Overall the price was a little expensive for the days stayed. We stayed a total of 3 nights, and I spent over £900 inc breakfast. The shower gel, and shampoo in the swimming pool changing rooms was completely empty, and broken for the entire stay, and staff used the excuse of it being on order. Something so small should have been sorted more swiftly, ie spare shower gel and shampoo holders in the janitors office. A little disappointed that the children couldn't use all the facilities in the leisure section. Room was satisfactory, comfy beds, good change over each day, but room left open all day, on one of our days by cleaning staff, not good for security. Amenities replaced each day, friendly staff, and overall good breakfast. Friendly suggestion, fried eggs replaced more frequently, as the ones on display on our first day were dried out and like rubber. Overall I'd score our stay 7.5 out of 10.

I loved the swimming pool and the jacuzzi me and my partner used these a few times. We were on the second floor so having use of a lift was a lifesaver. The tennis court was a hit with us and we also loved that the use of the leisure facilities were free and included in the price of our stay. Our bedroom was a decent size and our bed was comfortable and really nice.

Personally we thought that the breakfast price was very expensive unless you signed up for the bonvoy rewards. The air con in our room wasn’t working properly I don’t think as it wasn’t cooling down the room as it should.

Perfect location for what we needed (visiting friends close by) plus a pleasant 35 minute ish walk into the heart of the city (using part of the old city wall once we got nearer). Much preferable to trying to drive in and park. Parking at hotel was easy and £7 a day. Hotel was nice and all staff were very friendly. The breakfast was really good. Tons to choose from and all very fresh. The room was clean and comfortable enough. It had everything we needed: water, tea, coffee, biscuits, a safe and plenty of toiletries.

We felt our room, and bathroom more so, was just a little tired compared to the downstairs areas, but as I said, it was clean and comfortable enough and had all we needed.

The breakfast was excellent, there was a great selection for all the family. Staff were always attentive and happy to help. Fans were provided in the rooms which was a bonus as it was hot. It was very clean and the availability of water to fill up water bottles was a good idea. The pool was a huge bonus and kept my son entertained during the stay. It was good to see spin dryers in the lockers as this helped speed up the drying process ready for the next swim. The location was good, very scenic and the perfect distance away from the city to enjoy a walk.

I felt the cost of drinks and food were high, but sadly that’s the result of rising costs of everything. I would have preferred the parking to be free. The lift was small so anyone with a large suitcase would struggle…. But the stairs were easy to acess and helped get my steps up each day.

York was a great place to visit with so many things to see. All in easy reach of the hotel. The Hotel was lovely and obviously popular as there was lots of guests and day visitors. All was made welcome by the excellent staff, so friendly and helpfull from the receptionist, waiting staff and house keeping. I have special dietary needs and the waiting staff and Chef really looked after me in a way no other restaurant or hotal had done before. They even offered to cook some things especially for me. Nothing was too much trouble and they remembered us when we went in for breakfast and our evening meal without me having to remind them. Our room was spacious as was the bathroom. It was cleaned everyday and the bed remade and towels changed. We are already planning our next stay here.

I can honestly say there was nothing we didn't like or had a problem with. On a personal note our room felt a little hot during the night, but thats just us preference to have a very cool bedroom. So we left the window and curtains opened and that seemed to help.

The location was excellent for a three day exploration of York City. The regular No4 bus, stops right outside and whisks you right into the centre of everything. Plenty of parking spaces at the hotel. Room was adequate with comfy bed and all the plumbing worked. The TV was elderly but worked reasonably well. Wi-Fi was OK. Breakfast was good. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly. The pool was open until late in the evening. The garden and grounds were delightful and very well maintained, there's even a tennis court. There were lifts to all floors.

There was no fridge in the room. The aircon struggled a bit. There were some electrical faults (lights not working etc). The men's pool changing room floor was very grubby. A little on the expensive side.

The location was absolutely gorgeous, overlooking the racecourse. We enjoyed the leisure facilities, bar downstairs, and the staff were absolutely amazing and so accommodating. I had been messaging on booking.com regarding decorations for my partner’s birthday and it was carried out perfectly! We had such a lovely stay in a comfy, fresh cleaned room every day. Checking in & out was really easy and went smoothly.

Our only complaints were no air conditioning in the room & the weather was really hot so this did impact our sleep slightly. The water pressure was also not great, but again these are small things compared to great service we received.

Greeted by welcoming and kind staff. Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Included in price facilities were excellent; lovely clean pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. Location fantastic; large Tesco's about a 5 minute drive and short bus/car/taxi journey into York city centre. Very happy with our stay couldn't fault it, would come here again.

We didn't eat in the onsite restaurant but did order room service, while we expected it to be pricey, the food was a bit of a let down, expected better quality for the money we paid. But other than that the hotel itself is brilliant!!

Room was perfect with the view.Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.Location was good in that you could jump on a bus into York s centre saving on the over charged car parks.If you were going out over by car the links to the main roads were nearby avoiding the heavy traffic of the town

Car parking at hotel.Are room was at far end of hotel(but we had the view)When we returned from day out we would have to park at far end of car park (opposite room)Which meant we had to walk back along car park and back through full length of hotel to are room.If you could enter via one of the fire exits which had an outside key pad it would be so much easier.Especially when your getting on and carrying heavy bags.Also evening meal could do with a Special to add variety when your staying a few nights.

We stayed in the superior bedroom, the room was very big and spacious. The room was at the top of the hotel accessed by a lift. The room had 2 dorm-a windows so you couldn’t really see the beautiful scenery, as the hotel sits opposite the racecourse. Bed was very comfortable and so big…… the room has a little fridge cleverly hidden in the side board it also has a kettle and fresh bottles of water. Plenty of room for hanging clothes and drawers. Only down side was the weather was very good for this time of year and the room was very hot at night, there is an air conditioner unit In the room along with a fan but very noisy when running. We did use the swimming pool, steam room and sauna all free of charge, even get towels provided for you. We had breakfast every morning as this was included, buffet style lovely fresh and hot. The staff were all lovely always a smile on their face and nothing was a bother to them. The hotel is quite a bit outside the centre of York we walked it a couple of times, there is a very good bus service out side the hotel no4 bus runs along with some others.
