We arrived into Brisbane city on the Airtrain (trains every 30 minutes) from the international terminal - the hotel is about a 10 minute walk from Roma street station. There are a few convenience stores within a block of the hotel for milk and other basic supplies. It was just over 10 minutes walk to the Queen street pedestrian mall - plenty of shopping and food outlets. A similar walking distance to the North Quay pier for boarding the city cat ferries. The room was clean and tidy and desk staff were friendly.

Staff were great. Room was small but comfortable… shower was tiny. HOWEVERRRRR… the carpark under the hotel was near impossible to get into and we don’t have a massive car - it would be very VERY easy to have an accident in there (scraping car on the wall etc). We were told to park down there and then come up and get keys etc. There was probably a piece of paper space between the car and the wall on every angle on the way down, and then when we finally got down there there was no parks so we had to squeeze our way back out. Highly stressful carpark, wouldn’t recommend. If you have a car bigger than a Toyota Yaris, I’d highly suggest paying the extra $7 to park at the carpark on Tank Street.

Kind and helpful staff. Everything else was just normal/ok/good/fine. Nothing exceptional, nothing bad. Generally clean. The shampoo bottle and soap bars are helpful. Enough towels and extra toilet paper. I'm not sure if they were supposed to come and clean every two days, and if so, then no one came to do it, which is fine with me, because I wouldn't like that (but hadn't told them not to come anyway). So it's ok.

Perhaps have a plate and basic cutlery available around the fridge. And an instruction on how to open the window without risking letting the bugs in. Central/Northern Europeans (who happen to be your guests) are not used to Aussie inventions, so such an instruction next to the window (with pictograms/pictures) would have been helpful. Thanks!

Great room with a decent view, not noisy at all despite being right in the middle of the CBD. Convenient location, easy to get to and from places.

Provided bathroom amenities could be a bit better. The shampoo and conditioner were only tiny bottles - can't imagine using them more than once. The soap being a soap bar over liquid hand soap was also something I didn't like. You could have also included some additional cutlery in the actual room itself. I bought some noodles from the 7-11 next door and found myself having to eat with a spoon because the room didn't have any forks.

Amazing location. The communication beforehand was very good when i sent questions via messages in booking.com and the staff on the front desk were very helpful in person during my stay there. Luckily i stayed off-peak so i had no problem getting a park in the hotel carpark. I called the hotel an hour before arriving to check on availability as you can't reserve a park. Be familiar before you arrive with how to access their carpark as although it's right under the hotel and accessible via a lift, to actually drive there initially you turn right at the traffic lights just past the hotel, then stay sharp right and take the first little lane way which is hard to spot so it pays to look on a map before you go.

The room was spacious and clean. It had appliances, including an iron, kettle, hair dryer and hair straightener, which were useful to have. It also had a huge television and we had access to streaming services, such as Netflix. The location was great. Everything we wanted to go to was only a 10 minute walk. The city shops and harbour were close. I would recommend staying here and I would stay here again. The price was reasonable.

There wasn't enough hot water in the morning. The hotel staff said that it was because that time is busy with lots of people using it at the same time. Because of this I didn't get to wash my hair.

The bed wasn't actually made very well. The bottom sheet was not secured on all 4 corners, only 3 of them and I essentially had to remake my own bed when I arrived. The mini fridge had so much room service stuff in it that I struggled to fit my own things in there without emptying the fridge first. Despite the two negative points, it was all I needed for someone who wanted to be out and about rather than spend hours in a hotel room. It was relatively tidy and the fact I could leave my bag at reception after check out and collect later in the day was super helpful. Good location

The location was great. Easy walk over to Qpac, over to the casino after the show. Lots of restaurants close and Queens St. mall nearby. Easy friendly checkin, we travel alot and our room was clean and spacious, we had the basic room. Bed comfortable and very quiet. We liked the 24hrs reception. Our room had basic coffee tea facilities, there is also a coffee shop downstairsthat opens at 6am, bathroom was suitable with large towels .This will definitely be our new place to stay when seeing a show or the football at Suncorp .

I've stayed with GWH many times prior! And will continue to use these guys as my first option, not only is the location convenient, the staff are exceptionally polite, always happy to help with any enquiries if needed, I genuinely do recommend GWH

Honestly just not being able to get some fresh air with the windows being completely shut off,I do totally understand it though! Safety concerns, guest not respecting the property or facilities and smoking in the rooms and maybe the room I was in i don't know if I was accidently placed in the wrong room, it was just a tad smaller then the last queen room I stayed in but it could just be the position off the building being the corner! but other then that I can't actually say I didn't like anything,

Overall, I'm very impressed with the George Williams. Everything was as advertised—very clean, small but comfortable room, easy check-in, secure parking at a fair rate, and the bed and pillows were wonderfully comfortable. It's in an excellent location, walkable to everything in Brisbane, just be careful walking around alone at night as it is near an alleyway where a few interesting types were hanging out (but that's not the hotel's problem). The very friendly staff were extremely helpful and they even let me leave my suitcase and car a little later after check-out.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for anyone with sensitivities to chemical smells. The detergent dispenser in the elevator was very strong and a bit overpowering, and you can definitely notice the cleaning product smells in the room. I could also hear people having a fight outside at night, even from the 7th floor. Aside from that, though, great value for money and definitely recommended.
