The location was super good. The lady on the desk was really nice and friendly. The bed is comfortable and the place was very clean. They leave you coffee, tea and a bottle of water. The bathroom though in a separate room, just like in a house, was ok too and private.

The apartment is on the third floor and has approximately 73 stairs and no elevator, just for you to consider.

The location is excellent and the room was modern and clean.

The windows were not isolating at all the sounds from outside, and there was a lot of noise, even during the night. There was also a lot of noise in the hallways early in the morning caused by housekeeping. It was hard to get a good sleep.

Hotel Giappone was a perfect place for my short stay in Florence. The location was superb - just minutes away from the main attractions and restaurants. The room was small but perfect for one person, and I was actually surprised how well they organised everything in such a small space so that everything I needed was there. It was very clean and the bed was comfy. The lady who greeted me at the reception was friendly and the check-in was hassle-free.

There is no lift, which is normally not a problem, but just be wary if you have heavy bags.

Exceptionally clean, useful to have the fridge and kettle. Very lovely staff. Exceptional location, we could see the Duomo from our window! We were allocated the triple room, so it was very spacious for 2. The shower was great. The room is cleaned every day.Obviously, if you struggle with stairs and noise, then a city centre hotel within an old building where noise travels that has no lift and 71 steps, is not the right hotel for you. We loved it, the stairs were fine and we used ear plugs. Very good price for this location.

The hotel is extremely close to the city’s main station and easily accessible even with a large suitcase. Excellent location, very close to everything. Comfortable beds, comfortable bathroom, everything very clean and smelling nice.

The only ‘negative’ point — if we can even call it that — is that there’s no elevator and the hotel is on the third floor. It was a bit challenging for me because of the luggage, but it didn’t affect my stay at all. However, it might be a deciding factor for others.

The room was very comfortable, good size bed and plenty of space (to put umbrellas up to dry!). Bathroom was compact but fine. Lovely street view to watch the hustle and bustle below. As others say, there are a lot of steps up...hotel is on the top floor so be prepared for a lot of exercise! But that all adds to the unique qualities of this hotel. Location is perfect, about 3 mins walk to the cathedral and dome, 5 mins to the river etc. Everywhere in Florence is pretty easily walkable! Big thumbs up for this great find hotel.

The location was perfect. We were only minutes away from the iconic landmarks of the city. The streets around the hotel appeared generally safe even during late nights. There is a nice legit gelato store about 30 meters away from the hotel. The room is clean and we had a window that open up to the view of the street below and glimpses of the basilica. We were there in the summer and hence, the threat of mosquitos but the room was equipped with an electronic repellant. We slept well for the few nights that we were there. Host speaks minimal English but nonetheless, still warmly accommodating and pleasant. There is a coffee vending machine right outside the door of the property, we had plenty of the cheap cups of cappuccinos throughout our stay.

The stairs. OMG. The stairs will humble you, especially when you are carrying your luggage along. Also certainly, not for people with mobility issues. But this is clearly mentioned by the property. Not their fault. There's no way they can built a lift too.

This place is perfect. The location is great. 2 mins from the station and the same to the city center. This little hotel is a gem. Renovated room incredibly clean and spacious. Bathroom is totally renovated. Facilities are great. The hostess is a sweet and incredibly polite woman. I loved everything about it. We knew there was no lift so no issue. You can take your time and do one step at the time with the luggage. The stairs are not that steep and it is an easy work out.

Everything was superb. Fresh water in the fridge was free of charge. Highly recommended.

Room was clean and warm. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was super nice. It was also a hairdryer that they have not written in description. Dining table and teamaker was a plus. There was a bottle of water for each person and tea/nescaffe included in price. We had some warm tea when outside was raining and we enjoyed it. At the entrance of the Hotel there was a coffee maschine where you can have coffee with only 60cent. Wifi in room was excellent. There was a beautiful view from the window. Location was perfect, only 10min walk from S.M.N train station. You can see all attractions by walk, Restaurants and Shopping Groceries.

There was no elevator and you have to use stairs. Rooms are at the 3/4 floor. But we had only backpacks and there was not a problem for us.

Great location close to Duomo & Cathedral. Room was nice and modern and very clean. Lady at reception was very friendly and let us keep our bags in the foyer after we checked out. Was a great stay for us :)

Could hear anything happening out at reception (such as people coming in/on the phone etc). Lots of steep stairs to get up there so keep that in mind if using lots of luggage. Bathroom was super cute but a bit crammed (to get from the shower to the toilet you had to open/close the door to get past it). Not a big deal though.
