It was in a fantastic location - close to great eats and bars at the Paris end of Bourke and Collins Street. I would highly recommend this place for solo travels or for couples / families wanting to do things on a budget. It is certainly not the Taj Mahal but it means that you have money in your wallet to spend it on other experiences around Melbourne. Long after your memory of your accommodation is finished you will remember those other things.
It would be better if there was some form of laundry / kitchen facilities on the floor rather than just on the roof. It probably isn't the ideal place to stay if you don't like stairs.

The room was spacious and clean. The hotel was situated in a very safe and convenient location in the city center of Melbourne. It was connected to many tram lines all day long. Of course it’s not a luxury hotel but for its good affordable price, the hotel offered everything I needed. Big thanks go to the friendly receptionist Paul who was very helpful and provided me with a lot of useful information. He even let me borrow Myke Card for a few days which was super helpful too! Thank you so much!!! The check-in/ out process was also very easy and smooth. I would definitely stay there again on my next trip to Melbourne!
At some point if the night, there were some drunk people screaming in the middle of the streets and it was a bit noisy. But in general, it was mostly quiet. One of the communal bathroom shower was broken and there was constantly water pouring out of it.

This hotel exceeded my expectations as for the price it is excellent! Hotel is located in an excellent spot just one street away from Burke St (trams) and a 300m walk to Parliament station (train). Shared bathrooms were pretty good and often cleaned. There is a block to share and then some private ones in the hall as well. I had a late check in and the process was very smooth. I would definitely stay here again when in Melbourne.
The TV did not work but that was not a major deal for us.

Beautiful private rooms in a converted warehouse, windows are setup to adequately deal with city noise. Well maintained and cleaned, and a rather impressive linen service. Easy after hours check in/ check out, very helpful staff.
The rooftop kitchen and shared bathrooms are a little rough, just the strain of a few more guests than what some of the facilities can handle. Lack of lift may catch a few people off guard with heavy luggage.

City Centre Budget Hotel met all of our needs! We were spending a night here just to explore the city. The location was perfect, so close to Parliament Station and the free inner city Tram. A great location for China Town, restaurants, the gardens and the theatres. The actual hotel was clean, easy, and exceed expectations for the price. It's basic, but practical. All the other guests were of a similar age (late 20's, early 30's) and everyone was lovely. Minimal street noise of a night too as it's tucked away on a alley street.
There wasn't much we didn't like. The kitchen facilities at the top of the building could do with a bit of love, but it wasn't an issue for our morning cereal before exploring. (Plus the outside area is a good spot to sit, but in the chilly weather, some wind protection would go far!

The hotel met our request and responded to me prior to our departure . Room was clean 👌, comfortable bed with all other amenities . Hotel is in Melbourne City . We enjoyed walking around, no need to look for transport . Very close to Restaurants and Supermarket . Dylan was always ready to assist. Really enjoyed our stay.

Friendly and helpful front desk who offered suggestions on places to visit. Price was decent for accommodation close to CBD. Hostel surroundings were not dimly lit, so it felt safe even when walking back late. Room was clean and spacious with 2 beds and I liked that windows could be opened.
Building was low so we could hear noise from the street, and from other rooms. Common shower areas and kitchen were not cleaned daily by management.

the hotel was in a fantastic location, close to theatres and cafes and public transport. and a short walk from everything. very convenient. the staff were friendly if i needed anything, and the room was comfortable.
the cleanliness of the bathrooms was less than ideal throughout the day. i saw people cleaning in the morning but i think it would be beneficial to have someone go through in the evening as well.

The location is exceptional. It is quiet and very convenient for my touristic needs. It is good value I think. Thanks :)
Unfortunately, all but one of the single shared bathrooms ran out of toilet paper. I trust everybody had enough til it was replaced. It happened the night before we were due to leave.

Location was perfect and the price for being in central Melbourne was fantastic! Accomodation is basic but clean and has an easy check in process if you are arriving outside their desk hours. I got a room with my own bathroom which I prefer. The back alley next door with restaurants, mural grafitti and bars was fascinating. Earplugs definitely required but I don't travel without them so not a problem. Would stay here again next time I'm down under.
Be advised that it's all stairs to access both floors of the hotel. I was glad 😊 to be on the first floor.
