Second time we have stay at the Hamilton when we have seen bands at the Pavilion Theatre. Great Location, as its a 10 minute stroll to the theatre, and right 5 minutes to the pier. Can park right outside B&B. Fantastic B&B. Staff are very friendly and super helpful. Gorgeous full English breakfast, along with "help yourself" toast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and fruit juice. All lovely and fresh. They very kindly upgraded us to their Balcony Suite, as this trip was an early birthday present for my partner. Absolutely gorgeous room with a beautiful view out to sea, full lounge area, complimentary tea and coffee, biscuits, shower products, and bottled water. Will definitely stay again when next in Southend. Thank you Hamiltons for another amazing stay.

We loved everything.

Everything 😃 Beautiful room, very comfortable with everything we needed. The shower was really powerful and I didn't want to get out of it! The location was great too, just a stroll to the front, but 2 minutes from a shopping centre, Marks and Spencer food hall and a Tesco express. We stayed in the Balcony Suite, and it was definitely worth the little bit extra, as it's beautifully and tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there was lots of storage, so no problem if you were staying for a while. The ladies that greeted us and served breakfast were so friendly and welcoming, and I would really recommend staying here.

Lovely place to spend your time in. This hotel is truly a gem hidden in this town, if you are after a comfortable, warm and inviting place to spend your time in - this is the place for you! We stayed in a delux bedroom which had a view out on to the pier and the sea! It was a pleasant sight to wake up to. There is a pub down the road, which I thought would impact on our stay, but it was not a problem at all! We had a comfortable, quiet nights rest and felt relaxed and refreshed the morning after. The morning was even made better with the delicious scent of breakfast wafting as it was being cooked. Debbie took very good care of us, kept us entertained with a lovely chat and fed us with the most tasty food! I would highly recommend this place (already have..!) to anyone visiting.

There's no parking outside of the hotel, but this isn't really an issue as there is public parking just a few minutes walk behind the hotel. The parking charge isn't too expensive either - won't break your bank.

The first thing that stood out to me was the bed, incredibly soft and almost too comfortable! I nearly slept through breakfast, which would’ve been a real shame because the breakfast was absolutely delicious and well worth getting up for. What truly made my stay memorable, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was helpful, friendly, and genuinely approachable. Their warm hospitality really made a difference and created a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. I’ll definitely be booking here again the next time I’m in town!

I found some dust on the framed awards in the hall… that’s it!!! That’s all I can think, and it’s almost not worth mentioning?

The place is in an ideal location, close to all of Southend's main attractions. The room we had this time was No 5 (Hamilton Suite) which has some good views over Adventure Island Park, Southend Pier and beyond. It was spacious room and with a decent bathroom and shower, plus tea and coffee making facilities. The TV is a bit small for this size of room, but that didn't bother us as we were out for the evening and never even turned the thing on in our entire stay. Once again the full English breakfast was superb and you can help yourself to yogurts, toast etc We had a peaceful nights sleep with no disturbances. Debbie, our host, looked after us well. We love this place. If you want a flash reception and free easy parking, swimming pools, a lift to your room, this is not the place for you. If you want a nice comfy, quaint, good valued, place to stay the night in Southend, in a fantastic location, then this is most definitely for you We will certainly be booking another stay here.

If coming by car you may have to park in the Royals nearby that will probably cost you about £20 for an overnight stay. Parking out the front of the hotel is very limited. It didn't bother us as we came via public transport (best way to go when staying here) The stairs to the tops floors are quiet steep and a little narrow, so those bringing a big suitcase or with mobility issues, may struggle with them a little.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hamiltons Boutique hotel and were made to feel very welcome (without excess fuss). The location is excellent for the seafront and heart of Southend. Breakfast was ample, delicious and with plenty of choices. Our rooms - the balcony suite - were impressively decorated (with recent refurbishment) and of a very good size to allow social (and/or working) space, in addition to the comfortable bedroom and compact bathroom.

The rooms were well-serviced daily with good attention to normal domestic hotel needs. In places, however, the rooms might benefit from a critical eye and a periodic 'blitz': e.g. thick dust in the bottom and on the rear face of the wardrobe (which had to be brushed off my suit); interior shelves in the bathroom cupboards looked grubby 'used' (so we kept our toiletries in travel bags) ... these are small refinements that would lift a very good hotel into the excellent category.

I’m not really one for what at first appears to be a Guest house but I booked this as my usual chain hotel was fully booked, however I was pleasantly surprised. This is most definitely a boutique hotel! The room was beautiful, clean and bright with a view of the sea. Room bigger than expected and wonderful decor that suits the period of the property. Bed comfortable and sleep really well! Didn’t hear noise from other guests or seagulls as you would typically expect at the seaside!! Easy check in, friendly staff and the most incredible breakfast I’ve ever had staying away from home!! I would definitely stay here again!

Everything was great!!

The property is iin an excellent location for visiting Southend. Debbie, the host, was very welcoming and looked after us. The property was very quiet and equipped with all the basic things you need for a short stay away. Our room was up a few flights of stairs, so it is not really ideal for those with mobility issues and there is very limited parking around the place, best to come in on public transport as we did. The English breakfast was lovely, well cooked and served hot. The bed was comfortable and bathroom facilities adequate. Overall, we had a thoroughly enjoyable short stay and would definitely book to come back again.

This is a historic house beautifully presented, very clean, with excellent staff and management. Overlooking the Thames estuary, it has shops, two railways stations, walks and Adventure Land on its doorstep. The breakfast is buffet plus English Breakfast or avocado on toast. Southend transport services first class: take the bus or train to Leigh -on- Sea or Shoeburyness or even to Fort Tilbury. Overall 10/10.

A few floorboard squeaks but nothing to disturb a good nights sleep.
