I left half my breakfast as it was not cooked properly and very oily. Goldfinch has really gone down hill. We had dinner there too and we won’t be going back. It was chaos. We have eaten here 5 times over the last few years and never been unhappy but our drinks took 40mins and our dinner was forgotten. When it did arrive it was like a RSL Anzac Day mash potatoes and steak. Not worth $160 for some bread two meals and two house rose wines. Sorry but the food and staff not knowing what they are doing is really letting the hotel down. The room was great, location wonderful and staff at reception kind and helpful!

The rooms were very spacious, clean and well equipped with everything that I required. the location was amazing, right next to the heart of Queen Street which had amazing food, entertainment and convenience stores with everything you need. The conference/meeting rooms were clean and big; there was no tight squeeze between tables to move about. The food that was provided for the conference was fantastic, from the morning and afternoon teas to the hot meals for lunch... there was choice.

There was no hair dryer available in the room, this was the only downfall.

Location was excellent for walking around the CBD and getting to Southbank. Lobby was lovely, and the pool was great (though not heated - was under the impression it was). Lounging areas by the pool awesome. Greeting in the drive was great by valet staff, but didn't use the valet parking - parked across the road in underground carpark.

Our toilet seat was quite wobbly and almost came off - alerted the staff of this to get fixed. Unfortunately we were surprised to return to our room made up while we were out, even though we had the 'do not disturb/don't make up our room' sign on the door. There was a slight issue with one of the lifts, a bit scary as it was quite bumpy and at times didn't actually make it to the next floor. Also unfortunately when we arrived we had a heavy luggage trolley of bags, we waited around for someone to help bring them up to our room but no staff made themselves available and we had to take them up ourselves.

Breakfast was included and very good. The room was a good size and quiet. Loved the pillows. The rooftop swimming pool was lovely with ample shade. Staff were friendly

Other people doors made a noise as they closed, especially in the mornings. Hotel and other information was digital found through the TV. It took me a wile to work it out, so feel for older people. In days gone buy there was information provided on things to do close by and tourist attractions and trips frip the hotel.Shame no small biscuits are provided anymore with the tea and coffee.

Staff were helpful and were able to ensure that everything was all good during my stay. The facilities are sophisticated and clean. The location is ideal for nice walks around Brisbane City and is also near public transport. The room I stayed in had all the necessities I required for my visit as well.

It would be nice to know when housekeeping comes as I was getting ready for an event and one of the ladies walked in. A little shocking I know - but it would be nice if they gave some courtesy that they were coming. Although, I felt like the room was smaller than what was portrayed - but I could be wrong.

Check-in - as I am an Accor member, we were able to do an early check-in prior midday. Concierge - staff went the extra mile to look for car rental companies on our behalf as we shared that we encountered problems in picking up our rented car from the airport. Cleaner - she was respectful and trustworthy, as all our items remained in place even though she went inside to clean the room while we are away. Room - we were assigned a nice room on the 10th floor with view of the King George Square Lifts - there were three lifts and all are perfectly working and fast, which helped lessen the wait times. Complimentary drink - it was made special by not only offering plain cold water; there were two chilled options to choose from, perfect for the warm temperature upon our arrival. Valet service - the car was taken care of and we were able to return it without any scratches or other issues from the owner.

EV charging station - when I was searching for a hotel in Brisbane city, this is my primary keyword and Mercure appeared on the results. However, when we handd over the car to the valet, he said the hotel doesn't have any. The car has its own charging kit but the valet said they are not familiar how to use it and there is no powerpoint in the parking area. And because the car has not been charged the entire night, we struggled to find a vacant EV charging station in the city the next day which in turn made us cancel our scheduled morning trip to the Sunshine Coast.

being in the heart of the city it was accessible to everything. A short distance from both buses and trains, and once you found your bearings you could walk to where you needed to go - or catch one of the three free 'loop' buses.

prices of meals at the hotel seemed rather excessive - close by were several reasonably priced cafe/restaurants. Remember, this is a city where everyone eats out - a lot! We were not impressed with the outdoor/roof terrace area. The pool was smaller than expected and there was only room for 5 sunbathers. Towels however were clean and plentiful.

The view was amazing! Location perfect to explore Brisbane City. Staff were amazing, helpful and polite. A special mention to the Valet team, who went above and beyond to accomodate our needs. Appreciate quality service from quality gentleman. Breakfast was wonderful also! Great to see Gluten free options at the buffet. Delicious meals, helpful and kind staff. Thank you to everyone at the Mercure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.🙏

Shower hard to access as positioned behind the door. (An older hotel to be fair) No microwave included in room (if travelling with a baby this could be problematic).

I loved that after letting them know that we were celebrating our belated 18th Wedding Anniversary. They gave us a plate of complimentary Dessert and a card to wish us for our Anniversary. They also gave us the highest floor on the 15th. We loved all of these about Mercure King George: 1. Close proximity to Queen Street and the King George Square. 2. The rooftop bar and the pool was amazing. 3. Staff were friendly and very approachable and helpful. 4. The room was really clean and the bed was really comfortable. 5. The Buffet breakfast was really good too.

Large buffet breakfast very good, though not all items were available every day. Room view was excellent ( 9th floor) Staff friendly and helpful. Liked practical items in the room, like the iron, ironing board, drinking glasses, tea, coffee &milk in fridge. Tissues appreciated ( some Hotels no longer provide such essentials) Cost during school holidays, included breakfast, was pretty reasonable.

Only the outside of the windows was dirty & needed a clean, to see the great view better,
