I recently stayed at this hotel in London, and I couldn't be happier with my experience! The location is fantastic—just a short walk from major attractions and public transport. The shower in my room was a true highlight—a rainfall showerhead that felt rejuvenating after a long day. Plus, the ambiance was perfect for relaxation. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive.

It would have been great to have USB chargers available in the room. Additionally, I noticed that the towels provided could have been cleaner, they didn't quite meet the standard I expected. Despite this, the friendly staff and great location made my stay worthwhile!

Really enjoyed my stay at The Portico. Rooms are stylish, bed was very comfy. Great shower with good pressure and hot water. Staff were friendly and made check in/out very easy and efficient. Great location and value for money. Would gladly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

There's no lift but I knew that when booking. Stairs were fine for me as an able-bodied person but acknowledge this would be challenging for anyone with injuries or disabilities. Generally clean throughout but could do with a bit more attention to detail to clean some marks off some surfaces and walls in the room. Noticed the condtioner bottle in the shower was empty on arrival and was not refilled/replaced after room was serviced. I did not mention it to the staff as it wasn't important to me. Being fair they may have taken action if I had requested it.

Near Victoria Station, just past a fragrant enclosed (private) park, Portico Hotel is in a well-maintained white townhouse in an attractive row of similar historic buildings on St. George’s Lane. Desk service is excellent, room was comfortable and restful and quiet when nearby guests were out. Large TV and very nice bed, excellent state-of-the-art plumbing. Continental breakfast downstairs was meticulously presented.

As others have mentioned, the rooms are small with just enough room to walk around the bed and open doors to bath and closet. Ground floor room (all single rooms are on the 4th floor with no lift, so I upgraded to a “deluxe double” to avoid stairs) opened to an air shaft with no view.

We only stayed for one night so limited experience but overall was a really great hotel. The staff are friendly and the facilities in the rooms were great. Some nice touches and the interior is beautiful. I loved the original features combined with the warm modern twist. Both the double and twin room were a good size and we all found the beds to be really comfy and the bedding felt soft. We will definitely be coming back!

Just a few blemishes (that seem easy fixes) that took the shine off, such as small unpainted plaster patches, loose fittings, a broken shower head holder and dust in areas that I’d have expected to have been cleaned. Also had to prop a pillow against the wardrobe due to the sensor light coming on randomly, otherwise a really nice touch! So nothing major at all, just small things.

Was a little worried after reading other reviews that this hotel would be terrible but was so surprised. I contacted them prior to arrival to request a ground floor room as I was travelling with my mother who's not great on stairs. They accommodated my request and she was delighted we had a 4 person room and although the room was small we fitted comfortably as it was well designed. It was great value for money we paid just over 500 for 3 night 4 people so for that price didn't expect much to be honest but it was beautiful. I will definitely return as great location but the best part was the outstanding service the staff couldn't do enough for us. Even ordered an user from there own account so we didn't get ripped off on a black cab. So sorry I can't remember the lads names but all the staff were great can't wait to return

This location was excellent, just a few blocks from Victoria Station. We were pleasantly surprised by how cozy and comfortable the rooms were. The bathrooms were clean and modern and the showers were excellent. The staff was great. He gave us tons of information and advise and was super nice to help us with turning on the air conditioner and hairdryer. He laughed with us at how silly we felt that we couldn’t figure it out. We walked all over London and it was convenient to great restaurants and transportation. The breakfast was also good and they have an amazing coffee machine. All in all, it was more than we expected and the price was very fair. We would definitely stay here again.

There was really nothing that could have been better. Luggage storage was a little tight, but this is not a big place. There was room for all of our large bags for six people.

It was really enjoyable staying at this hotel. We had a room with one queen bed and one single bed for my daughter — very convenient for a small family. It might be a bit challenging if you come with lots of luggage, but we managed by tucking them under the bed. The lack of an elevator was okay for us, considering the price and location. The bathroom was also very clean and felt brand new.

The sliding bathroom door was a bit tricky to lock. If you're staying on a higher floor with lots of luggage, it might be difficult — especially for the elderly.

Love the location in a quiet neighborhood - 10 minute walk to Victoria Station. I needed 3 beds and the layout was perfect. The air conditioning was wonderful and the decor was super nice and clean. Loved having the electric kettle for morning tea and a great shower. The staff was very kind and always helpful. They helped take our bags up and down.

There is not an elevator and I had my 80 year old mom with me so it was a bit of a challenge. But it was such a perfect place to stay.

Extremely helpful receptionist, especially when it came to storing my "special" food in their fridge and freezer, and letting us leave bags all day on our check-out day so we could trawl around London empty-handed. Above and beyond. Decor is in good condition for its age, and the extra "public" corridor toilet has an edge of gold-trimmed luxury that was most unexpected, worthy of talking photos!

Shame that breakfast is no longer available (kitchens and dining area exist but it seems they stopped because of COVID and never went back). Our room was very cramped (double bed almost filled the room) which made accessing suitcases on the floor very uncomfortable: this could be improved by proving two of those foldaway suitcase "tables" to lift cases off the floor allowing access while sitting on the bed.

Amazing front of house. I stayed for 3 nights with my disabled daughter as I had ask before our visit for a ground floor room, they obliged without question. Excellent location. Victoria station and Tube a 10 minute walk away. Our room was exceptionally clean with tea and coffee facilities in the room. Very comfortable beds. Clean towels and shower soaps/hair and conditioners in dispensers. Our room G3 had good storage space for clothes and suitcases. A safe located in the wardrobe too.

Nothing. For the price of a boutique/budget hotel in the centre of London, we had no complaints.
