The entrance was a bit seedy and confusing, you must take an elevator to the fifth floor of a downtown building to find the hotel. Rooms could be very far from the reception area. Some staff spoke confusing English. Others did nog speak when spoken to, strange.

Nice location and comfortable, quiet room.

Breakfast cost $20 and parking was $29 per day. Booking.com said the parking was free and didn't mention the cost of breakfast. The hotel occupies the 5th and 6th stories of an old department store building. The check-in is on the 5th floor and you have to be buzzed in at the street level door. No place to temporarily park to unload your stuff. You have to park in a garage down the street. I realize this is nobody's fault, but it would have been nice to be informed of these inconveniences prior to arrival on this very busy urban street.

I've had an amazing experience at EVEN in Dowtown Pittsburgh, from the welcoming of the staff to the explanation of the parking possibility (since I drove a rental, I needed a place to park the car over the nights). My room exceeded all my expectations, in terms of dimension, convenience and cleaning. Breakfast was great, from the service to the options of meals to choose from every morning. I've decided to stick with the same meal just because it was delicious. Great job from everyone at EVEN in Pittsburgh, a solid 10 out of 10 for me!

Excellent location. I asked for a quiet room and I I'd say I got one (that means no view at the city but to a parking lot) sometimes that was annoying because you can't control the noisy car parked over there. I think we only heard a couple of them. Not extra noise from outside. From inside: it will depend on the rest of the hotel 's guests. We had a couple of quiet nights. However our last night there was some stupid people that felt like singing at 1 am. That's not hotel's fault or responsibility.

There was a few times, that bathroom located in the public / open area were not clean enough. It's a good thing to have a bathroom close to bar and breakfast area, so you can wash your hands, but sometimes there was no soup and a had an odd smell.

Food tasty. Most staff was friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were pretty clean.

- Could use more dining options / meal selections - At least 2 washcloths, hand towels, & bath towels per person per night - better yet use bath SHEETS. We were told for dinner to have a seat and we would be waited on. Waited 15 minutes and we were the only ones there. Thought I misunderstood the front desk person. She had to go tell the guy behind the bar to wait on us. The refrigerator was not on in our room upon arrival and we had travelled with items that needed to be kept cool.

This is the first time at an EVEN property. I liked the security of the place. Being that it was in a downtown area, I liked that you had to ring in to enter the lobby before reaching the elevator and that the lobby was on the 5th floor. I liked my room size, the fact that they had a nice lounge chair and a nice chair for the working desk, which I did use. The food from the kitchen was good and reasonably priced for a hotel.

The price for a bottle of wine at this property was over $50! They basically charge you for 4 glasses from the menu. I forgot that PA liquor laws are strange compared to out West.

Central to Market Square, restaurants and attractions . Staff was amazing , helpful and pleasant There was a bar and limited restaurant food offerings . It was a nice extra . The room was clean and comfortable. I had a room with work out equipment and the in house cable channels had work out programs that fit the equipment . The hotel had a convenience kiosk for snack snd sundries.

Parking was close and in a garage within a block. It was convenient but you have to haul all your items through the garage to the hotel, through the lower lobby up the elevator and into the 5th floor lobby where the hotel is located .

This hotel is located on two floors of an old department store building. It has been totally rehabbed so that rooms are modern and spacious. The WiFi and TVs work well. Breakfast is ordered off a menu but you must pay $20-$30.

The entrance is a bit sketchy with homeless and local weirdos often ganging about. I asked for a room near reception, but again they placed me at the farthest point down long hallways. The front desk staff varies from great to surly, apparently because some come from a staffing agency.

I feel really conflicted about this place. It is a great location at a great price. It's brand new and seems to have fully embraced the wellness concept of its brand. I REALLY liked the gym and my room had a massively high ceiling and a correspondingly huge window to go with it. On many levels it was GREAT.

HOWEVER...there were two and only two knocks against it. The first was the staff. They weren't mean or rude. They were just obviously hourly people who really didn't care about their job or in any way see the job as a stepping stone to any sort of career. They were punching a timesheet to take home a paycheck. That is unfortunate. This hotel deserved better. Secondly, and this might sound trite or silly, but the layout and some of the hotel design was strange/not in keeping with the brand. To get to the hotel rooms you had to walk through big, heavy closed fire doors which gave the impression of an institution (at best) and a prison (at worst). This is such a small thing, but it really wasn't pleasant.

Clean, convenient, safe hotel. Parking ramp close, across the street. Comfortable room.

The entry was a little confusing. Hard to know where the elevator buttons were. We didn’t know where the hotel lobby was until we got into the elevator then it said 5th floor. Most annoying thing was that the water takes forever to get to warm/hot for the shower. Very modern type fixtures hard to figure out to use. So, we didn’t know if the water was taking really long to warm up, the fixture wasn’t set right or a little of both? I really liked everything else about this hotel, just need to know how to use shower fixture. No complimentary breakfast, but no big deal for me. There was food to purchase as an option. I really like these IHG hotel properties, as I trust their consistency. We also walked to a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, so it was convenient for that.
