Location was just perfect. Hotel was very beautiful and personnel made us feel special. Nice bar at the back lobby with cosy terrace (even though it was a bit strange that I had to book a table in order to enjoy one drink at a bar). Paper (The Times) at the door in the morning was nice extra.
You really don't expect the view from a window to be that bad with the pricing they have (picture attached). Room was a bit dark and stuffy, not exactly what we were expecting from the online pictures. Also, I woke up every morning to the thumbing sounds. Both benefits of having the worst first floor room they had to offer, I guess.

The restaurant food and service were excellent. The room was elegant
The room was small when the booking.com and the hotel website gave the impression it was larger. The housekeeping was disorganised. We asked in advance for a particular combination of quilt. We didn’t get it and had to ask after housekeeping had gone home for something warmer that was too hot. When we left (our fault) clothes in the room housekeeping said they were found and would be left with the concierge. Instead they were put in lost property and so I had to wait whilst they were found. The room was old but seemed clean.

I love staying here as it’s an old hotel with history. Lovely staff. Nice bar. Super comfortable bed with the best pillows.
Last time I stayed here we had a bottle of wine and a cake waiting for us in the room when we checked in. That was lovely. However, even though I put the purpose of the current trip as a romantic getaway there was nothing waiting for us in the room at check in. We didn’t even get little chocolates at turn down. It’s a cheap small gesture for the hotel, especially given the nightly rate, but makes you feel a bit more special.

Understated traditional elegance. Cozy, well layed out rooms. The NYT was hung on our door early morning. Feels like a townhouse rather than a cookie cutter hotel. Centrally located and tucked back off the main road. It was peaceful and yet you are in the mix ( their location is equivalent of 5th Avenue in NYC). We will be back soon.
Much prefer the main saloon/ restaurant over the bar. The bar needs to be refreshed. It feels disjunct from the beautiful restaurant.

The Stafford London is an exceptional hotel. It has exceeded our expectations by far. Especially the friendly and always attentive staff has to be mentioned.
The only small detail that we did not like as much was the small bathroom and the shower over the bathtub. For someone who is a bit older and not as agile it is difficult to get out of the shower.

The staff was top-notch in every aspect. I could not be happier with all of my interactions and their utmost professionalism. The hotel was also classic and charming without feeling dated at all. It felt like a countryside estate in the middle of the city. The location was excellent and easy to walk to the tube or anywhere in the city. I also found the housekeeping team to do an excellent job without ever being noticed by us, irrespective of what times we were in and out of the room. The American Bar and the entire team there also deserves special praise!
I have no major complaints or concerns.

We prefer older hotels on the smaller side and The Stafford exceeded all expectations. Not off to a good start as when we checked in, the front desk woman mentioned that we booked through Booking.com as if it were disdainful and gave us room 211 - small & dire with a dismal bathroom. A fabulous Whiskey Sour at the American Bar made up for the disappointing start & we were off to meet family for dinner nearby. Returned to the American Bar after dinner ordering another Whiskey Sour but a different bartender and not as good as the first. In any case, we love this cozy bar & managed a drink or two every night of our four night stay. The next day we were able to switch rooms and what a difference. I think new room number was 325 -- much better layout, more space and not dilapidated in any respect unlike the first room with a much better bathroom, spacious, separate shower and tub, a window that opened. We missed breakfast hours the first morning but very accommodating staff were able to get us exactly what we prefer for breakfast -- coffee with yogurt (outstanding French yogurt) & berries. The location of this hotel is excellent -- walking distance to many of our favourite spots in central London -- and while all the staff were helpful and friendly, must call out the front door gentlemen and front desk staff (except for woman who checked us in) as exceptional and outstanding.

Large room, great location, very good amenities. Water bottles, coffee and tea were complimentary. The staff was very nice and we were given a complementary Champaign bottle with birthday wishes.
The standard of service varied: the tea set provided was not washed or replenished. When we asked for clean cups and more tea bags, they were immediately provided, but it continued in the same vein. Cleaning materials were left in the room. Bins were not emptied daily.

Breakfast in the room was prompt and delicious. Staff is very professional and went beyond that to help my husband. Both the Game Bird dining room and the American Bar were convenient and had great ambiance as well as excellent meals. Afternoon Tea was awesome. We could get late service to clean the room. The location was marvelous and the staff worked hard to cope with some temporary roadworks being done.
Front steps (only 2) were a bit hard for mobility-challenged, but the walk-in shower was great.

We had 2 Deluxe King rooms, one was very spacious, the other not so much. The bathroom in the smaller room was remarkably small, inconvenient and disappointing. The finishes were beautiful, but the size of the bathroom was shockingly small. We decided not to seek a different room, as we were traveling as a family and our rooms were right next to the other.
The bathroom size.
