Greeted by welcoming and kind staff. Room was comfortable, clean and spacious. Included in price facilities were excellent; lovely clean pool, sauna, jacuzzi and steam room. Location fantastic; large Tesco's about a 5 minute drive and short bus/car/taxi journey into York city centre. Very happy with our stay couldn't fault it, would come here again.

We didn't eat in the onsite restaurant but did order room service, while we expected it to be pricey, the food was a bit of a let down, expected better quality for the money we paid. But other than that the hotel itself is brilliant!!

Room was perfect with the view.Breakfast was good with plenty of choice.Location was good in that you could jump on a bus into York s centre saving on the over charged car parks.If you were going out over by car the links to the main roads were nearby avoiding the heavy traffic of the town

Car parking at hotel.Are room was at far end of hotel(but we had the view)When we returned from day out we would have to park at far end of car park (opposite room)Which meant we had to walk back along car park and back through full length of hotel to are room.If you could enter via one of the fire exits which had an outside key pad it would be so much easier.Especially when your getting on and carrying heavy bags.Also evening meal could do with a Special to add variety when your staying a few nights.

The hotel was absolutely beautiful! The rooms were very roomy and comfortable, the staff were friendly and accommodating and the hotel facilities were fantastic! We loved the spa pool and sauna and went several times during our stay. Will definitely be staying here again for these facilities alone! We didn't try the hotel breakfast, but Cafe at no 12 across the road was amazing for breakfast too!

The parking is paid which was a little bit disappointing as this wasn't made 100% clear when booking the hotel. However, I still think it was good value for money so close to the city and with all the extra facilities!

The hotel is great and the room with the balcony was lovely. The breakfast was well worth it and was a great way to start the day. There is a bus stop right outside the hotel that for £2 takes you into the centre of York. Car parking at the hotel is good and not too expensive. This, along with the easy access to the bus service meant that we left our car at the hotel for our whole stay and just used the bus.

The feather bedding was an issue for us as my wife is allergic. The staff responded really quickly when we told them and changed the bedding to non-feather options, but it did unfortunately reduce the comfort level of the bed a little because the mattress topper was much thinner. We were surprised that feathers are used at all, as we would have thought that it is quite a common allergy. We would have liked to have been able to opt for non-feathers before our stay and would have liked a slightly better mattress topper. Having said the above, the bed was still comfortable.

We stayed in the superior bedroom, the room was very big and spacious. The room was at the top of the hotel accessed by a lift. The room had 2 dorm-a windows so you couldn’t really see the beautiful scenery, as the hotel sits opposite the racecourse. Bed was very comfortable and so big…… the room has a little fridge cleverly hidden in the side board it also has a kettle and fresh bottles of water. Plenty of room for hanging clothes and drawers. Only down side was the weather was very good for this time of year and the room was very hot at night, there is an air conditioner unit In the room along with a fan but very noisy when running. We did use the swimming pool, steam room and sauna all free of charge, even get towels provided for you. We had breakfast every morning as this was included, buffet style lovely fresh and hot. The staff were all lovely always a smile on their face and nothing was a bother to them. The hotel is quite a bit outside the centre of York we walked it a couple of times, there is a very good bus service out side the hotel no4 bus runs along with some others.

Staff were very friendly and helpful throughout the hotel from reception to leisure centre and room cleaning. Easy to find location approx 25 minute walk to Micklegate. Next to Goddard's NT garden and York Racecourse. 2 nice pubs a short walk away if you don't want to remain in the hotel. A small swimming pool with gym, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. Can get a bit busy depending on time of visit. We went to York to celebrate our wedding anniversary and chose to stay a little outside the centre. We went to Evensong at the Minster, walked to the centre and around the city walls, enjoyed a guided tour of the NT Treasurer's House, walked around Goddard's NT garden, caught a bus back to the hotel using our freedom passes when tired. Bed was comfortable. Hair dryer and iron provided.

We would have expected parking to be included in the room rate for a hotel of this size but £7 for each 24 hour period wasn't excessive.

Dear sir or madam your service is excellent and I mean excellent we arrive a little bit early than normal. We arrived just at 1 o’clock and unfortunately my room was taken but one of the staff said we have got a room here that you would like looking right over the Racecourse had no extra charge so they said we said yes we would love that the service is excellent no complaints at all. I could not find any false whatsoever keep up the good work, Mr. Horsley. If I could find a fault, I would tell you but the service was excellent Mr. Horsley. Everything I’ve just said I cannot fault the hotel was perfect. This swimming pool’s brilliant steam room was excellent no complaints whatsoever Mr Horsley.

Stunning hotel, staff are all very friendly and hotel has a lot of usable facilities. Rooms were very clean and were equipped with all necessary features. Rooms are a good size and very comfortable bed

The TV would restart itself multiple times while it was on and we were trying to watch something. No buttons were pressed on the remote but the TV would enter standby mode and start back up on channel 1 as if it had been turned off and on again.The hair dryer provided in the room did not work, this wasn't a major issue but as there was one provided in the room we expected this to work. The hotel also hosted a birthday party in their function room which had a DJ, the music from this could be heard over the TV in our hotel room and went on until midnight. Whilst we didn't mind this in the hotel we felt as though it should have been hosted away from guests at the hotel as it caused disruption to us as guests

Great size room with views towards the racecourse. There was plenty of choice at breakfast, the food was well presented and looked inviting. The breakfast staff were very friendly and met everyone's needs. The staff in the grill/bar were also very friendly and the lunch we had was lovely. The Reception staff were very helpful and again, very friendly. We didn't use the fitness suite or pool but the facilities looked very good. A great location on the route of several buses into York City Centre.

The room was "deluxe" but, sadly, there was only one armchair for 2 people. The armchair was very uncomfortable and would have benefitted from the addition of a cushion or 2. The art work on the walls was not to our taste!

Room was top floor, furniture was dated, not what you would expect from a Marriott Hotel. The bed was comfortable but could do with larger pillows and the bathroom was small with a disappointing shower, no water pressure, we reported this but no difference made. Could not fault the staff who were brilliant and the breakfast was excellent, also the Cast Iron restaurant evening menu was good. The swimming pool was very clean with a steam room and sauna, can't fault it at all. Location was good, about 35 minutes walk to the City centre, also bus stops very close to hotel. The parking was great although feel that cost should be free when staying at hotel.
