Really easy key situation with the door, good and friendly communication from hosts, lovely location (but up a very steep hill if you are walking), super comfortable beds and a really good bathroom which the hosts stocked with nice bathroom products. We would have loved to write in the guest book but there were no pens available and we didn’t have one on us either!

It was great however not as private as expected as the host walked directly past my window which I thought was looking into a private area - I was getting ready for a wedding and in my underwear so that was a little bit odd (maybe my fault for thinking it was a private area?)

Beautiful property in a fantastic location. Views were stunning. It is definitely a luxury accommodation with great amenities. Everything provided in the kitchen and bathroom. We had coffee in am and vine in the evening on the balcony looking at gorgeous bay view.

Although very close to town, we chose to drive and not walk due to the steep hill the apartment is on and as we are older, the walk back up would be more difficult. Others in the next apartment did walk to town with strollers and did fine. This should not be a deterrent for anyone

Nervous drivers might not like the steep uphill driveway entrance but the view over the Bay of Islands is great because you are up so high. The kitchen area is small and you needed to juggle around when cooking. The oven needs oven gloves otherwise you end up using a hand towel from the bathroom

This is a stylish, luxurious and well equipped apartment. Offering views of the beautiful town of Paihia, it’s the kind of place that you wish you could spend more time in. We didn’t see the owners or any staff while we were there but they communicated well and our arrival and stay here was extremely comfortable. This was the last place we stayed during our tour of NZ and we certainly felt that we finished it in style.

Nothing, although another cooking dish or two (for the oven) would have been appreciated.

You really couldn’t walk to town eg if going on a cruise as it was quite steep carrying a backpack if you are older .. Even going out to dinner I didn’t want to walk there and back as going back is fairly steep and you’re not wearing walking gear . Apart from that great .

Spotless accommodation and the most comfortable bed of all our stays in NZ. Fabulous view from balcony and luxury bathroom facilities and spacious loungeroom.

It was not a problem for us, but the staircase might be steep for someone with mobility issues, and the walk back from the shopping area was also quite steep.

Amazing views & a definite’ Moulin Rouge’ decor… this is a very romantic accommodation. The furnishings were to be awestruck, very clean & comfortable. Also, having Netflix etc was a great bonus, as was the fireplace that was ‘ not real’ but gave off great heat & looked fantastic!

Very luxurious and clean apartment. Good location near town centre (via a steepish hill). Spa bath was fab, appreciated inclusion of bath salts, candles and matches. Generous coffee/tea/mini bar supplies. Indsutrial washing facilities.

AC not working in bedroom when weather was very hot, not notified in advance and no discount offered for this which was a bit disappointing. Upstairs had TV on loud after quiet hours and the ceilings are thin. I note from a prior review other guests have had similar problems, would suggest including the quiet hours in the welcome letters (particularly for room 3).

This was a great location for us as we were diving with Paihia Dive. The Apartment was bright and airy with great views. Possibly a little over the top for us. The wine and laundry facilities were a great bonus.

Lovely position, but it is as the top of a steep hill. Was OK for us, but may be limiting for others. Other than that, it’s a convenient location for walking into Paihia. Well equipped, nicely laid out, plus there was a washing machine and dryer

Important to realise that these apartments were originally a single house, and so the sound insulation isn’t up to hotel standards. The folks upstairs weren’t too noisy but even when they walked about during the night it was noticeable downstairs. Note that this is in a very quiet location generally though, so all sounds stand out. In particular though, the bathroom noise of water running was quite loud, but nothing compared to when our upstairs neighbour decided to run the bath and then have a long jacuzzi at 6AM!
