Basic vintage room in the old hotel, nice and clean. With appropriate to the age and type beautiful narrow steep stairs and naturally no elevator. If you expect otherwise, better go for the modern stuff with facilities that suit you. Personnel all positive and kind, reception and cleaners. Loved everything. No breakfast, but many perfect cafes next door plus giant Tesco across the street. All pillows in the room were too hard for my taste but that is a matter of preference, not a negative point.

The hotel is a 10 min walk from three very useful lines. The room was very clean and the staff very polite.

The twin bed was quite small and the stairs (no elevator) quite steep.

We were welcomed at reception and the reservation was confirmed immediately even though we had two separate bookings [a two night with and added one night booked later] We recieved a messaged response to confirm no room change. Compact room [21] with a good bathroom and shower with towels and toiletries. Enough wardrobe space, sockets and USB. The supplied fan was an absolute must during the very hot weather. Cool, crisp sheets - no need for duvet but stored in wardrobe space. Very good location a 10 minute walk to the busy Hammersmith bus and rail stations and pubs etc. Some good pubs and restaurants very close with a Tesco across the road and a similar walk to Shepherd's Bush.

Star Hotel is nice. The building is quite old but the staff did their best to keep it clean. They were also very nice and helpful. It is in a nice neighborhood with a Tesco Superstore nearby and some small cafes. Hammersmit Station is closest and it has three lines which is super convenient.

The walls are thin so you can hear even normal level of speaking. There is no small fridge in the room which I think is a standard for any hotel. The area can be quite scary at around 9pm because there are junkies hanging around the area. We witnessed one incident which was quite traumatizing but I learned this is quite a common scene in London (junkies hanging around and the smell of weed).

Our stay here was truly wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff provided exceptional service, ensuring every detail was taken care of. They were incredibly attentive and even arranged a ground-floor room for us since we were traveling with our 2-year-old—such a thoughtful gesture! The hotel staff were incredibly resourceful and helpful with our travel queries, providing great recommendations and assistance that made our trip much smoother. Their local knowledge and willingness to help truly enhanced our stay. The room was spacious, with a large bathroom and an amazing shower with excellent water pressure. The heater worked perfectly, keeping us warm and cozy, and the bed was super comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. The location couldn’t have been better! Hammersmith Tube Station was just a short walk away, with plenty of cafés nearby. Plus, there was a playground close by, which was perfect for our little one. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and top-notch service. We will definitely be back!

I give almost the maximum number of points to this hotel, because it met all our expectations for a few days of sightseeing in London. Intimate, simple, but nicely furnished. Rooms very clean, cleaned every day. Basic toiletries, towels, hair dryer, tea, kettle, cups in the room. Just everything you need for a short city-break. Hotel staff very polite and helpful. Hotel placed close to metro stations. Rather quiet district. Opposite the hotel there are bakeries, where you can eat tasty breakfasts. Those who like to travel to the past can also send a traditional postcard from the post office across the street. In previous comments there were remarks that the rooms have thin walls. We did not feel it, but maybe it is a matter of guests occupying neighboring rooms ;)

I have no negative comments about the hotel. I just want to write one information about the district, which may be important for people with very light sleep. There is a police station near the building and from time to time police cars pass by at night with sirens blaring. For us it was no problem, because after a whole day of sightseeing in the city we fell asleep immediately, but maybe it can be a kind of problem for light sleepers.

The room had everything I needed, it was all clean and comfy. Space a bit tight but it's fine really. I liked the street it was on, it's lively long into the night but not noisy. It's an easy walk to Hammersmith tube and bus terminal, v convenient. Overall good value for money and nicely clean. You get a key to the building and are free to come and go as you please, which is nice. The staff were all nice too.

My room was on the top floor - which was nicely quiet - but oooof the stairs going up are tough. Steep and narrow. It's just about manageable with a small suitcase but if I had larger luggage it'd be a nightmare.

The room was in a great location to get to and from required places, had good facilities such as a fan, kettle, hot drinks options etc. It was clean and tidy. The room was a decent size, check in was easy and well-explained.

Our room was on the front street on the top floor so traffic was quite loud, even with shut windows. The bathroom was a bit of a tight squeeze but no issues with facilities. Unfortunately our sleep was disrupted due to people in the room opposite being incredibly loud until 1am, so if you are a light sleeper like me, ear plugs may be required as there wasn't much opportunity for silence (obviously this wouldn't always be the case but it seems that the walls were quite thin)

It was in a great location - 10 mins walk to Hammersmith tube and 15 mins walk to Westfield. The room was clean, beds were comfortable and staff were accommodating. The surrounding area had green spaces and a few lovely local shops.

Nothing we disliked, the hotel has basic amenities but that was fine for us as we were only there 1 night. The room was quite hot (we were there during a heatwave!) but it cooled down with the window open during the night. We managed to sleep but it was quite loud. There is aircon which you have to pay for - we didn’t realise until we were in the room that this was an option, so would have probably paid if we were made aware.

I got upgraded to a double room with AC, bed was soooo comfy and the bathroom was tiny but clean and had everything i needed! Would def reccomend for a solo trip to London

My room was on the 3rd floor (all stairs), so if you're not up for that, take it into consideration. I'm also not a fan of the carpeted floor, but it's an old building, so it's okay! One recommendation I always give hotels is to have more hooks and hanger spots on the walls and doors to put up towels, bags, and other things; it comes in handy a lot when you're traveling!
