Great location. Can not hear traffic noise. Close to some shops and the Pineapple Hotel. Very comfortable bed. Room was located on the ground floor opposite the pool. So easy access. Helpful staff gave me more towels for poolside use. Handy snack machine inside. Effective air conditioning to cool the room. Shower was great.

Reception desk rarely manned. Rang the number once, No response. I stayed 7 nights. No one cleaned the room or took away the dirty laundry. There was no notification with regards to managing cleanliness.

For 3 star accommodation City Star Lodge deserves 5 star. From the warm welcome received at reception to the friendliness and helpfulness of staff to the cleanliness and comfortability of our room. I cannot find fault in any of this. Janelle our cleaner is hospitable and super friendly providing us with what we needed on our 2nd day without hesitation. The pool itself was super clean and the water temp just right. Location is close to Kangaroo point, Southbank, The Gabba and Fortitude Valley where you'll find plenty of restaurants. To enjoy a good view of the city at night take a 15 min stroll up to Kangaroo Point Cliffs Mirijana and I will be staying again thank you to all at City Star Lodge for an enjoyable stay. Reception helped with suggestions on the best place to see the fireworks on NYE. We even received a text on that afternoon reminding us not to lock ourselves out of our rooms, which was really considerate. Remarkably quiet room and we had quite low expectations for some reason, the rooms are recently refurbished, large, the hotel is central and within walking distance to South Bank. Highly recommend.

Only downfall was the amount of cars in the undercover lock up area meant that getting out the next morning was a bit tight, and this would be completely up to the other patrons rather than the hotel management or staff.

The beautiful gardens and lights near the pool. The amenities were fantastic, the guest kitchen was stocked perfectly and so easy to navigate. The room was very clean with yummy hand wash, body wash etc, the bed was very comfortable and the pool was clean and beautiful to swim in. Great for kids with a shallow end. The warm welcome we received was wonderful after a long day and communication was excellent. The car park underneath was so convenient. The location was perfect right near so many places to eat , parks and just a short drive to river and ferries. Would definitely stay again.

From the minute we walked in and were greeted by the receptionist we were very happy with our choice in hotel, she was super lovely and very accommodating helping us with our luggage. The room was perfect for what we needed, the beds were SUPER comfy and the aircon was nice and cold. The location was great, very close to the city and walking distance to a bottleo and supermarket, fast food venues, and the Pineapple Hotel which served amazing food. Our rubbish was also taken to the bin by another staff member saving us a trip, super friendly!

We would have liked to stay longer! The bathrooms and hallways/corridors were a little outdated and dark, the carpark was tricky as one car would block off 2 potential back to back parks and we saw non-guests had snuck in with guests using up a park on NYE.

My studio room was very well appointed and had clearly just been updated as they are doing with the whole property. I emailed to see if they had a room I could check into early and Lee at reception got straight back to me with a yes. Great location with pub next door and mini mart across the street. Free secure parking is also handy. Good price and you can see that these guys are going to make this place really cool once they have realised their vision.

LOVED the staff! This is the 2nd time I have stayed here and its great! Great location if you are doing this near the city. Staff pointed out a few food places and omg did not disappoint. Bedding is comfortable, and room was clean. Loved the undercover locked parking available for in the city plus also street parking.

Bathroom is a bit small in the family room anyway. Not really room to get dressed unless you go down in front of the toilet. Shower heads didn't put out great pressure and water temp was inconsistent.

I arrived with my daughter and 2 grandchildren. We were rather exhausted after a very busy 24 hours. I was surprised at how central all the shared amenities were. Our room was situated in exactly the perfect spot. The beds were so comfy. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

Fans in the room would've been nice. I kept switching the aircon off and on all night whereas if there were fans I could've just left them on throughout the night. The water pressure from the shower wasn't the best. But we made do.

The reception staff at check in/check out were so lovely and friendly! The room was spacious and clean! It was great for a small group! It was in a great location too!

The bathroom door was just a sliding barn door style with no lock - not an issue because I was with people I was familiar with just an odd thing I wasn’t expecting! I also didn’t like that there was no elevator - we had big heavy suitcases and it was just slightly annoying to have to climb the stairs with them.

Handy to where we had to go. Very clean. Good amenities. Quiet. Pleased with the lock-up car park although it is a little tight fit. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Our only complaints were that we couldn't use the hand and shower gel as it seemed the bottle had not been fully opened before being installed but that was a minor human error and only one chair in the room for a family of 3-4 wasn't quite enough.
