I had a pleasant stay at Hotel Grünberger in Berchtesgaden, which offered a cozy Bavarian atmosphere with beautiful wooden interiors. The hotel room was well-heated due to its size, making it especially comfortable during colder nights. A great bonus was the sauna, included in the price—a perfect way to relax after a day of exploring. The breakfast selection was satisfying, and the hotel’s central location made it easy to reach key attractions. Additionally, having multiple parking areas was convenient for those traveling by car. The shower and bathroom were also notably clean, which is always a plus.

The only downside was that, as a solo traveler, the room felt a bit small. However, for a short stay, it was still manageable. Overall, a great choice for those looking for a traditional and well-situated stay in Berchtesgaden!

The location was fantastic overlooking the beautiful river. Our daughter enjoyed playing in the garden facilities on the trampoline with plenty of space for us to sit and relax as well. We enjoyed a swim in the pool which is open for generous hours. A lovely touch having toys available for the children to use in the pool as well. Robes also provided for swimming which was lovely. Pool was warm and had different interactive bubble features. Staff were all lovely and spoke impeccable English which was a bonus. Free parking was a brilliant touch.

Options for breakfast were a little more limited than we had seen in previous hotels but quality of food was still lovely. Children enjoyed the nesquik milkshake offering.

Excellent hotel experience! The structure in itself is very nice for its position, the services it offers, the comfort of the rooms, the lovely breakfast... but in my opinion what makes it a 10 is the staff. The hotel was fully booked and they were very busy, but that never transpired in the way they dealt with the guests: they were always patient, always willing to go the extra mile and they made us feel truly welcome. A casual-family-vibe that is just priceless.

There were works ongoing in the parking lot and this made the parking situation somewhat crowded, however this was handled with such grace by the staff that it wasn't that big of a deal.

The man at the front desk was warm and welcoming. He even dug out some converters for us since we forgot to bring them ourselves. At the end of our stay, when one of my daughters left a converter someplace else, he agreed to allow her to return it later, since she is currently living in a nearby village. We were grateful for his flexibility and understanding. We also found that the breakfast buffet offered a healthy and rich variety from which we could choose. We looked forward to it every morning. The town was charming and there was ample parking for our rented vehicle. We will definitely be back! Thank you.

Great location right on the River Ache with loungers & chairs on the river bank which were lovely to relax in the sun. Extensive breakfast selection which really set us up for the day, we often missed lunch as we weren't hungry. The usual choice of cereals, cold meats, yoghurt, fruit (dried & fresh) & the most wonderful selection of breads. There was a small selection of hot food - bacon with scrambled or boiled eggs. Our room was on the ground floor next to the road so we had a little noise but the double glazing is very good. The room was comfortable with a walk in shower, wardrobe, tv etc & was cleaned daily. The only down side was the restaurant was shut in the evenings but there are plenty of places to eat nearby or a short drive away. If you have a car, there is limited parking in front of & at the back of the hotel & cars often double parked. We weren't told that if you double parked behind someone else, you needed to leave your keys in the car so it could be moved if need be. We only did it once! The hotel is directly opposite the bus/train station & services are frequent & go everywhere. There is a nice pool. We didn't get to use it but it was popular with other guests. There are also massage, hair & beauty facilities which I imagine are open if you actually book an appointment. The staff are lovely, so friendly & helpful. Arne was a joy at breakfast each day & Peter helped my husband get into his suitcase when the lock wouldn't open on the day we arrived, going as far as to phone Samsonite for advice.

The location was awesome. The hotel staff from the front desk staff, housekeeping, and resteraunt were all great. We had two incidents with elderly mother. She fell in the parking lot and two staff came running to help. She fell down two steps in the restaurant, and multiple staff helped right away to take her to the room as she requested. She lost her purse when she fell. It had her passport and a lot of money and jewelry in it. It was returned with everything in it. Very honest, kind, and caring people.

What can you say but WOW! A truly amazing stay.... in a CASTLE 🏰! The owners did an amazing job in years of restoration and turning it into a place for someone to stay or weddings. So many spots to enjoy the view of the Rhine River below. It was difficult to choose my favorite. Our room was large with a fairly good-sized kitchen with chairs and table. Thier library had comfortable sofa and chairs pulled up to a beautiful fireplace to sit in front of. A grand piano and a cozy area to place chess in if you wished. We decided to sit outside on the covered terrace at night (it was raining) and just enjoy the lights from the town below. Of course, we enjoyed a bottle of the red wine they had on stock while we sat too! Breakfast was filled with made to order eggs and bacon and everything else you could think of. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions.

If I had to pick something... might be the tight area to unload on the very steep hill. It was a little tricky to maneuver but was successful!

The hotel location is convenient, just a five-minute walk to the bus station. The front desk provides a city card for free bus rides, and the breakfast has many delicious options.

The only drawback is that, although the hotel has an elevator, there is a half-floor height difference between the elevator stop and the rooms, so you still need to go down stairs after exiting the elevator. This setup is less convenient for guests carrying large luggage.

Location and cleanness and the 24/7 open lounge. Off-course the kind receptionist.

1) No security methods applied in the property as the rooms are accessible via the elevators to any one. There should be a security access card to enter the premises dedicated for the guest especially there are multiple entries other than the reception. 2) the breakfast’s team were unkind and not welcoming to us as (Arab tourist) . I had a serious issue with the waiter that he keeps bringing wrong orders every time although i have allergy concerns. Mr. Peter abled to solve the issue smoothly but again the last order i received was totally uneatable that it was made purposely not eatable. 3) difficult to reach the floor if you have a disable or stroller (baby)

Typical German style breakfast. Hotel within easy access of main roads and public transport to get to all locations. Great beds and plenty of food locations around the area.

Some rules for the swimming pool would be nice. It's meant to be a place to warm up after hiking in the mountains but of course Americans who can't handle their drink were dominating the pool. Car parking space is alao limited, so be aware of that if you're driving there with a personal car.
