I enjoyed my stay at the Mercure Spring Hill and would stay again. Bedroom was massive and it was great having a balcony with a big window and being able to open the door for fresh air. Room was well appointed: plenty of towels and coat hangers, tissues, soap and shampoo etc. The bed was comfortable. Staff were friendly and very helpful.

The main light switch was over by the door, so a little inconvenient, but no big deal. There is currently a major building construction going on nextdoor, which didn't bother me, but some may be bothered by morning noise - I could hear it, but it wasn't loud.

Check in was quick and pleasant staff were behind the desk. Nice comfortable bed and clean room and bathroom. Wake up call was on time and a pleasant voice was at the other end of the phone.

The body lotion dispenser was not working, the housekeeping staff should check all the dispensers to ensure they work so that all the amenities can be enjoyed by the Guests. My wife informed the Receptionist on Sunday night when we came back from exploring the city. This was so that the next guest who checks into the room would have this replaced or repaired.Also the housekeeper had not left a carton of milk in the fridge (which the Receptionist gave us when we informed her). We were meant to be flying to North Queensland but our flight was turned around due to fog. We arrived back in Brisbane airport at 11.30 pm and were told we needed to find our own accommodation and return to the airport at 6am the next day. I was able to book a single room at the Mecure for myself, my sister and her teenage children. When we arrived at the Mecure the night manager was dealing with an aggravated guest who seemed to be making unreasonable demands. She handled the situation calmly and efficiently and then did everything in her power to turn an unpleasant situation for us into something a lot more comfortable. We cannot thank her enough for the consideration she showed to four very weary travellers

We liked the rooftop pool and terrace. We liked the breakfast facilities which included freshly made coffee to order and poached eggs to order and there was a good variety. It was a relatively quiet location and there was a bus stop offering a regular free service to the downtown area. However, the route was on a loop so it took longer to get back. Otherwise, walking into town was an effort in very hot weather. The staff were helpful whenever there was a problem. Our room balcony was also pleasant with a good view. There was a lovely park in the vicinity. Pool towels were provided.

The hotel foyer lounge was very severely air-conditioned so it was not that pleasant to sit on the sofas for any length of time. The hotel was a fair way from downtown. It was all downhill to walk in but too hilly to walk back. We walked up from the Roma Street station but the hill was almost vertical and the station was being renovated so it was a convoluted route to reach the hotel, therefore we got a taxi to the station when we checked out.

Staff in every area were exceptional, we had a pillow issue which was sorted very quickly. Noise travels through the building a lot. We were upgraded to celebrate a birthday and anniversary, very spoilt with fruit/chocolate plate and wine, lovely unexpected touch and greatly appreciated. Dinners at the restaurant were great, Staff member Isis was very attentive. The free bus directly at the front of the building made getting to the city very easy. We will definitely return.

Noise of doors slamming through the night.

Check in was simple. My room was cleaned promptly, and usually to a high standard. Towels were changed when I wanted them to be, plus additional times. The laundry was handy (once I found out about it). The location was great and the free bus was such a great idea - I used it nearly every day.

The food on offer was only of moderate standard. The meats were overcooked and dry/tough. The menu had some interesting things, but for an Italian type menu not enterprising. I felt the breakfast was over-priced. I did eat breakfast at the hotel nearly every day; I did not have lunch there; I ate the evening meal probably half to two-thirds of the time.

The staff we very friendly and welcoming. We had the family room and it was very spacious with a separate lounge/ living area and the kids had a separate room to the adults which was great. The bathroom had a bath which would be good for families with younger children. Our room also had a large balcony with city and park views. Buffet breakfast had a nice variety with the barista coffee included in the price.

The carpark was awful! Support poles everywhere right in the middle of where you would expect to drive. So much damage on the poles where people had hit them with their cars! We were lucky we went in our small car and my partner could get out and help guide me around the poles to get into a parking spot. It was like the car park was an after thought. The Beds were a bit uncomfortable and the mattresses need replacing. There was a little bit of mould in the shower.

Good sized room (superior double) and large balcony. Clean with good quality bedding and towels. Very nice breakfast buffet with plenty of options and a barista coffee included. Great location with easy walking distance to the bus terminal and Roma St station.

The beds were only double size (140cm) which didn't bother us as we travelled with a child, but it's worth noting as it said the room type could accommodate 4 adults. We personally would find the beds too narrow for 2 adults each. The airconditioning unit was quite loud, even on the lowest setting, and also didn't seem to do much for the humidity in the room. We stayed at this hotel 7 years ago and nothing much had changed in the room since then so it feels a bit dated, but the communal areas had been renovated.

Clean room and comfortable bed and pillows. Beautiful park across the road. Easy access to city and public transport. There is even a free loop bus around Spring hill allowing easy access to city. The staff were always friendly and helpful.

There was a foul smell coming from the shower drains on the last couple of days. This was easily fixed by running the shower water and opening up the balcony doors to sitr the room.

I stayed for a work conference held at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, which were charging twice the price for a room. The Mercure was perfect - a short 10 minute stroll to the Sofitel, as well as Queen Street Mall being in walking distance. The room was spacious, the bed was huge and comfortable, the restaurant downstairs was an added bonus & you can order in to your room. The restaurant downstairs also doubled as a cafè in the morning, and has great coffee which was super handy to grab before my walk each morning.

My only negative is the construction next door. I unfortunately got a room with the balcony facing the construction site. Thankfully I was there for work so I was up early both mornings, but I wouldn't recommend staying here on a weekend when you want a sleep in until the construction is finished.
