Gluten-free cooked breakfast items include hash brown, sausage, bacon, tomatoes, beans, various styles of eggs. Also separate gluten-free toaster. G/f corn flakes, natural yoghurt, fruit yoghurt, soya yoghurt, mixed fresh fruit, mandarins. All items are labelled at the breakfast buffet which is really helpful. A few gluten-free dinner options too include curry and chips. I had a salmon fish cake (starter) with buckwheat salad (which is g/f) and chips. Lovely! Swimming pool open 7am-9pm with jacuzzi and a pool towel was provided. £1 lockers in the changing room. 2 shower cubicles with complimentary shampoo and body wash. Just needed my own conditioner. Also a handy machine to reduce the water on swimming costume. Comfy bed with 2 different pillow softnesses. Free parking once car registration is noted at time of check-in. Checkout til 12pm!

Outside of building looks a bit dated but inside is mostly fine. The swimming pool ceiling looks a bit rusty.

We were welcomed by a lovely receptionist, the waiters in the restaurant were friendly and efficient and very polite and attentive. The room was comfortable even although the safe didn’t work and couldn’t be fixed.

Most of the staff were lovely. One woman, I think she was a manager, had a very unfortunate superiority complex. Basically she thought she was right and I was wrong and in a very rude manner she proceeded to explain to me why this was the case. She challenged me to prove her wrong and she said she would be very surprised if I could. I went back to my room to find the information on the IHG site which clearly showed that I was right. I went back down to reception to inform her of this fact, she had said we were lucky to have air conditioning in our room when it clearly states in the site that the whole hotel has air con. She needs a lesson in how to deal with guests in a more friendly manner. She obviously got confused between hospitality and hostility!

How convenient it was off the A55 to get to. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast had a great spread and good it was open early. Rooms were lovely, fresh and airy. Couldn’t hear any outdoor noise so had a good nights sleep.

Being pedantic the ground floor was a maze and the floor being more level than slightly ramped would be more user friendly and the carpet needs updating. Car park spaces are quite narrow so having a baby to squeeze out of the car was tricky. Unfortunately our room’s aircon was broken so we were given a fan to use, but the fan didn’t circulate any air at all.

The inside of the reception area and bar are fresh, clean and modern. Swimming pool is a good addition and water is lovely and warm. The hotel was quiet. Breakfast offered a good variety of hot and cold food. Well placed to visit Chester.

There is zero kerb appeal and the outside looks scruffy. Swimming pool is also a bit tatty and guests should be informed that it is sometimes closed due to classes. We had an ants nest in our room which was sorted the next morning. Watch out for smokers right under your window if on the ground floor! Also, inconsistency of toiletries between rooms - we had conditioner and body lotion but our daughters' room next door did not. Avoid the juice at breakfast - watery and very unpleasant.

Ideal location for us after visiting the nearby zoo. Handy park & ride facility into Chester city centre located across the road. Plenty of choice of delicious breakfast with friendly staff to greet us in the morning. Both receptionists we spoke to were also very helpful. We never realised how big the hotel was, it was a long walk to our room at the back! Room itself was ideal, clean with comfy beds and bath/shower combo. We used the swimming pool which good with clean changing rooms, remember your £1 for the lockers!

Outside looks a bit run down but don't let that put you off as inside is much better!

The room was so spacious for my mum and her wheelchair. The reception took my mothers needs to have an earlier check inn as she was wiped out from travelling this was such an amazing support to my mother and such peace of mind to me as her daughter / carrer being concerned to make sure her needs were met I can't thank and rate the lady in office enough sorry I could not remember your name but you know x also big shout out to Katie on the Caffè and service such a lovely person kind welcoming and polite service with a smile 😃 thank you all so much x

I don't appreciate the fire alarm going off lol scared me to death

Quick and efficent checkin, breakfast was amazing. Best night sleep in ages. Staff always helpful and friendly. Plenty of parking available, only have to check in your car when you arrive and covers you for the duration of your stay. 10 minutes from Chester Zoo and 15 mins from Cheshire Oaks designer village.

Every day, there was a nasty putrid smell, either issues with drainage or a local farmer spreading muck. Not pleasant at all. Entrance into the hotel from the A483 could do with looking at, could cause a nasty accident as you have to cross 2 lanes of live traffic ,although you can go to the next roundabout and come back on yourself.

The staff went above and beyond. The interior was really nice. The hotel was quite nice inside. Breakfast was very good and the evening food was also very very good. Can't praise the staff enough. The hot tub and sauna were great. The room and bathroom were both great. I really like the grohe shower and bathroom facilities. Nice to see quality.

The pool area was very tired and dated. There was thick rust on the steel beams.. The hotel's main reception exterior was tired and dated with filthy signage, broken lettering and tatty fascia boards etc. The room was excellent but it was *miles* away from reception. The website said the pool was open until 10pm, we checked in and asked to be sure and were told actually it's 8pm on the weekend. Last admittance is 7.30, half an hour before it closes... When we got to the desk at the pool the guy said it closes at 7.45. not great at all. And he was there on the dot of 7.45 asking us to leave the pool. Could do with a USB socket in the room too ideally.

Nice, friendly and helpful staff. Pool was nice and breakfast was lovely. Great location 10 mins walk to a park and ride bus stop to go into Chester.

The wait on food in the evening was long and some orders got mixed up. Not much table space in the bar/lounge area for families to eat around together. The large restaurant was only being used for breakfast during our stay when it was busy with the school holidays. Our food was nice enough when it arrived, though and a good dinner, bed and breakfast deal. I got the impression they were a bit short staffed in the kitchen and waiting on staff but the available staff tried their best.

I booked 4 persons bedroom but finally not prepared the sofabed. After called the reception, the room service helpers provided excellent service. Hope they keep this good service and skills. Due to no mini bar at the room, I went to bar and want to get the ice bucket. The bar tenders, that 2 ladies were very rude when I request the ice bucket. I don't know why they provide the very bad attitude. At the end, due to my daughter was sick at the night time, we need more tissue, the disable reception came and get the tissue for us. She provided amazing service and happy face to us. I really appreciate her help.
