was cold which was disappointing considering there were just two of us to cater for. Horrible outlook from bedroom window, to overgrown gardens and derelict building. But could see the hotel had made an effort in their own garden.

This was our second stay at Hamiltons, because we had enjoyed the high standard of accommodation offered. It was easy to park opposite the hotel (metered). The check in and welcome was quick and friendly. Our room was immaculate and comfortable. The ensuite was clean and complementary toiletries were good. Breakfast was superb and plentiful with lots of choice. We have made 17 bookings at different hotels in Southend over the last 7 years and this is by far the best place we have stayed.

The heated towel rail was on full blast, so we had to leave the bathroom door and windows open to get a through draught, and there was the droning sound of the system all the time as a result. It was noisy into the small hours nearby on Friday night, which is to be expected really. When we stayed in December, neither of these things bothered us!

I had the most wonderful stay at this boutique hotel. From the moment I arrived, everything felt warm and welcoming. The rooms were spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated, and incredibly cozy—perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. We were even upgraded to a beautiful room, which was such a lovely surprise! The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of everything, yet peaceful and quiet. The attention to detail and the charm of the place really set it apart.

Everything! - I have wanted to stay here for a few years! It is an exceptional place! Debbie was a delightful, friendly, extremely helpful and generous host! Many Thanks to her for making my stay so pleasant! From her initial greeting and welcome to the accommodation being ‘so me’ , gorgeous food , comfortable and clean it was a fabulous stay ! I was delighted with a seaview room that is elegant and spacious. I have only known Southend on Sea a short time but it is a special place and this is a lovely stylish hotel that delivers all it promises to provide and more! A beautiful location. I hope to return! 😊

Some noisy occupants!

The room was beautiful, comfortable and very clean. It was in an excellent position and the breakfast was delicious and very fresh. I was given a warm welcome. I was meeting up with friends but staying on my own and I felt safe.

There was nowhere to meet up with friends or sit and wait for them to arrive to meet up. There was access to the breakfast room during breakfast of course but otherwise only your room was accessible. The other slight issue was that it was very noisy at night even keeping the windows shut. It wasn’t just the noise from outside but also the ceiling creaked from the people moving about in the room above and they moved around a lot seemingly spending half the night and from early morning walking around their room
