Rooms were large and modern with large windows. Wifi and tv worked well. Breakfast was excellent. Check-in as easy,

The entrance was a bit seedy and confusing, you must take an elevator to the fifth floor of a downtown building to find the hotel. Rooms could be very far from the reception area. Some staff spoke confusing English. Others did nog speak when spoken to, strange.

This is the first time at an EVEN property. I liked the security of the place. Being that it was in a downtown area, I liked that you had to ring in to enter the lobby before reaching the elevator and that the lobby was on the 5th floor. I liked my room size, the fact that they had a nice lounge chair and a nice chair for the working desk, which I did use. The food from the kitchen was good and reasonably priced for a hotel.

The price for a bottle of wine at this property was over $50! They basically charge you for 4 glasses from the menu. I forgot that PA liquor laws are strange compared to out West.

Central to Market Square, restaurants and attractions . Staff was amazing , helpful and pleasant There was a bar and limited restaurant food offerings . It was a nice extra . The room was clean and comfortable. I had a room with work out equipment and the in house cable channels had work out programs that fit the equipment . The hotel had a convenience kiosk for snack snd sundries.

Parking was close and in a garage within a block. It was convenient but you have to haul all your items through the garage to the hotel, through the lower lobby up the elevator and into the 5th floor lobby where the hotel is located .

I feel really conflicted about this place. It is a great location at a great price. It's brand new and seems to have fully embraced the wellness concept of its brand. I REALLY liked the gym and my room had a massively high ceiling and a correspondingly huge window to go with it. On many levels it was GREAT.

HOWEVER...there were two and only two knocks against it. The first was the staff. They weren't mean or rude. They were just obviously hourly people who really didn't care about their job or in any way see the job as a stepping stone to any sort of career. They were punching a timesheet to take home a paycheck. That is unfortunate. This hotel deserved better. Secondly, and this might sound trite or silly, but the layout and some of the hotel design was strange/not in keeping with the brand. To get to the hotel rooms you had to walk through big, heavy closed fire doors which gave the impression of an institution (at best) and a prison (at worst). This is such a small thing, but it really wasn't pleasant.

Clean, convenient, safe hotel. Parking ramp close, across the street. Comfortable room.

The entry was a little confusing. Hard to know where the elevator buttons were. We didn’t know where the hotel lobby was until we got into the elevator then it said 5th floor. Most annoying thing was that the water takes forever to get to warm/hot for the shower. Very modern type fixtures hard to figure out to use. So, we didn’t know if the water was taking really long to warm up, the fixture wasn’t set right or a little of both? I really liked everything else about this hotel, just need to know how to use shower fixture. No complimentary breakfast, but no big deal for me. There was food to purchase as an option. I really like these IHG hotel properties, as I trust their consistency. We also walked to a Pittsburgh Pirates baseball game, so it was convenient for that.

the bed was comfy. Most of the staff was helpful. It feels very modern and clean.

the desk manager (AMOS?) did not allow a change of rooms to get an outside facing window for better modem reception for my work modem. I KNOW that the hotel was empty / it was a ghost town ! I was one of the very few guests that I saw walking around. My room did not have a dresser for folded clothes, I felt as if I were camping. the parking situation is determined by Nights , not hourly, so you could end up paying more.

The room was great! Very nicely laid out with awesome lighting although I do with that all the switches had a dimmer, nicely appointed and good bathroom although the towels could really benefit from some fabric softener! The coffee in the room as always is putrid, really wish someone at any of the hotel chains would figure that out and fix it, it's really so simple... The location is pretty central with parking available right nearby although not at all free and the homeless are occasionally a problem although that's true of anywhere in the city. That however is made worse if you're trapped in the entry vestibule waiting for someone to open the door so you can check in seeing as the "front desk" is on the 5th floor which is bitter sweet. I do wish that breakfast had been included and the whole "courtyard" area really seems like completely dead space as soon as the season changes! The staff was wonderful and very helpful though! Oh and I should mention that the rooms here really ARE soundproofed! Very nice!

Stiff scratchy towels. Lousy coffee and condiments in the rooms. No complimentary coffee in the lobby. Somewhat concerning entrance setup late at night. Oh and it's hard to find! Put a better brighter more easy to notice or identify sign out there!!! I had passed it a million times and never knew and my uber driver nearly cancelled cause he could not find me!

From the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the folks working breakfast, the staff was attentive and helpful. Considering the chaos—the huge app shutdown that messed up travel and the fire alarm late one night, they remained calm and accommodating.

They should have a plan for how to get everyone back into the hotel after a fire alarm, as that was a bit chaotic and long. Most fire alarms are false alarms or something small, so usually people will need to go back in soon.

I liked the close proximity to the places I wanted to go.

I was not a fan of the shower. The fixture was difficult to turn on/off, the water was lukewarm at best. The shower was also kinda dirty. For one night it was good for what it was. But do consider updating the showers. I also didn’t like that the hotel doesn’t accept cash and is card only. If I had known they didn’t take cash I would’ve just paid the for the reservation when I booked it months prior. I also wish it were easier to get my vehicle, like maybe a parking lot where I could park myself. Not a big deal though.

The room was very large, well equipped, quiet, and comfortable. Staff was very responsive. Excellent location.

Access to the hotel is a bit complicated. There is no parking area for registration and baggage retrieval. Hotel occupies 5th and 6th floor of the building and acces to the elevator requires room key. Parking in the area is somewhat expensive. We were asked for an unexpected 50USD security deposit (refundable 3 to 5 days after check-out), even though the room had been paid in advance and the hotel had our credit card information. We were told that normally this deposit is require for each night. However the receptionist relented when their system failed to process our credit card! Breakfast is not really worth the cost.
