Basic vintage room in the old hotel, nice and clean. With appropriate to the age and type beautiful narrow steep stairs and naturally no elevator. If you expect otherwise, better go for the modern stuff with facilities that suit you. Personnel all positive and kind, reception and cleaners. Loved everything. No breakfast, but many perfect cafes next door plus giant Tesco across the street. All pillows in the room were too hard for my taste but that is a matter of preference, not a negative point.

The hotel is a 10 min walk from three very useful lines. The room was very clean and the staff very polite.

The twin bed was quite small and the stairs (no elevator) quite steep.

Star Hotel is nice. The building is quite old but the staff did their best to keep it clean. They were also very nice and helpful. It is in a nice neighborhood with a Tesco Superstore nearby and some small cafes. Hammersmit Station is closest and it has three lines which is super convenient.

The walls are thin so you can hear even normal level of speaking. There is no small fridge in the room which I think is a standard for any hotel. The area can be quite scary at around 9pm because there are junkies hanging around the area. We witnessed one incident which was quite traumatizing but I learned this is quite a common scene in London (junkies hanging around and the smell of weed).

Our stay here was truly wonderful! From the moment we arrived, the staff provided exceptional service, ensuring every detail was taken care of. They were incredibly attentive and even arranged a ground-floor room for us since we were traveling with our 2-year-old—such a thoughtful gesture! The hotel staff were incredibly resourceful and helpful with our travel queries, providing great recommendations and assistance that made our trip much smoother. Their local knowledge and willingness to help truly enhanced our stay. The room was spacious, with a large bathroom and an amazing shower with excellent water pressure. The heater worked perfectly, keeping us warm and cozy, and the bed was super comfortable, making for a restful night’s sleep. The location couldn’t have been better! Hammersmith Tube Station was just a short walk away, with plenty of cafés nearby. Plus, there was a playground close by, which was perfect for our little one. We had an amazing experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and top-notch service. We will definitely be back!

The room had everything I needed, it was all clean and comfy. Space a bit tight but it's fine really. I liked the street it was on, it's lively long into the night but not noisy. It's an easy walk to Hammersmith tube and bus terminal, v convenient. Overall good value for money and nicely clean. You get a key to the building and are free to come and go as you please, which is nice. The staff were all nice too.

My room was on the top floor - which was nicely quiet - but oooof the stairs going up are tough. Steep and narrow. It's just about manageable with a small suitcase but if I had larger luggage it'd be a nightmare.

I give almost the maximum number of points to this hotel, because it met all our expectations for a few days of sightseeing in London. Intimate, simple, but nicely furnished. Rooms very clean, cleaned every day. Basic toiletries, towels, hair dryer, tea, kettle, cups in the room. Just everything you need for a short city-break. Hotel staff very polite and helpful. Hotel placed close to metro stations. Rather quiet district. Opposite the hotel there are bakeries, where you can eat tasty breakfasts. Those who like to travel to the past can also send a traditional postcard from the post office across the street. In previous comments there were remarks that the rooms have thin walls. We did not feel it, but maybe it is a matter of guests occupying neighboring rooms ;)

I have no negative comments about the hotel. I just want to write one information about the district, which may be important for people with very light sleep. There is a police station near the building and from time to time police cars pass by at night with sirens blaring. For us it was no problem, because after a whole day of sightseeing in the city we fell asleep immediately, but maybe it can be a kind of problem for light sleepers.

Great location, 10 minutes from the Apollo, Tesco literally over the road, many lovely food and drink places nearby. We had breakfast at Kave a 5 min walk away which was delicious and good value. Always easy to get an Uber or there's bus and tube stations very close to the hotel. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. TV, large wardrobe, hairdryer, tea and coffee, towels, shower gel and soap. Check in/out was easy, just remember your ID as I forgot mine but thankfully my friend had hers! They don't serve food but there is a vending machine for snacks/drinks and you can order takeaway to the hotel very easily. No complaints was a lovely stay.

Our room was quite warm but there was plenty of windows to open and we turned the radiator down so no big deal.

Small but one of the nicest double rooms I've stayed in in London in a similar price range. Actually, it's the first accommodation in the city that I've returned to for the second time, and that's saying something ;-) This time the bed was comfortable - It was pleasantly hard, as it suits me and as it is not usual in hotels - last time I stayed in a twin room and one of the single beds was unusably too soft and saggy in the middle. Overall perfect value for clean, adequately sized room with sufficient equipment. For that price I do not have single major complaint. I appreciate the presence of quality blackout curtains. Location is nice and practical since its 10 minutes by foot to both Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush tube stations or you can take the bus at the stop few steps from the hotel. I would definitely stay here again if the price still stays reasonable.

Even though the noise is not so much a problem I still recommend to bring the earplugs.

I went there for a concert in O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire and therefore looked for a hotel nearby. It was the best decision I could have made. It's only a short walk away from the venue and even at a late hour in the evening/early hour in the morning, I wasn't afraid to walk along the road from and to the hotel; I felt very safe. As I had to leave very early the next morning and therefore only stayed there for a short few hours, I was very happy that the bed was comfy and the mattress not too soft. The lady at the reception was incredibly friendly and helpful!

My room was on the upmost floor in the hotel, so climbing all the stairs was a bit of an exercise, but luckily I had packed very lightly, so it worked out well.

The location of the hotel was very close to the Eventim Apollo, which was ideal given the lateness of the show we were seeing. The staff were exceptional, the two ladies that I met were so kind, welcoming & they explained in great detail where we were located in the building, check in & out times, when reception would be open & closed & overall, they were polite & well, amazing quite frankly. The room was perfect, it was clean top to bottom, there were signs giving specific details of functionality, what was not allowed, where to put used towels, WiFi codes, etc. All in all, I could not recommend this hotel more, although I found London itself quite overwhelming considering I'm a "country lad," being able to escape into this beautiful building, which BTW was quiet as a church mouse, made the trip that much easier. Thank you & if we come to London again, we will definitely be coming back to the Star Hotel. P.S. YOUR DOG IS ADORABLE! Give them a treat right after you read this. Haha.
