Fab location, a lovely room and helpful staff

Air conditioning was not really apparent despite multiple attempts to get it going. I was unlucky in that the Italian equivalent of the Oscars took place immediately outside the building on one night and no double glazing can compete with a full orchestra and loud speakers

Location was great,room very clean,bed made up every day new towels everyday. the breakfast was great

The air-conditioning could have been a little colder only went to 18 a bit picky but just one more degree 17 would have been fine. The shower room needs to be addressed the shower screens were far to small lots of water from splash all over the floor making the tiles very slippery had to put towels on the floor to absorb the water and stop it from spreading I to the bedroom a part from that absolutely fine

A happy stay for us! We had to reject our first booking at the Spanish Suites upon arrival — we'd been totally fooled by their photos on booking.com, so quickly booked the Shire and they greeted us an hour later. Only 8 rooms at The Shire, all on the 1st floor, all exactly as presented online and tastefully decorated. Super clean, super welcoming, perfect AC, plenty of space, perfectly quiet and restful, and a very useful location for getting around Rome.

Everything was great. Location was excellent, near the bus station and near the city center. Breakfast was nice and delicious, has everything you eat plus coffee.

We had the MOST wonderful stay at the Shire Hotel. Prior to arrival, the staff had already been responsive on our request for twin beds, and we found out at check-in that the responsiveness entailed an upgrade to one of their gorgeous corner suites. The room was stunning, having the best corner view of the Porta Pinciana gate! Beds were comfy and breakfast absolutely did the job. The location is nice for those who want to be within walking distance of main monuments but also far enough away from the throng of people. Also, a very dog friendly property! My little guy was happy and well taken care of! We were also treated to a complementary bottle of prosecco on the 2nd night of our stay (after I asked if Harry's Bar downstairs would send one up for us). Truly the staff went above and beyond for us - and they were all so lovely!

For me the best thing about the Shire hotel was its location, it is situated near the Termini station and the beautiful park, which I enjoyed running round. It’s an easy 20 minute stroll to the main attractions (definitely not an hour as per the reception info!) and right next to a Metro stop should choose to use it. I walked everywhere and just soaked up the atmosphere and the architecture. It’s such a beautiful and lively city - spoilt only by the vast amounts of tourists! (Which I was one of!) The hotel served a lovely breakfast and my room was perfect for one person, and very quiet. I didn’t have a view of anything except buildings but I requested a quiet room so assumed I was given that one as it faced off the road. The hotel is situated on the first floor so it was hard to tell what the weather was doing without running down the stairs and outside but I imagine in summer you wouldn’t need to do this as it’s just hot! I loved the bright white hotel decor and would definitely recommend.

Property was clean and in a great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Loved the balcony room overlooking the city. They helped us get into our room early after a long red eye flight and early arrival

Would have been cool to have earlier breakfast, as we were busy with activities most days. But I don’t really think that’s a complaint, just our schedule.

We really appreciate The Shire Hotel transferring us to an amazing nearby hotel due to an A/C issue they had right before we arrived. We were welcomed by The Shire staff and escorted to the new hotel. We felt taken care of and that is what mattered most in those moments after travelling long distances to reach Rome.

Location was perfect, away from tourist crowd.Lots of restaurant around.Welcome wine and fruit plate was fantastic. Both room and bathroom was large and clean.Ladies at the reception was very helpful

Breakfast was not very rich but sufficient. Since the hotel is at first floor, the street noise was in the room,luckily the street was not too busy
