The location is exceptional for travellers who know Melbourne. The apartments are basic but clean and comfortable and spacious and ideal for an extended stay. The managing staff are very professional. It’s not luxurious - but it’s extremely functional. I’m love being able to get a view of the city and open the windows and feel I have a bit of space around me. The bed was extremely comfortable.

The curtains have seen better days and the shower hot water can be hard to adjust but really - it’s great value for money. I don’t like stairs so check when you book. We had a two level apartment and both toilets were on the upper floor. Architecture of the time! Minor issues for us but could be important for visitors with mobility issues. Check before booking.

noisy at night - people in the pool late at night, people walking through the grounds and sitting in the grounds talking and smoking to early morning no housekeeping at weekends bed was uncomfortable supermarket (coles) was over a mile away but after walking there late one night we found that the 86 tram ran from near the hotel to the supermarket. It would have been helpful to know that when we booked in.

Large rooms and good facilities, kitchen, laundry, bathroom, living room etc. quiet spot and great location. Stayed here as I had to drive up from the countryside for a day procedure at St Vincent’s hospital. Was able to park on-site and walk to the hospital and back, walk down Fitzroy for dinner and breakfast the next morning before driving home.

The bed was a little form for me, but fine for a one night stay. The rooms are a little dated, but have everything you need and are comfortable and clean. Would stay again.

Stay in apartments for 7 nights . Great location- Melburne Musium just 5 minutes walk through the park. Also 15-20 minutes walk to CBD, where all of our pick up points were for the trips. Easy pick up and drop off point for Uber. Kitchen with all facilities - cooked our own breakfast 😋. 1.5 block away great restaurants and caffes, grocery shops. Our room was ready to check in early, and we were allowed to check out later due to our flights.

Was very nice and private and close to tram, bus and train stops and quite central in the CBD. It has great Fitzroy character.

* The price was a bit more expensive than it usually was and my room didn't have a balcony * The smart tv has no online streaming services that seem to work and is outdated and complicated, I think that for the price I payed there should of been access to good entertainment viewing and a balcony. Free to air Tv works but is clunky with the remote not so responsive.

Really convenient spot, right near the gardens. But still tucked away enough that it felt private. Parking on-site is affordable and easy to find. We collected our room key from a lockbox as we arrived late, but instructions were clear and we had no trouble at all finding our room. The room was more like an apartment, with kitchen and lounge/dining area upon entry, then 2 king sized bedrooms upstairs, along with the bathroom and an ensuite in one of the rooms. Everything was very clean and tidy! The grounds/garden was well kept too, and nice to look at through the window. Staff were lovely when we went to return keys in the morning, and the after hours staff on the phone were great as well.

Upon late arrival, the reception had lights off and there was very little lighting outside so you had to use a flashlight to find the lockbox. It's a large complex with several entrances so initially it could be a bit tricky to navigate - particularly if you arrive at night.

accommodation is not just one room, it's an apartment with laundry, separate bedroom, bathroom, lounge/dining and kitchen area. Adequate cooking facilities and utensils to cook or heat your own meals.

There is only one restaurant nearby, no other close food outlets without having to drive or catch public transport. You can cook in your room but must take food with you as no supermarkets/shops close by. Parking can be an issue.

What a fantastic place! A beautiful older building with charm. A fantastic outdoor green with BBQ area and pool. Walking distance to Carlton Gardens and great eateries. We will definitely be making this our go to stay when we come to the city - will be a great option for us with kids too.

No elevator, so had to use stairs to get to the top floor.

The size of the apartment was fantastic. It was clean, comfortable and nice to have the garden surrounds. As some other reviews have mentioned, the interior is a little dated (it's a property with great character and it didnt bother us) for the price and central location its great value. Bonus to have a kitchenette and parking onsite we would certainly stay here again!

The shower setup, modern shower head too low, in bath tub that was too high in relation to the floor. When we tried to book in for another stay, my email to 'reservations' was not answered, a phone call in regard to the email was not replied to the following day, then, after waiting for confirmation, was told nothing was available. Thats Ok, but the initial email should have been answered within a couple of hours.
