Swimming pool is the best we've had at any hotel in France so far, large enough to swim laps; and the rest of the spa facilities were also very good. Central lively location is perfect, a short walk from the train station, the open market, cafes and restaurants, etc., and yet quiet and peaceful inside. The building is a jewel, and the common areas of the hotel are elegant and well maintained. Staff are welcoming, helpful, and efficient.

Not a fan of the transparent glass shower wall - prefer privacy. Standard room is quite small; if available we would likely book a larger room in future.

We were very lucky to be given an upgraded room free of charge. The hotel staff were all extremely friendly and efficient and helpful with any queries. The facilities at the hotel were fabulous, such as valet parking, swimming pool and sauna. The hotel room was well equipped with water, tea and coffee making facilities as well as robes and slippers. The bed was very comfortable and the bed linen and towels were good quality.

The breakfast was OK but the staff were very busy and were not always available to help. Some items of food had run out and were not replenished such as the croissants and pastries.

Absolutely everything from start to finish was perfect, including before we arrived with excellent communication from the staff who were helpful, friendly and responsive. The facilities and in particular the spa and pool were gorgeous, and the couples massage I booked as a Valentine's gift for my husband was perfect. Our room overlooked a town square and we could hardly believe how lucky we were to get such a beautiful view. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. We loved the tour we got as we were shown to our room by the friendly and helpful reception staff. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom and shower were lovely. We only had the breakfast there so can't comment on the food at the restaurant but the buffet was fresh, plentiful and had something for everyone. Absolutely spoiled for choice with very high-quality food on offer. The hotel is in the heart of Rouen which made it perfect for going out to eat at the many fantastic restaurants around the corner. The parking was not cheap at £27 per day, but to be expected for valet parking which made everything so easy. We both had a great stay which exceeded our expectations, and we would 100% recommend going there.

It’s definitely a special place to stay. It has all the good qualities which 5 star hotels are expected to have, but this hotel also has something else. Going through its impressive gate into the courtyard from a buzzing square just outside the hotel for the first time is quite an experience. Despite its poshness, it has an air of something relaxing and easy-going. Its location is perfect for sight-seeing and shopping, and just enjoying life.

Because it’s a historic building, finding your room might be tricky.

We liked the pool, the linens and bathrobes, the comfortable bed.

The bathroom was open to the sleeping area - causing unnecessary noise and light when trying to sleep. The outlets in the room were strange. There was a coffee maker, but we needed to bring it into the bathroom to access a suitable outlet. The room was made up to have very delicate wine glasses standing upright at the foot of the bed - very nerve-racking. The overhead lighting was also controlled by switches in strange places. And, while we liked the pool, we didn't love it. It was dangerously designed for anyone trying to do lap swimming.

A lovely hotel in a fantastic location in the centre of Rouen. It is well kept with friendly staff, very good facilities and the room was clean, comfortable and quiet. The breakfast had everything we wanted. The courtyard offers some tranquility in the evening. The price is at the upper end of the range, but it was worth it and if we come back to Rouen I'd look to book here again.

Only one small niggle: I emailed the hotel with a query about the spa a few days before arrival but didn't get a response.

a wondeful stay in this beautiful hotel right in the historic heart of Rouen. the facilties were amazing, and we used the pool, gym and spa during our stay. the breakfast buffet was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We loved the chilled water dispensers on each floor with a bottle in your room to refill as much as you needed. the hotel was also very flexible when we requested a late check out.

our room was a little on the cosy side, but we still had a comfortable stay and were located where we asked for. it was a little difficult to find the hotel, despite directions, as the area directly around the hotel is pedestrianised, but once we were nearby a kind hotel staff member guided us in by phone. we then used the valet parking which we found a little on the pricey side.

The hotel is located in the heart of the town, close to tourist attractions and shops. Housed in a beautiful, monumental old palace, the hotel offers a unique and charming atmosphere. Despite its central location, it is quiet inside. The rooms are very clean and spacious, the breakfast is good and staff is very friendly. The hotel also has a beautiful indoor swimming pool.

Breakfast was good, offering a variety of choices. However, the breakfast room itself could be a little more dressed up to match the elegance of the rest of the hotel.

The staff was real nice, walked us to the room, took our suitcases, were always friendly and ready to help The location was wonderfull, Rouen is a pretty medieval town. The room was tidy and comfy, but tiny. You get a peignoir and slippers. The price is quite a lot for what you get. Breakfast was fine and more than enough. We had valet parking, car was put somewhere safely and returned when we left.

The breakfast bread was quite hard. Maybe typical french, would have liked soms tiny breads. The swimming pool was a little cold for us, but that is personal taste.

This property is simply beautiful and exceeded our expectations. The bedrooms and bathrooms are very roomy and upgraded. The hotel is central and near all of the sites that you would want to visit while in Rouen. They had onsite valet parking that you have to pre-arrange, but this was a huge bonus and very convenient if arriving by car. They have a spa facility you can use as a guest even without spa appointments. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to assist us. Highly recommend.
