After reading multiple reviews I was VERY hesitant about staying at Liberty One. However, I cannot fault the apartment. It was clean, unkept, and matched the photos. It was in a convenient location as I had multiple appointments all over Melbourne. The Footscray Train Station is a 10 minute walk if that. The Footscray Markets is also only a 10 minute walk and you can purchase fresh produce at a reasonable price. I actually applaud the staff on their professionalism, attending to maintenance issues, and their communication. They were honest and gave clear instructions during check-in, as well as instructions on how to find reception as there is construction work next door. I will also add, other people have mentioned that they are “stingy” when it comes to essentials such as toilet paper and so on. All you have to do is speak to reception and they are more than happy to supply what you need.
The bed was rather uncomfortable, a mattress topper would help elevate the feeling of springs on your back. This is not the properties fault, this is more so a word of caution. Footscray is known for some pretty alarming crime rates and there are plenty of people who appear to be under the influence of substances. Just be mindful of your surroundings, don’t leave anything in your car, and take extra steps to ensure your safety at nighttime - I personally would not risk walking around late at all.

I was not expecting an entire apartment so was super happy when I arrived! The place was brand spanking new (like there was still styrofoam in the dishwasher and fridge) and really clean. The location was great for where I needed to be! Full size fridge and freezer was awesome. Great value for money considering proximity to CBD.
There was a washing machine, but no dryer or clothes horse which wasn't very helpful. I had to get out of the car every time I wanted to enter the car parking as I had to tap on and the tap button was too far from the car window. I also didn't like that I had to pay a security deposit of $200 + card processing fees (around $204.00) but then only got $200 back. Like I know its only $4 but there was no damages so... anyway, there was all the kitchen utensils I 'needed' but really only the bare minimum. Could have used more than two forks and an extra tea towel! I also had a lot of trouble getting Netflix to work and i'm not a spud when it comes to technology so I can imagine older gen would have the same struggles.

The bed wasn’t comfortable by American standards. It felt like a hard rock. It was 30 minutes out too far for my destination of seeing the Foo Fighters at AAMI Park. Couldn’t get a taxi to take me back to the apartment complex. BUT. It was a 10 minute walk from restaurants that were open. All the restaurants right by Liberty One were closed permanently. The apartment needs to supply one roll of paper towels. I was using a wash cloth to clean up spills. The door to my apartment was extremely hard to open and close. You had to pull down VERY hard to get the door to work. The front desk needs to put in on the paper they give you that a green button opens the sliding glass door to the outside. I wouldn’t stay here again. The trains kept me up at night too.
This property I booked it cause I thought it was 10 minutes from Melbourne downtown. It was 30 minutes driving downtown.It was a 10 to 15 minute walk to downtown Maribyong tho. And the River view was nice. I met locals at Tru Coffee and the Little Bean Shop. Elle and Bailey the dogs made me feel safe in the neighborhood. Cause I walked out my second day there and thought uh oh, Im in the wrong neighborhood. Elle asked for many belly rubs and gave out SO many kisses !! !

I stayed at Liberty one for 6 weeks as I was new to Melbourne. The location was great, close to local amenities in Footscray with easy travel options in to the CBD. The staff were also friendly and helpful. The apartment was a great size and comfortable for what I needed. The noise of the local trains and building works also didn't annoy me too much, as it might do for others.
The apartment although great for size, overall it could have been a lot cleaner for a new person moving in to it. I had to rewash some of the kitchenware on arrival and overall it was quite grubby. There were some stains on the sofa and carpets and it was quite dusty everywhere. I would expect that it should have a deeper clean for each new visitor. I stayed in 2 different apartments during my stay and it was the same for both. The kitchenware was also different in each apartment and very basic, it's not really thought out for long-term stays, so I had to buy some things to be able to cook. This was fine for me as I can take these to my next place, but for shorter stays it's not that well thought out.

Spacious, new building, gym is small but good. The location is not the most optimal if you plan to just visit Melbourne everyday, but for the price it was pretty good. The bus took from 20 to 30 min to get to the city center (google maps shows less but there was always traffic - even one day at 6 am). The have good amenities, washing machine was amazing to have. For me the bed was comfortable. Overall, very good :) I would come back if I were to visit Melbourne again.
- It is not super near the station (like 15 to 20 min walking) so you have to depend more on the bus that passes by nearby (like 3 min walking) - The constructions are really loud there is nothing that can be done, if you won’t stay inside the apartment much, it’s all good. I’ll working from there some days and it got a bit difficult to focus sometimes. - the only furniture they need to change or deep clean is the couch, it has stains and does not look clean. The rest was good.
