The room we had was great. We had no hot water for a couple of hours on Saturday morning, but was told about this well beforehand.Hopefully any issues they had have been fixed now? The location was great, but you will have to do an uphill walk from the train or bus stations nearby. It is not a big distance, but be prepared for a steep walk up some steps or a ramp like walk. We had a couple of dinners at the pub by the reception area. They were really very nice.

The housekeeping was a bit random. we did not get coffee pods for the machine every day, but did so when we asked for them. The soap dispenser in the shower did not get refilled, but the one at the bathroom sink was? It did not matter as I am sure requesting them would be no issue, it was just strange?

Lovely big room, good location (15 minutes walk to Queen Street and about half an hour to the top end of South Bank, good bus connections). I was worried it would be noisy but it wasn't. Communication with the hotel was very quick and easy. Cheap possibility to do laundry which I didn't use as I only stayed for the weekend, but great if you're staying for longer. Great choice for historical Brisbane.

From Queen Street/Central Station it's up a pretty steep set of stairs - not great if you have heavy luggage or mobility issues. I think there's a lift to Roma Station but I never found it! It has amenities like cotton buds etc but you need to collect them from the reception. As a single female traveller from Vienna (which is one of the safest cities in the world) I would have liked the way to the hotel to have been a little better lit after dark but I didn't feel unsafe, just a little heightened awareness. I would book it again, though!

(1) The other hotel I stayed in (at the Gold Coast) had a restricted window that only opened a little. The Madison Mill has a balcony for its guests. (2) The Hotel is on a hill yet very close to the CBD, so an opportunity for fressh air yet very close To Roma St Railway Hub and CBD. (3) Hotel staff allowed me to leave bags also to visit room in advance of normal checkin time. It helped by relieving me of heavy bags so I could go around Brisbane un-encumbered.

One common mistake (that I also made) is assuming everyone and read and speak perfect English. Instructions in the laundry room advise not to close the door when operating the drier (presumably due to the heat). I asked this lady why she had closed the door? Turns out English not her first language. I'm thinking issue could be remedied by multi-lingual notices or a door that can be locked but lets in air such as a metal grille type door etc.

Really liked the Tower Mill hotel. It’s a good honest hotel/motel. Friendly & helpful staff. Corridors do feel a bit tired but once you get into the room that’s nice & updated. Room did feel smaller than the photos show, but at the same time I wasn’t cramped (but I was a solo traveller). Can highly recommend the restaurant & bar, good food and drink at great prices. It’s a short walk into town, but the hill is steep. Just something to be wary of if you want walk around town, getting back to the hotel will work up a sweat. If you’re reading this & considering the hotel, I recommend it and will stay again. It’s not a 5 star luxury joint, but doesn’t pretend to be either. I really like it.

Couple of maintenance issues with some holes in walls, doors not quite closing

Mill tower hotel is my favourite hotel in Brisbane, I've stayed in many including the fancy ones. I love the balcony, fresh air, older style, views and looking at the Mill. The staff aren't pretentious and are friendly. I love the convenience of the nearby pharmacy, bar, cafe and restaurant. I love that it is close to Queen st, but above it and less busy. I love the price.

If you plan to eat in hotel room, remember to get cutlery and maybe plates too as rooms only have a fridge and coffee and tea making equipment, teaspoons, glasses and mugs. But lots of great affordable options nearby.

I was looking for a place to stay while spending the night for a concert, and I'm glad I picked Madison Tower Mill. Bed was comfy, room was well furnished, great proximity to a train station on the airport line and to the city. Staff were friendly and helpful. Housekeeping did a great job with room cleanliness, no strange smells or missed spots. Room had controllable A/C and a bar fridge, along with tea & coffee facilities. Foyer had a vending machine available. Curtains blocked enough light for me to have a sleep in the afternoon. There is a convenience store a very short walk from the location.

An extra full sized pillow would have been the only thing I would have wished for.

Amazing room it honestly felt like an airbnb with how homey it was. The staff in the reception and bar were incredibly friendly and very welcoming. Overall the property was great, the elevator was fast and comfortable and the layout of the room was ergonomically designed.

We did have a few issues with the tv like the connection with Netflix and room casting however these were easily resolvable with a little bit of patience. The bathroom felt slightly cramped especially when we’re both trying to use the mirror but again this wouldn’t be an issue if we had just taken turns. We did find the aircon dripped a lot and the placement wasn’t all that great but it definitely cooled the room down fast.

Great location, room was spacious, and they look to have been recently updated. Level of cleanliness was great Nice variety of tea/coffee and the coffee machine was appreciated Staff were super helpful and friendly all weekend.

Unfortunately the property suffered a maintenance issue relating to hot water systems outside of their control whilst we were staying. However staff were super helpful and apologetic. Unfortunate timing given the public holidays otherwise I’m sure it would have been resolved quicker. No USB chargers in room but plenty of power points for charging

Excellent value for Money. Photos were accurate. Very tidy room and bathroom. Loved the extras available if needed (dental kit, shaving kit). Staff were super helpful. Beds were so comfortable and had extra linen, pillows and blankets in the room if needed. Air conditioning worked really well. Also had so many tea/coffee options including a coffee pod machine, kettle and milk frother. Restaurant and pool tables downstairs is very handy. Great view and great location!

No microwave/toaster in the room which was a little unusual considering all the other items available, but with a restaurant downstairs and delivery to room available, its no drama!

The hotel rooms have been renovated, so everything felt fresh and clean, including the bathroom. I appreciated the conveniently placed power outlets throughout the room. They do an amazing job with the cleaning, and it feels nice to stay here. I stayed in a standard room, which is perfect for one person. It might be a bit small for two people, but it would be fine for a 1-2 night stay.

I didn't enjoy the food at the restaurant downstairs, and I'm not a picky eater. It's nice to have a meal at the end of the day without leaving the hotel, but the quality of the cooking made me want to dine elsewhere. However, the service was good.
