This hotel delivers on its basic two-star promise: clean, functional, friendly staff, and — above all — excellent location just steps away from the Cité, allowing easy access to the medieval fortress at any time. However, a few details made the stay feel less cozy. Instead of a standard duvet, there was only a sheet and a grey blanket, whose cleanliness felt questionable. More notably, the entire breakfast setup was arranged on individual white plastic trays, with your personal fork, spoon, plate, cup and glass already placed on them. It felt rigid and utilitarian, more like a canteen system than a welcoming morning experience.

Excellent location, a short few minute walk to the medieval city of Carcassone. From the breakfast room you can see the citadel! It was very hot while I was there so I was grateful that it was easy to take a break from exploring, go to cool off in the room for a bit, and go back out to the town. The facilities were all in great order, really nothing to complain about!

Just note that the train station is a bit of a ways away (25-30 min walk, and there are no public transportation options at least not that I could find on Google maps). I would still highly recommend this location as opposed to something closer to the station, but it depends on your preference.

The room was clean and of a reasonable standard. The Reception Staff were also very helpful and spoke English well. They didn't blag or bluff when I asked direct questions either. For example, I asked if the air conditioning could be adjusted, and the reply was that it could not because the air conditioning temperature is set the same for all of the rooms. I slept okay in any event

The room was very small, and you had to be careful not to hit your head on the shelf above the bed. There is also no coffee or tea making facilities in the room and there is a charge of 1.50 Euro for a small coffee from a machine in reception. However, if you are on a special diet (like decaf coffee), the hot water from the coffee machine is complimentary

Staff very friendly and helpful from reception team to breakfast team and room service. Facilities as per star rating. Very clean. Breakfast great and good value and plenty of options for a vegetarian. Aircon very effective (35c when visited).Location between medieval city and new(ish) town perfect to see best of the area. Would definitely stay again if lucky enough to revisit the region. Thanks team Espace Cite for a lovely base to explore your wonderful town.

Struggling to find a negative. To be very picky decaf coffee option at breakfast would have suited but wide variety of fruit teas instead.

The staff were so friendly and helpful. The family room was a good size with a large bathroom including a walk in shower. Beds were firm and very comfortable. The room was air conditioned and quiet. There was a good selection of food and drinks at the buffet style breakfast and the hotel was one of the closest to the medieval city entrance. It was very good value and I would definitely recommend it to others.

The exterior entrance looks a little plain but doesn’t reflect on how clean it was on the inside.

Convenient for Le Cite Chateau. Bit of a walk into centre but fine. Staff very helpful with our parking being quite a big vehicle. Breakfast is good. Got the impression from other reviews you get a set amount on a tray which isn’t so. You have a tray on a table ready set for you and you take what you want from the very good continental buffet. Comfortable beds.

Not able to control AC. Very small room but for the price can’t complain.

The location is excellent, it is about five minutes walk away from the Narbonne gate of the old city. The breakfast buffet was good value for the money.

The bathroom was one of the modern designs where there is frosted glass window to the room. This meant that it was impossible to go to toilet in the middle of the night and turn on the light without waking the other occupant up.

Its location is ideal for visiting Carcassonne Castle, being just a few minutes walk from the castle entrance. In addition , the safe, secure & free parking was much appreciated. The breakfast was plentiful & good value The staff were extremely friendly & helpful. We have stayed before & would highly recommend.

Tea & coffee making facilities would have been appreciated & perhaps a small fridge in the room.

Location is exceptional for the value of the rent, yes there are 2 or 3 others in the area, friendship of recepcionist at arrival was just wonderfull, rooms are small but very very cosi... perfect

Parking in the area takes some time, possible but takes some time and exploring. It was too hot weather and the AC in the room made some noise, so it was between sleeping naked or with ear plugs :-)

Perfect location. Staff were all super friendly and helpful. Great value for money. Air con was a blessing with 37 degree heat. Room had a lovely view and hotel was nice and quiet. Breakfast suited us perfectly. Definitely better than the rating it has.

Tea/coffee/fridge in room would have been nice. Few items in bathroom needing sprucing up (door was broken) These did not adversely affect our stay.
