We were actually desperately looking for a hotel very last minute, and were surprised by hotel Vanilla. Its overall atmosphere is really warm and cozy. I think we had one of the smaller rooms but it was still very well decorated and felt luxurious. The bed was amazing and the bathroom really nice with a heated floor. The included breakfast was really good and we were able to check in earlier than stated. Of course the location may be the best aspect as it is right in the middle of the city centre in a quiet street. The hotel is really nicely decorated. I don’t think the pictures on here do it justice.

There was no elevator and we had a lot of luggage which resulted in several walks up the stairs with heavy bags and suitcases. There are also stairs at the entrance of the hotel. At breakfast, there were no chicken or vegetarian options for meat and sausages. Only pork. Also, not really worth mentioning, but the playlist consisted of pop songs from a decade or longer back, felt a bit out of place :)

the hotel is located smack in the middle of the old town - you can reach everthing easily by foot or by public transport - but in a small and quiet street, hence very nice to relax after having spend a day about town the hotel is rather small although larger than expected since two old buildings have been combined, the feeling being in there is quite cosy, comfy when walking around the hotel floors and sitting in the lounge area or at breakfast (if you are up early)- nothing like in bigger chain store/hotels the breakfast is really nice - lots of things to choose from for every taste, the arrangement of the buffet is more then welcoming - real earthen ware, no plastics, nice plates, different warm choices, beverages hot and cold, milk and non-milk, fresh fruits and bread .... In summer times you could even sit in the court yard and enjoy your breakkie

only a small thing - a little bit more light in the breakfast area would be good, especially during winter mornings when it still is rather dark or rainy and cloudy outside....

No lift and a circular staircase made carrying heavy luggage to 2nd floor rooms very hard. noise from building work outside (not in control of the hotel), would have liked to have been warned before arrival. Very noisy from 07:30/8:00

The location is excellent for transport and shops and being central. The breakfast room is nice and relaxed. Nice to have an outdoor courtyard as well especially when it's warm weather. Breakfast was fine though I missed having filmjölk! The choices were a little limited but everything was fresh and great to have coffee/ tea on offer through the day too. We were able to check in early as our room was ready which really helped us enjoy being in Gothenburg.

We have stayed before and even in the same room. As its at the top of the building it gets hot and stuffy when it's warm weather but if we left the window open at night we were disturbed by the noise of nearby premises clearing out rubbish. Same noises early in the morning. Hence we slept badly.

The location is great at the very heart of the city. It is accessible to a lot of shops and restaurants. The room is very spacious. The bathroom has heated floors. Water pressure is perfect, and heating is also perfect. Breakfast is decent and covers the basics.

The hotel is not accessible. There is no lift, and the stairs are very narrow and twisty. Hence, if you have heavy/large luggage, it is difficult to go up. The rooms are also in either 1st, 2nd or 3rd floors (no ground floor rooms)

Great location between Gothenburg Central Station and the city centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I didn't get to try the breakfast. Room was very clean and roomy, and I was surprised to see that the cleaning staff cleaned and put away my dirty dishes when I was at work during the day - (tack så mycket!). As a sleep expert by day, I can say that the bed, linen and pillows were very comfortable. The kitchenette had the right amount of cutlery and utensils.

As a sleep expert by day, I did notice a dripping sound coming from the heater or the in-room fridge. I was OK with it but others may find it distracting.

We felt welcome from the moment we stepped in. There was no lift, but our cases were brought to our room immediately. The room was beautifully decorated with lots of space and an excellent bathroom. Breakfast was superb with lots of choice and plenty of it! The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel was walking distance to the railway station and the old part of the city. The whole hotel was lovely, with tasteful decor and attention to historical value.

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Vanilla. The staff was really helpful and pleasant. I arrived late in the evening, and everything awaited me to enter my room without any issues. Moreover, on each email I sent concerning late check-in, I received an answer promptly. The room was exceptionally clean with all the amenities you need for an enjoyable stay. Concerning the location, the hotel is just a short walk away from all the must-see attractions in Gothenburg. Also, breakfast was amazing :)

Comfortable bed and bed linen. Clean and proper. Staff is exceptional! Above and beyond fixed a breakfast bag to take at our early departure. Room is of nice size. Several common seating areas available. Outside courtyard for the summer.

The lack of elevator is not highlighted at booking. The size of the bathroom would have allowed it be exceptional but it’s unfortunately bare bone essential and dated - but very clean! No rack for a suitcase. Double room but furnished for one person in need of working desk which is probably rarely the case.

This is a charming hotel in central Gothenburg, just 5 minutes from the city centre. My room was nice & clean, the bathroom was also fine. I enjoyed the breakfast a lot, lots of fresh food, different options, there's something for everyone. Staff was friendly & polite. I arrived a bit earlier than the regular check-in time and asked if I could drop off my luggage. It turned out that my room was already availabe, so I could check in a little earlier than expected.

There's some construction work going on near-by, but neither is this the hotel's fault nor did it matter much -- at least I didn't experience any noise during the night time.
