The island is wonderful. Snorkelling exceeded our expectations. The variety of coral is enchanting and many reef fish. Even saw a couple of reef sharks. Gear hire woman was very helpful and very knowledgeable. Very picturesque setting. Wonderful ocean views from the restaurant and bar. All the staff were very helpful

We had a base level room. It was in very poor condition. On entering, noted a distinctly mouldy smell. The base of the bathroom architraves were rotten, many cracked floor tiles, little natural light. Shower had very slow drainage. No instruction manual or resort guide. The resort itself seems a bit tired with lots of minor maintenance needed

The island and restaurants were fantastic. The Zephyr restaurant was top-notch.

I asked the front desk SEVEN times in one day for a towel refresh. Each time, they assured me it was coming. The staff are mostly young people working from other countries, and it is obvious they do not have the necessary experience. Fitzroy Island needs a full-time manager overseeing all these young people on a daily basis. If they do have someone, they should replace them immediately.

I like the place it was best when I got a better room and I was told id get one. I am still hopeful as last two weeks my room was fabulous. I did get in trouble for smoking 🚬 that was fair as they are gross other than that I have been treated wonderful. There should be more food available for children in the restaurant and I did not like the apple dessert but the other meals are great the staff are kind and the manager is too. I really would advise anyone to stay but make sure you book the right room first on booking . Com I thought I had as I was told my second fortnight was going to be the same as my first fortnight but I was given a tiny room with no kitchen for two weeks this is not suitable. I had a great discounted room to start with but after my smoking I think the staff were reluctant to do it again I have not smoked since only in the designated smoking zones. So I will let you know how i go with getting the same as last fortnight as it's cost me a fortune to stay a month. I am sad but I made the choice to come because of .y first booking which was not even real that is very bad and it's still advertised on this website do not book the place in cairns at the ensuite as the home has been sold and it is not being fixed on this site. I didn't have another choice by then and I was told .y stay here would be covered by insurance I'm yet to find out if it is which terrifies me as I am homeless just lost my mum and unemployed. I was only able to come to fitzroy from a redress payment for being molested and I pray I'm not going to be robbed of this too. I really think I will get a better room I shall see. God bless fitzroy island as they are a great choice for anyone who can afford to be here. I can't that's why I cannot leave as there is no refund on bookings I thought that's what the insurance covers but I dont know yet will keep you posted.

I dont like being told one thing and given another. I was told at reception my new roo. Was the same as my first but it is nothing like it. I have no space no view and no kitchen. For two weeks which I extended to a month it is not great.

Resort welcome upon entry was warm and friendly with lots of information to guide you through everything. The room was large, clean with fan and aircon or extra blankets if needed. You walk right off the beach to snorkel! We unfortunately had windy and cold weather as is usually for winter time so visibility with snorkeling was not as clear as normal but we still managed to see beautiful fish and turtles everyday and battled the cold water with wet suits which helped! The walking trails here are just stunning and you are literally walking through the forest. Only short tracks say 30 minutes and worth every second. Lovely pool to relax at. The famous nudey beach did not disappoint and well worth the walk through the forest over.

The food was decent at Foxy's but limited options. But maybe I'm picky? Lol Amazing views of the ocean. Buffet breakfast was probably the most disappointing. Such a little buffet for $35 per person but perfect views of that water again and friendly staff. The shops were poorly stocked so make sure you have everything you need honestly! And as per usual island vibe, everything is pricey but all in all a lovely experience.

The room smelt very damp The beds weren't comfortable The room needed a bit of an update, it was a bit basic, not a luxury resort more of a school trip viibe but ok overall if you don't have high expectations, you shouldn't be disappointed.

The location, the atmosphere, the hiking trails, the nature, snorkeling and when it's early morning and it's quiet. The water you can drink from the tap.The Foxy's - great food and selection of drinks. Including non-alcoholic cocktails and bear. Try tacos and buffalo wings - yummy. Laundry is super useful as nothing wet dries on its own. The staff members are very friendly.

The room was too dark with the only window to the walking path. There are only two places to eat on the island. Foxy's during the weekend is flooded with a day trippers. Closing the only restaurant for the "private function" is a rubbish idea. I'm staying at the resort where you don't even have a microwave. What am I supposed to eat?!

Room, facilities, view. Friendly staff, but not enough for busy times.

We booked a room with a full kitchen so we could take and cook our own food. The shop on the island is barely stocked.. As expected. We did expect the resort to supply salt, pepper and a small supply of oil for cooking...but no. Had to beg it from restaurant. The dishwasher was broken, which they knew but didn't tell us. It took us a day to get a plug for the sink. A dish draining rack would have been good in lieu of dishwasher. Resort built back in days before soundproofing was considered. Guests in room directly above ours sounded like a herd of pacing elephants - take ear plugs.

I had a lovely stay. The staff are amazing - they all need raises for running the place so well and doing all the hard work! They truly are the backbone of the operation and should be appreciated as such.

I would love to see off duty staff members enjoying the facilities - this would let me know they were appreciated and cared for and, as such, in the frame of mind to care for me too. I would love to see some changing facilities/bag storage for people not staying at the hotel. The position of the hotel right off the boat ramp may be confusing for visitors and it would be nice to offer them alternative facilities.

The staff are very professional and friendly. Our sunset welcome. Bay room was lovely. The food at the main restaurant was really good. The snorkelling was amazing.

Perhaps some more options at the general store for the apartments to make a light lunch. And some guidance around snorkelling i.e. not at low tide and the best way to get to avoid the coral i.e. by the wharf.

Room was a little tired. Some walkways needed to be repaired. Checkout didn’t pick up all charges suggesting various business units aren’t linked in real time. Went to Turtle rehab centre only to find it was closed. Signs at the resort giving live updates would be beneficial.
