I stayed at Hotel Restaurant Hammer in Eigenthal from 18 July to 19 July 2025 for one night, and it was a memorable and peaceful experience. The hotel is set in a beautiful mountain location, surrounded by nature, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway or as a base for hiking in the Swiss countryside. The room was spacious, clean, and cozy, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The traditional Alpine style gave it a warm and homely feel. The staff were exceptionally welcoming and made me feel right at home. I also enjoyed a delicious meal at the hotel’s restaurant, which served fresh, local dishes in a lovely setting. If you’re looking for tranquility, fresh air, and authentic Swiss hospitality, Hotel Restaurant Hammer is an excellent choice.

Nothing to complain.

The location is just wonderful, however depending on which of the two routes in .. one is "Hairy" as a visitor who's not used to single mountain roads. The room we had was basic but clean with super views and our "dedicated" toilet was opposite our room door. We stayed two nights and ate there both nights. Food was faultless in the evening, however breakfast was a very "Continental" basic. Service as was nothing short of perfect, particularly from Manuel (Manager) and Stefanie and no language issues. Definitely would visit again for the location and service but value for money... Not sure, just checked into our next hotel and very much better value for money and better quality.

Nothing ...

First and the foremost, I had planned to reach luzern in the evening and could check in only late at night (around 10pm) and had informed the property beforehand, however I was worried as to how to access the hotel because there wouldn’t be anyone at the reception but the property owner had done all the preparations and made the access really easy and autonomous, there was nothing to worry about!! Secondly, the staff/manager were very polite and helpful. And the breakfast was splendid. Thirdly, the room was sparklingly clean and the view from the balcony was just speechless. Lastly, the hotel was worth it and I would like to recommend this hotel to anyone who likes nature, mountains and a peaceful ambience!!

Only one thing and that was, the hotel being a little far from the city centre and other tourist attractions, it’s 45mins by bus from the centre. And an about an hour or so by train or car to famous mountains and adventures. I write this only to give info, after all we cannot have the cake and eat it too, the hotel was totally worth staying at!!

The breakfast was delicious. Though there was only one person to look after breakfast needs and the reception, he did an exceptional job catering to all our needs!! We also liked the provisioning of drinks and refreshments even after the restaurant closure time (that is, the self service option!). The hotel has a lovely and peaceful location with a verdant view of the valleys and mountains. The morning view of the low-level clouds hugging the mountain slopes resembles some "Fairyland!!" The staff are very cooperative and helpful. We also liked the AI tool which addressed all our queries or diverted some queries to the hotel staff to address.

During breakfast, some items (like porridge) got over on 23rd Jul breakfast and could not be replenished. I would appreciate it if more staff were available during breakfast to cater to guest needs without having to wait.

I was pleasantly surprised by the beauty of the surroundings. The weather turned out well and there were picturesque walks to go on. On the Saturday teatime there was an excellent concert of live music with mixed media performed by a famous Italian singer-song writer, compliments of the house for hotel guests. Extraordinary value for money, and easily accessible by an hourly bus service from Luzern.

Nothing. All was so pleasant. English was spoken. Breakfast was excellent and traditional.

The first...an attitude of one receptionist was not quite ok. She was not very polite.She could not(or didn't want) speak English...only German. So I asked another young woman to help me. And I was satisfied. I believe that all people are equal...regardless of nationality and skin color. Especially if they bring you profit. The second...single room was very small and dark. The rest was quite good. Thanks a lot.

Area and view is great. restaurant dinner and breakfast were good. Bathroom was big, and modern. Room itself was OK.

Room had an external bathroom, wasn't sure what that meant, but it means that the bathroom is across the hallway. This means all rooms have the front view which is great, and bathrobe was provided to travel from room to bathroom. It's an older building, you can hear the floor creaking of your upstairs neighbor and hallway. All hotels in this area seem pretty expensive.

Magnificent view from the restaurant terrace where my family enjoyed the first night dinner to overlook the Eigenthal valley. Great staff to accommodate our needs for check out. Breakfast was amazing! Truly an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended and certainly will visit again.

Its probably the best scenic place i have ever stayed! Beautiful place, good food, amazing friendly staff. If you like to get away from busy city life and relax a couple of days nothing like it!

I did not notice any public transport around. Best to have your own. It's a place u get away to from the busy city life. Keep that in mind.

Great location near trails and bus route. Shared bathroom and room were well cleaned. Patio/restaurant is a nice play to relax with views out to the Alps. Would recommend if in the area!
